Buyer beware if you select Brandon Taylor do any construction type work for you. First off, the photo in his listing of photos with the brown rails on the deck where it looks like him and his crew are working, is my deck. My unfinished deck. Forgive the long post but I will not let him get away with doing what he did to me to another person if I can help it. After paying Brandon Taylor a deposit of $4100 on June 16th to extend and screen in my deck and add a ceiling fan, him and his crew did that little bit of demolishing on June 18th, and I have not seen him since. Every day there was a different excuse as to why he was a no-show for completing the job. It has been over 2 weeks since there has been any contact. So, not only has he taken my money, but he has also left me with an unusable deck that I am now forced to find and pay someone else to complete. I work hard for my pay, and I do not have it to give away, especially to unethical and dishonest people. He also lied when he said he applied for a permit for the electrical work for the ceiling fan because upon checking with the city, there are and have not been any permits filed for my address, which he told me he did and included on an invoice for $713- yet another part of the scam. Basically, he stole my money. I have filed action in small claims court, but I know even with a judgment entered on my behalf, I will probably never see my money. I try to see the good in people and give small business owners a chance, but this is despicable. I don’t know who wrote the good reviews for him but either they are family and friends lying on his behalf or he think he found a dummy. I am in unbelief. A couple of other points. He dropped off a few materials, which parts of them are not usable because the lumber is untreated and not for outdoor use, so that should tell you he doesn’t know what he is doing in the world of construction. Also, he tried to say the $4100 was for materials- that’s a lie because the few materials left don’t even equate to $1000 per 2 different contractors. I asked Brandon to return my money minus the few materials purchased and left or finish the job and he has yet to respond to either. He is not welcome on my property at this point to finish, but I am seeking legal remedy to at least try to recoup some of my money and I’m considering criminal charges because this is basically fraud and theft. You can see the materials left on my deck and as of the date of this review, Wednesday, July 14, 2021, the picture of the still unfinished deck! Please, please be wary of any promises and giving any money to him for remodeling work! This has made my life a living nightmare. Oh, last apparently, he moved and left no forwarding address when I mailed him the court papers so hopefully the sheriff can track him down. If that doesn’t scream scam artist, then I don’t know what does. I will also file this with the BBB, so that anyone considering hiring him can read this in as many places as possible. Like I said, as you can see the deck is demolished and imcomplete.
