ENCORE SPEAKERS FROM TEKTON DESIGN Buyer Beware! After approximately 367 days, I received all my orders. Set up started months after gathering all components. First, I found out that these speakers had no peg-holes to install the grilles. Second, the quality of these grilles was the worst I have seen for speakers that cost thousands of dollars. The company stapled grille cloth on wooden frames and sprayed paint on them. However, they offered to send me Velcro or the template. I chose the template but had no further response. This was the beginning of very painful experiences.After many months of break-in period, it became very clear that these speakers were not properly balanced. The high frequency was not crips and defined. The mid-range was high. The mid bass was good. The bass was so bad that I began to wonder why the four 10-inch woofers lacked clear and powerful bass articulation. Also, rattling noises were coming from behind the dust cap of one woofer. I replaced the woofer with the same kind. While replacing the woofer, a small round yellow object fell out of the noisy woofer. I did not know whether that caused the rattling. But what I found out next left me speechless.In the process of replacing the woofer, I found out that Tekton Design shipped to me speakers that were built with four 6-ohm 10-inch woofers. But I ordered 4-ohm speakers, as recommended by the company. This raises very important questions. Is it possible to build a 4-ohm speaker by parallel-wiring two 6-ohm 10-inch woofers? Experts said NO, that this would create problems. Is this a mistake or a hidden deceptive business practice? With inadequate or no product descriptions on the company`s website; levels of inefficiencies; and inconsistencies in the materials used in making specific product line, knowing what to expect from Tekton Design is far-fetched.
