On 7/11/2023 we submitted an application for housing with this company. Myself and my co-applicant were denied and told it was based on our debt to income ratio being over the 40% threshold. We were fully aware that our DTI is not that high, and requested more information about where they got that number. They refused. We were later told it was not our DTI, but our credit score and that our DTI was fine. We asked for an adverse action letter, and initially were refused. Finally they sent us a letter that said nothing about our DTI and did not list the credit score. Frustrated, we exercised our right to free speech and rated them 1 star on ****** with no comments added. The principal broker then reached out and insisted we remove the review because he felt we were not in the right to leave it. We explained why we left the review and he then said we were denied due to our DTI which had previously been confirmed to not be true. We then asked for a copy of an adverse action letter that listed the credit reporting company used to access our reports and were refused. Further, they admitted to encouraging us to submit an application to a home that already had approved applicants. During all of this we had been waiting for our security deposit to be refunded and told it would be in our account no later than 7/21/23 close of business. We reached out on 7/21/23 to confirm that we still had not received it and were directed to call the company that manages their transactions, who confirmed that the refund was never initiated, despite claims that it was submitted immediately. They only submitted the deposit today after numerous requests.I feel we were treated unfairly and tricked into this situation and would like my application fee back. They could not have properly ran our application if they received a notice that our DTI was 41% when we are aware that our DTI is under 30%

In late June 2022 our family returned from a posting overseas and I am a veteran retired from the US **** (Reserves). WJD Management was contracted to served as property management for our house while we were away for 3 years. We moved back into our house on 9 July 2022. We have been unable to secure the back gate to our property because the former tenants left a locked (no key was turned over) padlock on the fence gate latch. This has recently become more urgent as we finally received our household effects (shipped back from overseas) and we now store valuables in fenced-in space. We have requested WJD Management send one of their technicians to our house to cut off the lock so that we can install our personal lock to secure. They have responded “…We are unfortunately unable to send someone out as the property has been closed out on our end; you will have to hire a contractor to come out and address that for you (sic)..” We don’t believe we should bear the cost of a contractor as this should have been identified during the final tenant inspection and either a key requested from the tenant or the cost of removing the lock passed on to the tenant. We have otherwise had a good experience with WJD but this lack of closure has left a sour taste. Please assist; we just need the lock cut off.
