Within three of owning our 2023 Volvo ****, the paint was permanently damaged by leaves and water. I've tried with no avail to address the issue through Beyer Volvo of Dulles.On 10/24/22, I dropped off the car at a prominent detailing shop to have the paint corrected and a top-of-the-line protective ceramic coat applied. A wash and polish did not remove the paint damage. This was very unusual, especially for a new car. The detailing experts polished a second time with more stringent polishing agents and tools, and this appeared to remove most of the damage. The shop sent additional pictures to demonstrate as much. I took possession of the coated car on 10/26.On 10/29, hundreds of leaf prints appeared on the car. The detailer and multiple paint experts agreed that the paint on our car is defective and the leaf prints abnormally penetrated into it. Three weeks of rain and falling leaves should not have been able to do this type of damage to a brand new car. Further, two polishes should have been more than sufficient to remove the damage. We first reached out to Beyer Volvo and then to Volvo North America. We were told two times that Volvo does not take responsibility for the damage. Volvo said the ceramic coat caused the damage (it didn’t; leaves and water did) and Volvo then said that damage caused by external influences is not covered under warranty. I told both Beyer Volvo and Volvo USA why I disagreed with their decision. Ours is an extraordinary circumstance that falls so far outside what is normal, it's hardly reasonable to conclude that what our car was exposed to aligns with what Volvo deems "external influences." Our new car did not withstand even basic, normal elements. Not only has Volvo has refused to help fix the car, Beyer Volvo has refused to respond to my appeal via email and voicemails. Our brand new car's paint is clearly defective, and we think it’s reasonable to have Volvo fix it. They refuse to do so, and Beyer has stopped speaking with us.
