I contacted the company and spoke to ***** on August 6th and 9th about the issues we are having with the back pedestrian door not closing due to being installed wrong, and the front roll up door does not stay closed unless you lock it and the right lock sticks so you have to use a wrench to slide it over to unlock it. Both doors are unusable and it has been almost 1 month since I have heard anything from your company. We have hired our own contractor to come and fix the issues due to your companies lack of communication and professionalism. We are seeking a refund for the doors and the labor that we paid as they were not installed correctly and can not be used as is.

We sent an install crew to check the operation of the roll up door in October and they told our dispatch department that it was operating correctly. I will contact Mr. ********** (left voicemail 12/21)  to get a better understanding of his view of the issue and we are open to discussing a settlement of some kind.

In Sept of 2024, Safeguard installed a 30'w x 40'l metal building on my property. When performing an install with their "professional" installers, they drove a telehandler on my driveway to install the trusses of the building. The building could have been built from the 3 sides as there was a vacant lot along the South side of the building. The telehandler rented had a reach of 42 so reaching from the side would have been easy to do. As professional installers, they should have know not to drive over the concrete driveway. i sent pictures to the scheduler but it didn't go anywhere. I called several times and left messages and nobody returned my call. I finally spoke to a manager and he said that they needed to set the building from the driveway, I informed him it was not necessary and proceeded to tell him why and that the lot next to it was vacant. I asked him to visit the site and explain to me why it was necessary but he never came out. I have since called many times to speak to a manager I am either hung up on or sent to voice mail after talking to the receptionist. I leave messages every time but there has not been a call back. The concrete driveway is cracked and it is a result of the installers and could have been avoided if they built it from the side. This company is responsible for the repairs to the driveway. There is no reason for this damage and it should not be an expectation of building these structures.

Our standard procedure for installs that require a lift is to approach the building directly from the front to set the trusses in place. Any area that we are not allowed to operate equipment on has to be communicated to us verbally or by clearly marked. This was not done.  Trusses can be set from the side by using a strap attached to the forks and trusses. This requires a telehandler with longer reach and a scissor lift or similar man lift to remove the strap once in place. We did not discuss this with the customer at the beginning of the install because we were not told we needed to work from the side of the building. Mr. ******* has been offered $1750.00 in compensation.

The terms of the contract were changed 3 times and my down payment amount was changed and the amount of the carport was increased. When I wouldnt agree to the increase I was told my down payment would be refunded. Now Im being told I will not get a refund.

************************* agreed to purchase a carport cover from one of our distributors and gave them a check for the initial deposit. He decided later to cancel the order and is seeking a refund from Safeguard Metal Buildings.

The deposits on our orders are paid to and retained by the dealers as compensation for the sale. We collect the balance when the building is installed. Safeguard Metal Buildings has not collected any money from ****************** since the order was cancelled before installation. The distributor who collected the deposit was Integrity Outdoor Products LLC in ********* **. Please let ** know if you have further questions.

Purchased metal building from Cardinal Carports. Job was subbed out to Safeguard Metal Buildings of *****. Safeguard Metal Buildings immediately attempted to get me to alter my order from colored garage doors to basic white. Stated they didnt do any other than white. I informed them that I paid for color and built it that way. They said I would have to wait longer. After 5 months, I contacted company for progress update and every week or two after for updates. They offered to build my building without doors and I declined. Approximately ******************************* for scheduling because they had my doors. That following Monday, the crew showed up and began construction WITHOUT doors. After sitting exposed for a time, and cleaning out dirt, debris, livestock from the metal structure, I informed them with no updates on job completion, that I would need to contract doors with someone else on the condition that they would reduce my balance with them by the door cost from the other company. They said I could do that and to keep them updated. So today, after one year to the day since ordering, they have been unwilling to adjust final bill to reflect door cost. I have emails, text messages and phone records if I need to documenting their fraud. Im asking that the final bill of $6849.17 be adjusted down by $1210.00 to cover doors as the total price for doors was $2610. They declare that their doors (that dont exist) only cost $1400 and not willing to adjust any further. Even with receipt from other company

I purchased a 2 car garage from safeguard buildings through a local agent for almost $20,000.00 , both doors failed (8 tall 10 wide Rollup doors ), I have been in touch with safeguard on several occasions and my local agent who did their best to help. I drove to the buildings location near **** ** and bought one door and the company sent contractors out on two occasions to look at making door #2 work and both times it was apparent the door had issues. I had a third party install the door I picked up and it is great and they tried their best to make the 2nd door work but could not. Their assessment was it was not manufactured correctly. Safeguard would not replace the door because I had the building spray-foamed,(Spay-foam is not touching the doors) and a third party involved working on the 2nd door. Each time contractors came out they would find nothing wrong blaming unlevel concrete and spay-foam and possibility I ran into the door at some point with my vehicle ( the door had obvious issues) and safeguard backed the contractor. I bought a second door from them and was told by my local agent someone up in the company would contact me for a resolution, it has been 2 weeks now waiting I know they will come back with a lengthy reply how I voided a warranty due to contractor being involved but the bottom line is I made every attempt to get safeguard to work towards a solution but this group works together to pass blame from the company and turn their back on customers they get their money throw up the building get you to sign off and now I say buyer beware this is my 5th building through the same dealer and my first issue but my last safeguard building. I have an estimate $2,000 invested in getting these doors fixed and the second door is not yet installed i calculate another $350.00 to get it installed. I do have receipts. Regards RM

    Good Afternoon ******************,

I do hate you had an unsatisfactory experience with your latest install. We do our best to meet all our customers needs. We did send out for a Inspection of the Roll ** in question. Even with modification done to your unit which does void warranty. On 05/09/2023 a Sub-Contractor went out to your location to evaluate the roll up door. He did take video proof and pictures that showed roll up door's are working without any issues. (Sub-Contractor did state he did clean off the rails of the roll up door, which had splatters of insulation.) Contractor Reported that both door's were working perfectly fine without the need to be replaced. We have video's and pictures on ******************** file.

We will contact **************** and try to reach a satisfactory resolution.

    Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because:
It is more of the same I know the door is not working right there is no comparison between the ease of operation of the door referred to in this complaint is hard to lift due to a faulty curtain the contractors tell me one thing on site and the office another, I am positive I can take the same video of the door moving up and down, and say it is ok but the bottom line is the door is not working correctly compared to the other door I replaced due to the same issue there is no comparison. I chose to have a local door installer look at it and try to fix it if they would have been successful we would not be hashing this, their assessment was a faulty curtain. Me voiding a warranty is nothing more than an excuse.
We can bat this around until another 6 months pass you know my stance

    Regards,

I ordered a metal building from ***********************. They outsourced my purchase to Safeguard Metal building. Safeguard informed me my delivery date would be 2 May in the afternoon. I received a call on 1 May from them telling me they would reschedule me for 12 May due to a scheduling conflict with another customer. Because of the cancellations on their part, I had to reschedule my appointment for the electrical and insulation. I received another call on 9 May informing me that they will cancel my appointment indefinite due to an issue with another customer. I think its very unprofessional to not try to satisfy the customer. I had to cancel my appointments with the electrician and insulation specialist. Im spending money because of this delay. I cant get my deposit back so Im just stuck without a resolution. Its very unfair to cancel the same customer twice and not provide a new delivery date. I would like a payment adjustment and new delivery date.
