I found them by typing "TMJ relief" into Google search. They were a sponsored ad. I couldn't find out what they were, based on their website, so I gave them a call. The receptionist went into a 20 minute long story about how she had debilitating pain and nothing helped until she found The Lift. The phone call had me crying- I felt validated. The receptionist told me they have experimental technology, sound waves they use to realign the bones in your body. And a mouth guard. Then comes the day of the appointment. I brought my husband with me because I can't drive myself. We waited 45 minutes for the appointment, and while waiting heard the receptionist answering calls- the first red flag- she was telling everyone the same story she told me, word for word almost like a script. 45 minutes waiting while the "doctor" was on a video call. Finally he meets with us. I began the appointment by telling him about my teeth grinding, it broke my retainer and so I have a gap between my teeth, he replied with "Thats sexy." We continue on with the appointment, he does his exam and while doing so he pulls my husband over to "look at this" several times but never explained what my husband was looking at. He would then say "that definitely needs to be fixed" or "oo that's bad" definitely fear mongering. He noticed I was double jointed and started saying I have Ehlers Danlos. We continue on with the appointment, he wanted to do some scans of my head and neck. We did the scans and sat down to go over them. He told me my C1 was angled 8 and my C2 angled 5 he then told me my airway was abnormally small. He had a straw sitting on his desk and a Proctor, he pinched the straw with the procter and said that was my airway. The put a big emphasis on how they are doing "research" and "insurance isn't involved with what they do". After the free consultation appointment, I went back up to the receptionist. That's when she tells you the price. She gave me a printed sheet of my "Personal Treatment Plan" that looked like a highschool word doc. The total payment asked was $8600 no cents listed, not an official document. I didn't pay anything that day, I was planning to take a loan out to pay the $8600. Walking out of the building, my husband said to me "That didn't feel like a doctors appointment. It felt like they were selling us something." I went back to my primary care, and she requested the scans from The Lift Clinic. We waited a week, nothing from The Lift, I called again and they were very unwilling to send the scans to my primary care. Saying "the file format doesn't work for sending." So we got our own scans. MY C1 AND C2 ARE COMPLETELY NORMAL. MY AIRWAY IS NORMAL. The Lift PHOTOSHOPPED my scans to try and get MONEY! Let me also add, this guy didn't have any MDs or medical certification on his wall, it was all chiropractic. He cannot be diagnosing people with Ehlers Danlos and other things if he is not a doctor. Unfortunately the paperwork you fill out for the free consultation, includes your SS number.
