Signed a statement of work to remove existing screens on the rear patio, and the purchase and installation of patio windows to include a screen door. The task was accomplished by the DWR sub-contractor who removed existing screens and installed several windows to enclose the patio. The sub-contractor leader responsible conducted one visit at the house and a second about midway in the project. All other tasks were accomplished solo by different individuals. e.g. demolition, window and screen door installation, wiring, caulking, painting, clean-up, and so forth. The final task was completed by painting the trim on the screen door and miscellaneous other areas. The sub-contract leader nor anyone else conducted a final walk-thru to create a punch list if necessary to identify tasks. A few days after completion my wife (***** ****) and I were cleaning the patio and discovered one window would not remain open. Contacted DWR for a repair or replacement of the window. Their response was the Window Manufacturer was responsible for the repair or replacement. DWR contacted the Window Manufacturer subcontractor who over a course of two or more weeks failed to reach out to us for a calendar date of repair. In the interim, immediately after the installation was accomplished DWR wanted and we complied with making the final payment. My wife and I are both over the age of 80 and did not realize a final walk thru had not been accomplished which would have identified the faulty window. Thus, we stopped the final payment via a bank credit card. It has been over one month and the repair to the window has not been accomplished. The desired outcome is to have DWR coordinate the repair of the faulty window prior to receiving the final payment.
