My father purchased this policy 2years ago. He passed away 1/23/2024. The lost of a parent is already hard and was even worse for me and my siblings. We lost both parents within 2years apart. I understand his policy was in contestable stage. The issue was the lack of compassion and knowledge with phone reps and their horrible 3rd party company Mediaflash that request the medical records. The daily different information received by customer service was horrible and I would suggest better training. On lady told me we need medical records from the ** the.date of.treatment 1/23/24. Im like how is that possible when he passed in a non VA hospital on that day he wasn't treated at the ** in over 2yrs. She was nonchalant and didn't read anything on his file. To say the least their customer service is HORRIBLE. Let me talk about Mediflash. They did nothing. I went and got the 2000 page hospital records. Called customer service they still waiting on VA records. They refused to fax request to the VA. Telling me they made 3 request for records from the **. I made one call to VA the lady said she talked to mediaflash and told them nothing never recieved. I went to a ***** store and had the documents I signed for release of records to be sent to mediaflash and the records were sent out the same day. This company is a joke. My dad was paying them$73 a month and the process the claim in a timely fashion. It was like I worked for them and their employees got paid to lie and sit on their butts.Review from DARRELL B

This company is not holding up to the standards of what their sales rep are selling. I paid for life insurance and the next month the company I was employed by closed because of covid-19. I called the sales rep that sold the policy to me and informed him that I can no longer afford this policy due to unemployment and asked to cancel my policy and he said that it will be taking care of. The sales rep did not cancel my policy because he would not be paid when I canceled off of my policy. When I checked my bank account, I saw that this company was still taking payment from me. I spoke to various agents and no results took place. Then I received a letter saying that they cannot refund any of my money that was which was not authorized by me. For those who would like a life insurance policy do not deal with this company.Review from Richard M

I was told I would recieve my payment for my Dads death. I now just was told that they are not paying the claim because of his medical history not being reported which he gave this company all of his medical history. It's takin 8 months to get this decision and I now cannot bury my father. Worst life insurance company I ever seen. They will try everything to not pay the life insurance in full. They sent my father's premiums back and told me to appeal it which is so ridiculously outrageous being its only a $10000 dollar insurance claim. DONT USE THIS COMPANY BECAUSE THEY DO NOT PAY OUT THE FULL POLICY AFTER YOUR LOVE ONES **** AWAYReview from William L

Company calls me 2-3 times a day from ***** fro over 3 week now. They call froma different caller-ID every time, usually using my area code. Each time I asked them to stop calling but they continued calling, so finally, I pretended to be interested and spent 20 minutes on the phone responding to questions for an application for whole life coverage. Eventually they asked me for my bank account information and I said I could call them back and give it, but they called me, so I'm not giving it out over the phone on the current call. The caller gave me an 800- number I could call to assure me it was safe, but later I discovered it was a fake number. The caller then pressed me three more times for my bank information and I politely declined and said I would call them with it. He then called me a ************ and a s*************, And said I wasted his time. I explained that they call me multiple times per day and I wanted them to stop. He then hung up the phone. I am appalled at the horrible experience with this company. I have spoken to six different representatives with the last one being a Manager. These representatives are useless with them disconnecting me never calling me back even after I relay to them that if we get disconnected to please call me back and giving me inaccurate information. The time wait on hold is over an hour with a few times being 44 or higher in line to speak to a representative. One representative guaranteed me that she would call me back on Monday, November 17th and send me an email which she NEVER follow through. I spoke to a Manager on Wednesday, November 29th and after he kept me on the phone for over *************************************************************************************************************************************** at 3:00 pm the following day on November 30th and again this MANAGER never followed through. I have exhausted all my efforts in trying to resolve this problem and because of this irresponsible company I am cancelling my policy. I have no idea who this company is on top of this as I have had Occidental Life Insurance for 33 years and now I am receiving letters from this company that Im assuming is my Life Insurance Company. I will NEVER understand how a company like this can have so many incompetent employees working for them including a Manager that has no business being in the position that he in in.Review from Terrence B

I never finalized the life insurance. I told them I didn't want to go through with it and they took a payment out of my account. I then called them and cancelled it. I had to sign a form and send back to them, so the next month they took out another payment without my consent. Now the excuse is my signature don't match , we did it online so what signature. This company is working with and contracting with agents who skirt the DO NOT CALL LIST law by using robo calls to call with hidden numbers and then being handed off to one of their agents. Read the responses from American Amicable Life . They come across as a picked last in phys ed ***** clinging to a technicality in a rule book or a crooked lawyer with a very thin plausible deniability claim. A caring and upfront company would be ashamed to operate this way. Call the 800 number and see the waiting que time . Must be doing a lot of great things ! Since they home invaded me , using equipment I pay for to keep in touch with 90 and 81 year old parents then its only fair that I check in on them every day via the 800 number . Maybe I can make the wait time even longer , saving someone an interaction with them . I hope everyone would return their favor . Well I am thinking of starting a lawn service and uber service using the neighbors lawnmower and car . They paid for an awsome mower and car, might as well put it to use.Review from Don M

Don't trust them. They provide no friendly customer support and even call you a liar. Don't need them.
