I have used this service for the prior 4 years (including 2024) to file a business tax extension form 7004 for my **********************. We specialize in super yacht design (interior and exterior design for grand scale projects. ********* was officially formed in July 2014, so the *** is 10 years old. A little bit about us, we have been working on a concept in house to find an investor since 2015. It's a long journey to reach ultra high net worth individuals when you're a small fry with a big proposal. The way the business works is usually you work for free in advance to give a client a brief of design you can provide and then they decide if they want to proceed and sign a contract. So the income is not solid at all, it's like being a tender for major projects. So we've ended up doing out taxes from the beginning in September because we always had to wait to know if we'd be granted a contract and payment after 6-8 months of work. That's why I systematically filed an extension every year for 10 years. Now comes 2024, and I file the 7004 as I always do and when I file the 1120s taxes in September 2024, I receive an *** penalty for $2800+ for failing to file form 7004, making it look like I failed to file my taxes on time (*** notice Oct.7, 2024). On March 13, 2024, I filed and submitted for 7004 through *****************, made payment and received confirmation so at this point I'm oddly confused. I first think it's a phishing letter by a scammer imitating the *** so I just brush it off. Then I receive another letter from the ***. So I call then, and get confirmation that the letter is real and I have a penalty to pay. I explain the situation with tax2efile and the *** says "gather all the evidence and mail it to us". As I seek to ask another question, the *** hangs up on me. I call tax2efile and ask what happened, please help fix this error. The final response they gave me is if I want a refund. As I have no more room to type, I'm attaching all the evidence I have.

The taxpayer, *************, attempted to submit an extension electronically using our software in accordance with the *** extension due date requirement. Unfortunately, user did pay but not submitted the return in the application. Due to which the submission process was not fully completed, and the extension was never submitted to the ***. As a result, the filer received a notice from the *** dated October 7, 2024, imposing a penalty of $2,820.00. we did spoke to taxpayer about this issue. In the meantime, on behalf of customer we responded to ***. Once we get any correspondence from ***, we would update the user. Thank you.

    Dear BBB Team,

There  are private internal details and processes entailed in my submitted complaint which I do not feel comfortable with the public reading. It was intended only for BBB to understand the situation.

Please review the complaint with revisions, that exclude the private internal details of how our *** does accounting including the name of the ***.

Please see below revised Complaint excluding business name details and accounting models:

    Beginning of text-

I have used the ***************** for the prior 4 years (including 2024) to file a business tax extension form 7004 for our **********. Due to the **** accounting model, form 7004 was  systematically filed for a business tax extension every year for 10 years. Now comes 2024, and I file the 7004 as I always have. After filing the 1120s Tax Return  in September 2024, we received an *** penalty for $2800+ for failing to file form 7004. This penalty from the *** made it appear that our ********** failed to file 2023 taxes on time (*** notice Oct.7, 2024). However, on March 13, 2024, I filed and submitted form 7004 through *****************, made payment and received confirmation therefore at this point I was in utter confusion. At first, my thoughts were that the *** notice was a phishing letter by a scammer imitating the *** and so I just brushed it off. Then, we receive another notice from the *** regarding the matter. After getting in touch with the ***, I received  confirmation that the notice is valid and the *** has a penalty due. I informed the *** of  the situation regarding Tax2eFile. Their reply was to "gather all the evidence and mail in". Following the matter, I contacted Tax2eFile to elaborate as to what occurred on March 13th, 2024. The final response they gave me is if I would like a refund. As I have no more room to type, I'm attaching all the evidence regarding this issue.

    End of text-

Best wishes for the upcoming  holidays and I look forward to your confirmation of receipt of this message and confirmation that the revised version will be published as the original has private business information not intended for the public.

    Kind regards,

    **** ******
