  This company is a complete SCAM and should be investigated. Im not sure if this is an American Amicable issue or the sub contractors they use to solicit people for their business but the whole process was a SCAM from the start. This should be illegal and our BBB offices should be working to protect us from this type businesses. I am a 100% disabled veteran and when they took the money from my account it put me in the negative with a $25 charge from my bank for an over the limit charge after American Amicable took $192.09 from my bank account. They said after calling and cancelling my policy they stated it would take 30 days for the funds to be placed back into my account. After reading some of the reviews on American Amicable Insurance Company Im not sure if I will even get refunded. I hope the BBB will do their due diligence and investigate this insurance company practices. Namely, American Amicable Insurance Company. I hadnt verbally agreed or signed any insurance contract so how would my family be able to file a claim for recovery if something happened to me. There is nothing in writing and I hadnt agreed to the policy so what would make the policy payable. This is nothing more than a FRAUD and a SCAM and our BBB should do something about these practices.

  ******** claims operation. Waited 80 minutes to speak to a rep!! After **** came on the phone, she said the claim was not payable because "cause of death was pended". Cause was cancer and old age!!! This is a straight forward Life claim and there is no reason to delay it. American-Amicable/Occidental Life of ************** should be banned from selling Life Insurance. Find a reputable insurer that doesn't take every avenue to avoid legitimate claims.

  SCAM SCAM SCAM 0 stars scam insurance will not cancel claim they are following hippa laws but this is false. I was scammed by someone claiming to be on marketplace for insurance they were included in the scam taking over ******* from my bank. Been attempting to cancel via phone and email since 1 week after they took out of my bank. Now they are claiming they need a wet signature even tho they give the option to fax or email. They have been blocked and reported for fraudulent activity. Shut them down before they get more people. Taking peoples hard earned money!

  This company is a scam. I've called 8 times to cancel my policy and I am put on hold for ***** minutes with no response or answer to my call. I had to close out my bank account and open a new one so that they couldn't take anymore money out of my account. This ********************** is trash and a fraud. Don't EVER use them or their affiliates

  This company is a complete scam. IM IN SALES! The way this company deceives people is beyond moral compass. Im not here to vent or complain, Im here hoping that someone will see this and trust me when I say DONT DO IT. I literally had an agent from this company and an actual insurance agent with some self respect and integrity, on the phone together on a three way call. Im not educated in this field so I just decided to get them both on the line and hash it out. This company was proved to be a scam and tried to fool me in real time! Im glad I listened to my gut instinct and caught this before it was too late. I want this to be documented as well in case Im forced to take legal action against American amicable also have recordings of the agent lying to my face. Bottom line, if you want a real health insurance professional ***** ***** this is your guy.

  In February 2023, a salesman visited my home and made a very convincing offer. Also convinced to drop an insurance policy I had been paying eleven plus years, stating I could stop payments with them and receive a reduced policy. He would submit paperwork so I can still receive a benefit of Four thousand and change. I never received copies of the forms allegedly sent or ant confirmation from either company. Now I received a letter from Bankers Life Insurance that my coverage will terminate on November 25, 2025. I have been paying this company for two years and have not been able to get any customer service support, not even from the agent who came to my home, always not available. I wish I had check reviews long before I signed with them. I would like to know how I can get reimbursed so I may purchase with a reputable company. Be warned the agent appears very sincere, stated he was being treated for cancer but was not giving up. I have to wonder if this also was a lie.

  My mother has been gone for over 4 months. You can't get anyone on the phone unless you have time to wait a minimum of 40 minutes. The company that handled her funeral expenses still have not been paid. They have stated that they haven't received the paperwork requested three times after there has been a confirmation email stating that they HAVE received it. Of course, we resend the paperwork every time! This is beyond ridiculous. It was beyond ridiculous after the first confirmation email. How this company is still in business is beyond me. We made sure for YEARS that her payments were made ON TIME. How exactly are they running their business??? It's very difficult to settle her estate with this HUGE piece of business still not being taken care of. Dealing with all the minute details of a parent's death is hard enough and this company is just making it harder. I will never do business with this company again and I truly hope that they change their practices for the sake of others. I don't wish this experience on anyone.

  A horrible company to do business with, they take your money and return nothing, after ten years of paying them we recently attempted to speak with an agent to convert our policies to something more affordable after three tries we finally got a woman to contact us, weeks went by she called and got our personal info and said she was looking at a few other options ie companies to convert our policies, and then she dropped off the map. weeks went by and we sent emails that got returned, phone calls where we left messages that never got responses, finally i got on the companies website a joke, and got three different agents phone numbers and each one hung up on me as soon as i said amicable life insurance no explanation. even the main company number i called and was put on perm hold , after two hours i finally gave up. ive read others saying pretty much the same thing, im so glad nothing had happened to file a claim as nobody would be around to file a claim with. maybe someone over in ***** over the phone. they told me they would cancel the monthly payment but i don't trust them to do that and contacted my bank and had them stop payment on a perm basis cost me $30 bucks but well worth the peace of mind as i do not trust them to stop payment on their own. Avoid this company like it was on fire, horrible customer service, unable to contact anybody and they hang up on you when you do get someone.
