On July 09, 2021 we took our toy poodle ***** for grooming at Beyond Grooming. My daughter ******** receives a call from the groomer stating they had cut her tail and she was bleeding, ******** told the groomer to stop grooming her and she went to pick up *****. I then called *********************************** (the owner) and she told me in quote " I got her real good" meaning she cut her tail with the scissors. ******** told me not to worry and that she would treat the wound and make it better. I insisted in taking ***** to the Vet. I followed all instructions the Vet game me and after 2 weeks the tail did not seem to be getting better. I then took ***** to a Vet here in *******, ** and they had to amputate her tail. All of this was because of the negligence and carelessness of the groomer ***********************************. The vet **** is approx ****** dollars. I did contact ******** however, she blames ***** having to have her tail amputated all on us and that is not the case.

I apologize but did not receive notice of this complaint until August 25,2021. July 8th ***** came in for grooming as many she was past due and matted. When my stylist was splitting the dreads, he didn't not see the bend in her tail and cut into the flesh creating a deep wound. ******* mother was contacted and she choose to pick her up. When I tried to explain treatment she denied and demanded a licensed vet take care of it. Rarely ever do we need a vet to assist in a wound but I reluctantly covered because they insisted this was the right thing to do. When I followed up that evening ******* mother said they could not keep it wrapped, I stressed the importance of keeping it mended together, offered the proper dressings, topical medication and to assist with bandaging which was denied. I was very clear this would happen without proper treatment so should not be liable for following their orders. Evidence attached

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Like ******** said in her own words- "DEEP WOUND" and of course I would DENY any assistance from her due to the fact that she is NOT a Veterinarian.  ******* injury was so severe she needed to see a Doctor not a Groomer.  ******** told my daughter not to take ***** to a Vet because she would get "rapped" with the costs and also that there were no GOOD Vets in the area.  ***** was treated by a Vet and we did follow all DOCTOR instructions. The Vet that treated ***** said she had a deep laceration almost through entire depth of her tail.  How could you say that ***** did not need to be seen by a licensed Vet? Because the Gross negligence of ********, ***** had to have her tail amputated.  ******** has done nothing but blame us for everything.  I do not know who the other groomer ******** claims groomed ***** because during our entire conversations she said she was the one who slashed ***** tail. ******** claims that the tail would heal in a week and that is definitely contrary to what the Vet said. A deep laceration in a tail will not heal in one week! ******** needs to stop blaming us and be a responsible business owner and pay for ******* Veterinary bills!!

      Regards,

      ****** ******

I paid for the doctor to assist in treatment as you requested, it's unfortunate the results ended in an amputation.
