They are the worst!!! They chrged me as many fees as possible and made it very difficult to transfer my money out without incurring tax risk on a tax free IRA ******** The support people are only for the online portal and it is impossible to get actual contact with whatever financial institution actually has my money. Stay away! And if your employer puts you here get the money out as fast as you can.

Thank you for sharing your experience and we hear that this must have been frustrating. Based on our review, your retirement plan account was moved to an ***.  When an employee terminates employment, JULY sends a communication piece explaining your distribution options and gives you time to make a choice.  If you do not reply after 45 days, we move your retirement account to an ***--which is explained in the notice. The *** is a tax deferred account, just like your 401k retirement account.

It looks like your account was established in early September and was available to you on September 16th. You would have also received a welcome letter giving you instructions to setup your account. You can access this account on ************************. It then looks like your account was activated on November 17th, and you spoke with the ************* team on September 18th then requested a distribution payable to you directly.  When you request funds from an ***, it is required to withhold income federal taxes.

We certainly apologize that this transaction was not smooth and we'll take your feedback into consideration when looking for ways to create a better client experience.

    Sincerely,

    July Business Services

Participant support is nonexistent, unless you are able to dedicate an absurd amount of time sending repeated emails and long hold times and multiple calls due to lack of response from them. Inadequate, is a fair assessment of this company.

Incompetent staff. Could not follow instructions for 401k rollover by overnight checkthey charged me the fee for the overnight, but did not execute it. Then they were to stop payment on the check and wire the funds instead, but they didnt understand that an ACH transfer is different from a wire transfer and screwed that up, too. This has been going on for more than 10 days without resolution.

On behalf of JULY, I would like to apologize for your experience in processing your transaction.  Typically, rollover distribution requests are not available for overnight delivery, and you were able to make the request and were charged a fee. I also understand that you spoke to a few managers who were assisting in correcting and expediting; however, the wire was then submitted incorrectly. Based on an update from the management team, JULY is refunding you the overnight delivery fee, plus lost earnings. We are reviewing this particular process to improve  the client experience. Again, we apologize for this mishap.

I wish you could leave 0 stars. They company I worked for sold, that held the 401K they sent an email in January during the sell when we had to roll out of JULY as we were changing to a different company and I had get through a million different things with insurance, new hire paperwork, etc. **** then sent us another email 1 week before we had to close the account. i was told several things, we are going to transfer you into an **** we don't know the fees or who but they are high and you'll loose all your money in a year due to fees. another employee told me i can leave it in JULY and nothing would happen. another said I have a month they are just threating people to make moves so they can get it closed. blah blah blah lots of stories in 2 weeks. When I called to cash out they said they already sent it to the *** ******** but I could cash out if I got the form in that day. I sent the form 30 mins later that day. Last night I received an email saying my account was sent to the *** I could not cash out an the new company will send me a letter in the mail!!!! no time line, being told one thing by a customer service rep and another team cant even call me to tell me that rep was incorrect, just sends a rude email. POOR POOR POOR customer service and training, I am very disappointed in the lack of knowledge and empathy when dealing with peoples lives and money.

I want to let you know that your account is in the process of being setup with JULYIRA. You should be able to reach out soon, and you will receive a confirmation by mail of your account establishment.  You may read about the program at: www.julyira.com.

Next, I want to share that due to your company's acquisition, they terminated the retirement plan. When a plan is terminating, there are several steps and IRS/DOL filings that must be completed before the assets can be distributed. Usually during the process, we are communicating with employees or participants and obtaining their distribution elections. Also, with a plan termination, there is a final date that all paperwork must be received as the remaining assets are being liquidated. If we do not have instructions on file, our procedures direct us to transfer to an IRA.

With your situation, it looks like you contacted us on 6/10 to request paperwork, and on 6/13 we received your request to rollover, but the account and mailing information were incomplete. **** followed up with you on: 6/14, 6/18, 6/21, 6/25, and 6/27. The plan was scheduled and did liquidate on 7/1.  Without complete instructions, our procedures are to send your funds to an IRA.

I apologize that we were unable to get the last minute request in to cash out your account. We typically don't allow changes to transactions that are in process.

Once your account is established, you will be able to request a rollover to an account of your choosing.

My employer set up a 401k plan through this company. I had a loan with them I wanted to pay off. We sent a cashier's check over night. A couple weeks later, I looked at my account and they had not given me credit. I was still having funds taken out of my paycheck for the loan I paid off. It turns out they applied the check I sent to someone else's account even though I filled out all of the paperwork they made me fill out as part of the payoff and included it with the cashier's check. Calling them on the phone is not easy, as the number on their website doesn't seem to work. I tried to add the number on here, but the BBB system won't let me post this with the number When you call that number, it is no good. I tried the number twice, as I wrote this review. It says, "the number you dialed is not in service at this time. Thank you for calling. Good bye." Two weeks later, I am still trying to get ahold of them, and no one seems to call back or help us. When I got someone on the phone, he said, "your employer is moving to a different company anyway." I am nervous that in the transition, the funds I paid don't get applied and I end up losing the money. I would like to have this resolved, but they don't call back, or give any sort of customer service.

We apologize for the delay and frustration you experienced.  I understand that your payment was applied to your spouse's account in error, but has been corrected.  I have asked the Manager of Participant Services to contact you directly.

I lost my job with a company and they sent my small 401K to July. $76 I believe. I asked July to disburse it to my bank account. ************************* days later after multiple calls and being told its on its way I was told on the 15th business that my small amount went to processing fees. The did not give me any of my funds. Just kept the $76. Now days that a lot of money to me. Shame on this company.
