On Saturday August 23rd, 2022 around 2:30pm I went to Safe Auto Trader to finish the purchase of a 2007 ******* ******** with  206k miles on it. Both the owner and business partner assured me that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. That the vehicle will not have a problem passing the VA emissions inspection. They assured me twice in front of other customer that it will pass emissions, just to drive it 50 miles before doing so, Well after I left the dealership around 3:30pm I drove home which is about 22 miles from the dealership. About 3 hours later I decided to drive a little more and at 16 miles after the check engine light turned on. I went to an Autozone right away and they stated that the vehicle had two warning codes ***** and ***** which is the catalytic converter that is bad. Without taking care of that the vehicle will not pass the Virginia Emissions Inspection. First thing on Monday at 9:00am I took the vehicle to be inspected by a mechanic at ******** Car Shop in Manassas VA, and they stated that the vehicle does need a new catalytic converter and also the timing belt can fault at any moment and damage the engine. Right after they told me that I headed back to the dealership and the business partner said that they will take care of the catalytic converter and he would get back to me. Almost a week after and they will not take care of the problem that they first assured me it didn't have and then assured me it will get fixed and as of 8/19/2022 I have not heard from them. I would like for Safe Auto Trader to fix the Catalytic Converter or reimburse me the amount of money is going to cost to fix it.
