    2nd Chance Credit Service was first brought to the attention of the Better Business Bureau on February 23, 2016. A Better Business Bureau investigation revealed that 2nd Chance Credit Service does not have a current 2016 business license according to the Hampton, Virginia Commissioner of Revenue.

    According to information the Better Business Bureau gathered during its investigation on 2nd Chance Credit Service is the company offers to assist consumers with improving their credit scores by removing negative accounts from the consumer's credit reports. According to the company's website they charge $300 for a package that includes all 3 credit reporting agencies. They have two other packages available that start at $99 for a startup fee and will cost the consumer $79.00 a month.

A Better Business Bureau investigation revealed that 2nd Chance Credit Service does not have a 2020 business license according to the Commissioner of Revenue for Hampton, Virginia and according to the website for the Virginia Department of Agriculture, Credit Service Businesses Act: https://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/title59.1/chapter25.1,/, requires all companies that engage in Credit Repair be registered with their office. Please visit; http://www.vdacs.virginia.gov/food-credit-services-businesses.shtml, click on "Online List of Registered Credit Service Businesses" for a list of registered Credit Repair companies. There have been no alerts sent to the Better Business Bureau using the BBB's Scam Tracker https://www.bbb.org/scamtracker/us regarding this business.

    Upon investigating the company's website it was revealed that the website is no longer active and is up for sale. On February 19, 2020 BBB sent a request for basic and additional information about the company's nature of business. On February 27, 2020 the post office returned the mail sent to the company as "Return to Sender, Insufficient Address, Unable to Forward." BBB resent the basic information request to the company using the company's email address and the email was not returned undeliverable.

    On June 8, 2020, BBB sent an investigation letter using the company's email address that requested the following information regarding copies of their licensure, disclosures, cancellation and /or agreements provided to consumer's after acceptance or denial, and steps taken to remove inquiries, collections, bankruptcies, and bad credit reporting. The email sent to the company was not returned undeliverable.

    As of the date of this Business Profile, the company has not responded to the Better Business Bureau's request for information on the company's operations and services provided.

    On October 12 2023, BBB sent an investigation letter by email to the company requesting information regarding copies of their licensure, disclosures, cancellation and /or agreements provided to consumers after acceptance or denial, and steps taken to assist consumers in improving their credit rating. 

    As of the date of this Business Profile, the company has not responded to Better Business Bureau’s request for information on the company’s operations and services provided. The email was not returned as “Undeliverable.”
