*** your crashed and was in a snow bank. It took time to recovery your car. The only time you mentioned to us it was a rental is when the car was loaded. You must driver responsible and always have Insurence. Its like the people at hertz said he should have had insurance. *** if you pay $8 for a **************** or $5 for a candy bar how much do you think it cost to send a $140 k truck out to recover your car that was stuck in a snow bank and was not able to be removed with out a tow truck with a 10 k pound wench that that still was not easy to get it out safely with out further damage. You will not be issued a refund next time drive more cautious and slow down when youre in the snow that is a decent price that is for winching, labor, and recovery  Have a good day God bless

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

       Complaint: 22843837

I am rejecting this response because: Everything they stated in tehir response to me is untrue, and their actions demonstrate fraudulent behavior.

      1. They claimed to have come to tow my vehicle in snowy weather. However, the photos clearly show no signs of snow. Such an immoral liar.
      2. They mentioned pulling the car off the road, yet the vehicle was parked in a shopping mall parking lot. Everything they say is a lie, and it's based on theft.
      3. Their actions only involved placing the car on the tow truck and then lowering it back down, which does not constitute providing a towing service.
      4. Charging $1,125 without actually towing the vehicle is unheard of and unreasonable.

      5. In ********, towing businesses are required by law to provide a receipt to customers. According to Virginia Code ***********, ******************** and ********************** operators must provide the vehicle owner or their agent with an itemized invoice or receipt. This receipt must include my signature. They can not prove it, I did not signed anything.
      5. Additionally, you concluded your message with God bless you. It is important to remember that dishonesty and fraudulent behavior are not condoned by any higher power.
Your fraudulent practices have been noted by many others in ****** reviews, which consistently highlight similar issues. I want to make it clear that I will not let this matter go unresolved.

I have provided all the pictures. They need to provide me with two simple things: 1. their pictures showing the car in the snow or any evidence of even a small amount of snow. 2. My signature at their receipt.

      Regards,

      **** *********

Transaction date: 02/04/2024 Amount paid for a tow: $765 (2.9 miles to mechanic)Apex was called for roadside assistance to jump my battery. I was not at the home and was at an event. They arrived and told my wife it was too dead and offered to tow it.Next, 20 ft. tire marks were left in front of the house as my truck was dragged on brand new tires (negligent procedures, all they had to do was put the truck in neutral). The driver then leaves and hijacks the truck without providing a cost estimate or an invoice and later texts an invoice copy to my wife for $765. Breakout of Apex fees: Winch: 285 / Skates 125 / Hook Up 285 (To only take the truck 2.9 miles to the shop)I called to resolve with the owner, ***********************, and he said that I was "lying" about the tire tracks because they use video and take pictures. I then sent him my wife's video and photos of the live incident with the driver and the truck on camera and the 20 ft. tread marks. He was shocked and refunded the $125 line item for non-use of the proper equipment (skates). But then it got worse.Later he would not take my call so we texted. He said they would not be liable for any damages based on the signed waiver. I sent him the copy of the UNSIGNED and UNAUTHORIZED waiver that was texted to my wife along with the invoice. I told him I would escalate this situation using multiple consumer protection channels including the BBB, the VA Attorney General *************************** the Board of Towing and Recovery, and Yelp. He responded: "Bro do your best" "You pushing your problems off on me is not going to work""What a bozo""You can't have a free tow""You sound crazy I'm sorry you don't have the money"On Monday, the instrument panel on my truck blew a module and went dead. The dealer said it was caused by a power surge when working on the battery (the original reason I called Apex for assistance). The estimate to repair the instrument module is $1,000.Invoice no. with Apex is: 549
