This contractor was hired to do an energy efficiency test/install foam insulation in the roof of our house (initial contact was Sep/2021). The tech offered a deal that if we used them, and that he would apply the cost of the test to the cost of the rest of the project. I cancelled work with another contractor due to this deal, waiting for this company's availability, to get the work done. Since our energy bills range between $350-400 a month, it is essential we get this work done. Around 10 NOV, *************************** the owner-called out of the blue, asking to change the date of the project. After initially agreeing, we had to keep the original project date due to personal circumstances. I informed ***** as soon as I found out (next day). This man threw a fit about this on the way into my house. Then, when he came into our home, he began criticizing work we had done (after a catastrophic leak made to be able to make repairs), started going through my closets, demanding criticizing the items in these. After this, he claimed that we were "getting off cheap", even though it was his company that provided the pricing. He flat out refused to work with us as far as moving items on the third floor from one space to another, even tough it was obvious that we were living in the aftermath of a catastrophic leak, with no space to move things to. Then, the owner canceled the agreed upon follow up apt, never called/emailed to re-schedule. he did not answer follow up emails, and then claimed he is unavailable during the multiple times we were available. On 22 NOV, he sent an email late at night canceling the contract, after a sending a few abusive emails. Being that I canceled a project with another company earlier this summer- that would have saved us energy costs, because of the offer this company made us. I am demanding a full refund of all our funds ($395) not just the downpayment for the work (already refunded.)
