Our experience at this Aamco has been very unprofessional. To start things off, we were given an estimate over the phone for a used transmission replacement. Replacing our broke transmission with a used reputable one from one of there vendors. We were quoted over the phone, not through a written estimate or an email, only verbal. That it should be about $1000 for the transmission cost and shipping. Then we were quoted $1500 for labor, and $150 for Transmission Fluid. So that equals out to $2650. We go in to get the used transmission ordered to get the ball rolling, my wife pays the $1000 on her card, with them giving no receipt or invoice. Part arrives, we come back about a week later when we have more money. Now they are quoting us another $2054, not $1650. We scrounge together more funds, and pay it the following week when we have enough money, not expecting it would be that much. During this whole time, never received a written estimate. Now we are $3054 invested into this repair. And they inform us that the transmission from there reputable vendor has an error code, and can't drive on the highway, but can in town. Now they are telling us the warranty of the transmission they got only covers parts, not labor, which is another $1500. The warranty was never explained, and the cost of potential labor was never explained, and nothing was written or sent over to email. We are broke, and still don't have a functioning vehicle. Every other mechanic i have been to has given a written estimate for services, and usually asks for a signature. This has been the worst experience with a mechanic yet. And very costly

0/5 stars. Went there because they said they have free inspections.. They don't, they will still charge about $80. This is the smallest complaint I have. Because of the $80 we were pressured into letting them fix our torque converter which was the problem. I deeply regret ever working with them.. ?? Their second lie was they said they would price match. When I got 5+ quotes that were $1500+ less, they would only discount the price about $200. 3rd lie was they would fix it all within a day. 5 days later, we finally got our car back. They did fix the original issue, but immediately after we had another problem with it shaking at a certain speed. They found out it was the cv axle. The 4th, 5th, 6th lie etc. was that there was 100% no chance they could have broken the cv axle when they took it apart to fix the transmission (even though they had already admitted to breaking another part while putting it back together). They refused to do this work under my recent warranty even though I never had this issue before they took apart the transmission and it was 90% chance their fault. They also said the part was going to be $1100 to replace, that they had called around to 3 different stores and that was the price. They told me that this part was the only part that would ever last longer than a month. They tried to get me by saying they'd do the less than an hour of labor for free. Luckily I know trustworthy mechanics so I took it to them. They found the SAME EXACT PART for $130.... They were trying to charge me $1000 over what the part cost and then act like they were all nice for not charging for 45 minutes of labor. The complaint is that they would not fix what they broke, and now I'm having to go to another mechanic to get everything they broke fixed.
