• Advertising Review:

  BBB promotes truth in advertising by contacting advertisers whose claims conflict with the BBB Code of Advertising.  These claims may come to our attention from our internal review of advertising, consumer complaints and competitor challenges.  BB asks advertisers to prove their claims, change ads to make offers more clear to consumers, and remove misleading or deceptive statements.

   

  On October 10, 2022Y, BBB contacted Cutting Edge Window Tinting in regards to advertised claims on their website https://cuttingedgetintdfw.com.  Cutting Edge Window Tinting advertises: “Humbly serving the Dallas/Fort Worth area for more than 10 years.”  On October 1, 2022, Cutting Edge Window Tinting stated on their Facebook page they were going into their “third year of business.”
  
  

  BBB Code of Advertising states the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser.  Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast.  Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB.

  
  BBB requested Cutting Edge Window Tinting to substantiate the business start date by providing any documentation that would substantiate the business start date of 2020.
  
  

  Cutting Edge Window Tinting advertises on their website they offer a “Lifetime Guarantee.”

   BBB’s Code of Advertising states, when advertising “lifetime” warranties or guarantees or similar representations, the advertisement must clearly and conspicuously disclose the intended meaning of the term “lifetime.”

  BBB requested Cutting Edge Window Tinting provide BBB with a copy of their Lifetime Warranty that is provided to their customers and modify their website and advertisements to clearly and conspicuously include the intended meaning of “lifetime.”

  Cutting Edge Window Tinting filed to substantiate, modify or discontinue the advertisements.
