I first visited this shop for an oil change on 11/29/2021, I had no issues of any sort with my vehicle. The manager of the store did not mention, nor was it on any of my paperwork that there was anything wrong with my vehicle. I got my oil change and left. I just revisited this same shop today on 5/20/2022 for another oil change. This time however, the mechanic working on my vehicle said that the "threads in my oil pan were completely gone and they would have to put a temporary plug in it because my original plug would not go back in." They gave me an estimate for nearly $580 to completely replace my oil pan. I called back to the store with my brother who has worked for **** **** ***************** and Just tires for well over 7 years as a technician and service manager. My brother tried reasoning with the manager, saying that my oil pan was fine recently and their tech must have inserted the plug wrong, which destroyed the oil pan, so the store should replace my oil pan for free since they damaged it. The store manager immediately said " I am not doing that." My brother asked to speak to the district manager, to which the manager responded that "there is no district manager, I am the highest it goes" and outright refused to give us contact information for anyone he answers to. We tried finding information on our own, but they are franchised, not a corporate location. We tried calling back and asking again would they replace the pan, the manager said " I am NOT eating the cost of the pan, and I'm not going to sit here and go back and forth with you. This car has 170k miles and has has lots of oil changes. We had an issue getting the plug out last time, but were able to get it back in." My brother asked if he notified me of this problem or put notes in my paperwork that stated this. He responded no and said "it doesn't matter, I'm not eating the cost of the oil pan, we WILL NOT replace it for free." It should be mentioned my car only has 78K miles, not 170K.
