I purchased a used vehicle on 09/30/2023 I first saw the vehicle in a ******* parking lot, called the number in the window and test drive it from that ******* twice. The man I met claimed to be the owner of the vehicle and showed maintenance records, claiming them to be comprehensive and that he purchased the vehicle new in 2016.On the day we decided to meet and execute the sale of the vehicle, he insisted on getting the title transferred that day. It was after hours for the county office and he insisted we go to his friends dealership to do the title transfer there, something his friend would do as a courtesy.I had other obligations that day, but obliged his request. When we got to the dealership, they also stated the inspection needed to be done first. Instead of doing an inspection, they had a completed inspection emailed to them without the inspector ever laying eyes on vehicle and not identifying that the vehicles horn was inoperable. I showed my drivers license identifying myself as a disabled veteran and they stated that I could not get DV plates without going myself to the county office. As a disabled veteran, I am exempt from certain licensing and registration fees which the dealership charged me. Whether their claim is true or false on this particular matter, Im not sure.The temporary tag the dealer gave me was for 60 days, expiring on 11/29/2023. A couple weeks prior to that date, I called to inquire on the status of my plates and title, to which I received a vague answer that they would be mailed to me soon. In the 29th, I called again to inquire on the status of my title and license plates and they told me that the title came from an auction and was damaged. I then asked them about the guy who was acting as Owner and they said he never actually owned the car and that he was just a friend of the dealers. I bought the vehicle as is, with a false understanding of the vehicles condition. I have since discovered multiple issues with the vehicle, including the starter, locks, fuel tank leaking, and an inoperable horn. I am not sure what recourse is available to me, but the vehicle was sold to me under false pretenses.
