Our A/C was not working in 2017 and our home warranty service assigned American Aire to repair it. A serviceman came to the house in early Jun 2017 to assess the problem, then returned on 10 Jun 2017, at which time we wrote a check for $******** for the replacement and installation of a new HVAC system (other expenses were covered by the warranty company). American Aire said they had completed the work and left, but we later learned they should have also replaced the air handler in the attic. The A/C was still not working and American Aire was not returning our calls, so we called the bank to cancel the check. The bank informed us the check had not yet been cashed and charged us $** to stop payment. In 2019, another HVAC company assigned to repair the A/C confirmed the air handler was not replaced and, in fact, American Aire installed a unit outside that was not the right size to match the air handler in the attic. We discovered in Feb 2022 that American Aire had actually cashed the check and the bank refunded our $20, but we have still not received the $******** or the unit replaced in the attic. American Aire is not returning our calls.
