Date of Transaction: Dec 9, 2023 Amount Paid: $876.27 I paid Barrett Jaguar Dealership in ****** $876.27 to replace my engines thermostat and do an oil change per their recommendation. The work they did caused my vehicle to have catastrophic engine failure on the way home from from the dealer. The service notes (as shown on attached receipt photos) show that the vehicle had been road tested and it was working as designed. However, after the fact, the service director and advisor both admitted that they did not properly road test the vehicle to check for leaks or to bleed air from the system prior to releasing the vehicle back to me. Barrett Jaguars initial offer to resolve the issue was for me to pay close to $13k for part of the roughly $43k total quoted repairs to replace the engine and get the car back to running condition, and after negotiating with them further they came back to offer me to only have to pay $8k for a rebuilt engine. Since it would not be fair for me to pay for their costly mistake, I had no choice but to file a Vandalism Claim with my own insurance company to salvage what I could out of the cars value. My insurance company deemed the car a total loss, as the costs quoted by Barrett Jaguar were too high to warrant repair. Neither General Manager *******************, nor the Service Director ************************* have attempted to return any of my calls to resolve this issue, even after ******************** admitted to the service department being at fault for the engine failure. This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and I would not recommend them to anyone hoping to get a quality repair or maintenance done on their car. I would like to be refunded the $876.27 for the faulty work they did on my car that caused complete engine failure and left me and my 16-month-old son stranded on the side of the highway. I have made every attempt to reconcile this issue directly with management - to no effect.
