I have been certified through NCCCO for 10 years. I recieved an email from NCCCO stating they had previously stated my recertification date INCORRECTLY as 31 Jan. 2023 and that my CORRECT recertification date wa 31 July 2023. I took and passed the recertification written exams on 4 FEB 2023. Yet NCCCO revoked my certifications anyways. NCCCO then required monetary payment of $140 for them to ***** me the ability to retake the practical exams for my certifications which are NOT required if an individual passes the necessary written exams within their recertification period. I appealed to the appeal board of NCCCO and was denied. I attempted to communicate the issue and provided the email I had recieved from NCCCO to their legal counsel and was simply taunted by legal counsel to file a lawsuit. NCCCO first denied sending me the email that stated my recertification deadline was 31 ajuly 2023, yet when I provided proof of email, NCCCO then changed their position to say I should have known that email was false!. I require my certifications be reinstated and I be reimbursed for the $140 that I was wrongfully charged by NCCCO to take tests I should NOT need. I believe this to be an attempt by NCCCO to generate funds at the expense of the individuals that require certifications to hold our jobs!

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

As per my originally submitted documents. NCCCO whether accurately or not, informed me via email that the 31 Jan 2023 recertification date was NOT ACCURATE,  and that the CORRECT  expiration date for my Certifications was 31 July 2023.  I DID complete and pass the required written recertification exams BEFORE 31 July 2023 by completing them on 4 Feb 2023.

Therefore as per NCCCO provided email, I complied and recertified. Any other excuses from NCCCO are not acceptable and they MUST reinstate my certifications and refund the $140 practical exam fees they incorrectly charged me.

    Regards,

Misleadingly, the Complainant would have the BBB focus on one incorrect date a single e-mail, while disregarding all of the other extensive evidence, in the hopes of procuring an unwarranted and unauthorized extension of his certification period.

In truth, as demonstrated in CCOs response to the complaint on June 16, 2023, there is no merit to the assertion by the Complainant that he was unaware of his true certification expiration. It is simply indisputable that the Complainant had full knowledge of his actual certification expiration date because it was printed on the original certification card which he carried in his wallet, and because it was at all times available for review via his myCCO account. Furthermore, CCO has identified at least four (4) specific communications (via e-mail and phone) between October 2022 and January 2023 through which the Complainant was explicitly advised of his correct expiration date. In addition, the Complainant directly discussed the recertification process and deadlines over the phone with staff in November 2022. Accordingly, it is beyond doubt that the Complainant was actually aware of his correct certification expiration date.

Significantly, the Complainant was afforded every courtesy and opportunity to present evidence or any statement to the Committee in support of his request, and he was explicitly notified of this opportunity. For unknown reasons, he opted not to do so. (So, not only did the Complainant fail to request an extension of his deadline prior to expiration, but he also failed to present any evidence or statement in support of his appeal.) Again, as noted in CCOs response, that Committees decisions are final. At this point, in light of CCOs policies and accreditation requirements, CCO staff has no authority to reinstate the Complainants accredited certification, and the continued demands to circumvent or violate CCO policy are inappropriate.

Under the circumstances, the Complainants most recent response is without merit and entirely unavailing.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

NCCCO now admits to providing inaccurate expiration date.  ALL other correspondence was considered to be inaccurate in regards to the Jan 31 expiration as per NCCCO correspondence indicating expiration of 31 July.

Therefore my recertification tests completed successfully on 4 Feb 2023 comply with Official correspondence from NCCCO stating my expiration was 31 July 2023 as proven by provided email.

All other excuses provided by NCCCO are solely to generate funds from fees that were not officially warranted.

This generation and incurring of fees amount to theft and electronic wire fraud.
