I've had my Daiken almost 4 years. Constantly (almost monthly) having to clear the drain from from mold buildup. I understand about weather (location) and preventative maintenance. I've had 3 other brands, 2 at the same location. Never had a problem to this extent, EVER. Now my compressor and board went out. I know stuff breaks. But, I will update my review if and when parts arrive. Hopefully, in a reasonable time. "Note" I bought/invested in this A.C. brand because of their reliability. I'm a veteran with disabilities and don't want to burden my wife or put her in harms way. Nor can I keep up the pace needed to keep these chasing these issues. Goodman’s record in providing consumers with a well-designed, long-lasting product is among the best in the industry. However, despite the careful testing of each unit, problems can occur.Should problems occur, we offer a Limited Parts Warranty. Replacement parts obtained from authorized distributors are new and the functional equivalent of the original part. The replacement part installed in your unit inherits the warranty left on your unit. If there is no warranty on the unit, then the part has a one-year manufacturer’s warranty. The request for a replacement unit is to be made by the licensed HVAC contractor directly to the authorized distributor. The distributor then will assess the situation, possibly send out a technical representative to evaluate the existing unit, and then decide on whether they will replace the unit.
Please have your contractor contact his local authorized distributor and voice his concerns regarding your unit.

Buyer beware!!! Do not purchase Goodman AC products!! I wouldn't even give 1 star but you have to, to submit a review & people need to know!!!! Their products, customer service, service techs & regional tech support are all useless. They give you the runaround, they are full of excuses and do not support their faulty products or their customers. DO NOT waste your money!!!!!. It cost me over $10,000 in repairs & the ultimate replacement of a 5 year old unit. Their phone message states “excellent customer service” what a joke!!! Purchased a brand new goodman condenser. The shipper dropped it at home. Package looked ok so signed the delivery note. Upon opening condenser coil is crushed from bottom up with oil leak on the pan. Goodman is reluctant ro replace and blames it on independent seller. Seller says it is shipped by goodman and they should take responsibility. Have a small child at home and no AC. Daikin customer service is horrible, and they do not support their product. Our mini split unit caught on fire due to an internal issue( according to the repair companies). We contacted customer service (Luke********* immediately and he was very little help. He told us we needed to look on the Daikin website to find a certified vendor to inspect/make warranty repairs. We did this and the vendor told us the unit cannot be repaired and must be replaced entirely as it would be dangerous to just make repairs. We contacted Daikin and they said they will not replace the unit. We decided to get 2nd opinion, the vendor made the exact same findings/said he would not make repairs to the system. They contacted Daikin directly and Daikin still refused to replace the system, even though the fire was caused by a faulty part which was still under warranty. Daikin said they would replace the parts, but they would not replace the unit. Both vendors said new parts would not fix the problem and neither company wanted the liability if the unit caught on fire again. We connected with Luke again requesting that Daikin pay for any portion of the replacement, and they refused. As we couldn’t afford to replace the unit, we felt we had no choice but to try to make repairs. We asked Luke/Daikin to provide us with a certified repair company that would be willing to replace the parts as we have been unable to find anyone to do so. We have not received a response from Luke/Daikin even after mutable attempts. We have been waiting for some resolution to this matter for over 3 months now. We have contacted other venders and after letting them know what has transpired they have no interest in reinspecting the unit. We still have no heating or air in our home and the two estimates we have to replace the unit are about $10,000. It’s absurd to think a large company like Daikin will not stand behind their products. I purchased a Daikin split 2 years ago and I couldn't be more unhappy with it. This week, a valve was found faulty (via phone diagnostics with my servicer and Daikin) and needed to be replaced. Per warranty, they paid for the cheap valve, and I paid for labor and replacement of the freon leaked because of the valve. The unit still didn't work. So then I paid for lengthy diagnostic time my laborer spent on the phone with them to say that another part (Electronic TXV) needs to be replaced. They will send the part, but I'll be paying for the diagnostic time (again) and labor to install (apparently nobody has ever had to replace one, so we'll see how that goes), and I'm up to $1,500 in labor costs. All Daikin ever has to say is "per warranty we only pay for parts." But when those faulty parts cause expensive fixes, they don't even consider being responsible. I'll never purchase anything else from this company again and strongly recommend that nobody else does, either.Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response

I do apologize for the difficulties you have experienced. Our manufacturer warranty extends to cover any mechanical parts within the unit. We are unable to provide coverage for anything beyond what is outlined in the manufacturer warranty, so any refrigerant or labor would not be covered. If your technicians are unable to diagnose or resolve the issue with your unit, we recommend they contact our technical support department. If you are no longer wanting to work with your HVAC service company, you would need to find another HVAC company in your area to assist. Thank you!

I had Goodman HVAC units installed on 04/22/2018. So far I've had 2 coils replaced and an accumulator. The installer did not to tell me to register my units for a 10-year parts warranty resulting in the parts being covered for only 5 years. The second coil broke on 02/06/2024, i called Goodman to see if they would help me out by warranting the part as it is very expensive. They bluntly told me NO. I asked for a supervisor, and he said the same. I have over 4 thousand dollars in repairs already. 10 months out of the warranty and they should have done the right thing. This product is garbage. I'm retired and for the last few days i have taken my case to social media with phenomenal results. I urge everyone stay away from any Goodman product.Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response

Unfortunately, your unit only had a 5-year warranty, and anything outside of the first 5 years from the installation date is not covered. Stay far away from Daikin! Spent over 10k for this unit 2 years ago and have had technicians out to my house once every 3 months ever since. Had two blower motors replaced two coils replaced and a whole inside unit replaced within 2 years. Terrible product. Now it keeps tripping my breaker so now a technician is coming out again, it’s comical at this point. Would rather rip the ac unit out the wall and live off of open windows than have to pay service fees 10 times a year.Daikin Comfort Manufacturing LP Response

I've had my head unit replaced 2 times in less than 3 years. Now that head units arent available, they replaced the coil and heater still doesnt work after I had to pay for the labor costs. My Daikin heatpump system failed 3 years in, I've had both the compressor and the motherboard in the air handler replaced and the system is still not functional after three weeks. The '4-5 business days' for ordering parts turned into weeks. Now another part needs to be ordered. I am in Canada in the coldest month of the year. The team doing the repairs reports that technical service is terrible; on hold for hours, dropped calls, etc. Several companies refused to even attempt the repair, I was grateful to find the company I hired. But I've payed $'000s already and still don't have heat. Don't buy Daikin!
