We have received notification from the police regarding your Subaru, which is currently on our property. It appears that the vehicle has invalid stickers, lacks insurance, and has incorrect tags. Consequently, we had been instructed to tow it to our impound lot. As it has been here for 59 days, storage fees have accrued, resulting in a total bill of $4,900 (Please find the breakdown of the charges in the attached invoice). However, understanding the financial burden this may pose, we were willing to offer you the option to retrieve your vehicle for a reduced fee of $500. Since this doesn't seem to work for you, access to your vehicle will not be granted until the original outstanding bill has been settled. The only exception is if there are essential medical supplies within the vehicle, for which proof of prescription is required. As this does not apply in your case, we kindly request that you provide proof of full coverage insurance or settle the outstanding bill before access can be granted. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter and hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

VA State Law states that you can not refuse me of retrieving my personal property as I highlighted in the attachment provided my mother the owner of the car will be there with proof of ownership to collect all personal property

    Regards,

Per the VA code; upon proof, the owner of the vehicle can recover any personal itmes under the provisions of subsection E.   Here is the subsection: E. Any lien created under this section shall not extend to any personal property or cargo that is not attached to or considered to be necessary for the proper operation of any motor vehicle, and it shall be the duty of any keeper of vehicles to permit the owner of the vehicle or cargo to access the vehicle in order to recover his personal property or cargo, provided that the owner claims and retrieves the items at least two business days prior to the auction date. The keeper of vehicles may dispose of any unclaimed personal property or cargo. There was no lien on the vehicle at that time.  As soon as we get the title from the DMV, your mother can come get your personal items from the vehcile.
