I have multiple grievances with Red McCombs Toyota on I-10 in ***********, **. In May 2022, I purchased a 2022 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition for $70,000 at a 3.6% interest rate. I immediately encountered serious issues, including the moonroof completely falling out and recurring noises inside the vehicle. Despite bringing it in for repairs more than four times, the problems persisted. Eventually, I was convinced to trade it in for a 2023 Toyota Tundra Platinum Edition, taking a financial loss on the trade and financing a higher loan at a higher interest rate. Unfortunately, the new vehicle also had significant problems, including the moonroof falling out again and the rear passenger-side shock coming loose and puncturing the wheel well. These issues rendered the vehicle unusable for long periods, leaving me in rental cars while still making monthly payments. After enduring months of frustration, I returned to Red McCombs a third time, where the management, fully aware of my ongoing issues, persuaded me to trade for a 2024 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. Once again, I took a financial hit on the trade-in and rolled over additional debt at a 7.2% interest rate. The *********************** the service department over ten times, with critical safety issues, including a braking system recall and an estimated two-year repair wait. The brakes produce a loud screech when reversing, often skipping, causing near accidents. AWD malfunction warnings have been triggered four times, yet the service team has not resolved the issue. Persistent problems include dashboard noises, faulty window seals, and a knocking sound in the front axle, which remains unresolved despite multiple service visits. These repeated issues, safety concerns, and ongoing financial and emotional costs are unacceptable. I am demanding that Toyota address my situation by taking back the current vehicle at its owed value, refunding the $5,000 down payment, and allowing me to begin fresh with a 2025 Toyota Tundra.

My family and I took a trip to ***********, ***** on June 20th and on the drive there a warning light that said "Grille Vent Malfunction See Dealership" came on. The next day I took my 2022 Toyota Tundra to Red McCombs Toyota and we were attended by ***************************. We were told that the truck was under warranty and were given a rental car which was an inconvenience because there were 5 of us and we are all tall. We weren't advised that the rental would be covered by the warranty. We didn't hear from him until the 22nd when he told us the truck wouldn't be ready until the 25th. We had planned for our trip to end on the 24th. Then on the 25th we waited at the dealership for hours until they told us they needed another day. Finally on the 27th he told us that they needed another day and I told him we had already extended our stay by 2 extra nights waiting on them and we couldn't afford another night. He then called us back and said that they would remove the part and we could drive it home that way because if they left it on, it could over heat. We chose that option and when we arrived back home we took the truck to a Toyota dealership in town. At the ********************************** they also gave us a rental but said it would be covered by the warranty. So I called ***** and asked him for a refund for $327.99 for the rental and the extra nights we were forced to take waiting on them to return my truck. He said he would speak to his manager about it. I texted back and forth with him for a few weeks until he stopped returning my texts. I am asking for this full price for the hotel room and rental car to be paid and I'm not even asking for the extra gasoline and meals we had to purchase for the extra days. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

On September 8, 2023, I interacted with ***************************. Maybe he is new or not very knowledgeable. I bought my car at this dealership. it came with a 84-month warranty battery. ******************** stated that the battery needed to be activated for the warranty to be valid. How does he know if the battery is activated if he refused to check it? The battery was getting weaker and soon I needed to buy a new one. The battery was bad and it won't take a charge. ******************** and this business ignored the issue and instead they were trying to sell me a new battery for ******. Since I was still able to drive the car, after leaving this business, I went to get new battery for half the price. I want this business to reimburse me 139,84 I spent on my new battery. And to let the public know about these deceptive practices.

I purchased a 2022 ******* Santa Fe from Red McCombs Northwest. *** car has a little over ****** miles. *** car is under warranty and it also has a an extended warranty. I took the vehicle in for service on June 5th 2023. To this day I have not heard back from the service department and they don't answer the phone. I have filed a complaint with ******* consumer affairs and they are also not able to get ahold of the service department either. I was told there was no loaner vehicle available and that the loaners they did have were reserved for ******* owners only. I have received nothing less than absolutely terrible service from this dealership. I am paying out-of-pocket rental car costs and also paying a note for a car that I cannot even use anymore. I am requesting a loaner vehicle, full reimbursement of my rental car expenses, and also the warranty repair of my ********. If this cannot be done, then I want to return the vehicle for a full and complete refund.references:Repair order number is ****** Tag Number is ****

I am rejecting this response because: although I do have a loaner vehicle, the loaner vehicle contract states that it must be returned on 7/12 and I will be on vacation from July 5th - July 16th.  If the dealer cannot complete the repair before I leave, then I will not be able to return the loaner vehicle on the agreed upon date.  I need to confirm that this will not be an issue. I have contacted manager *****, but have gotten no response.  I only receive responses when I follow up through this BBB complaint.  I have attached the loaner rental agreement as a reference.

On March 11th 2023 I visited the **** website. I made my selections to order a 2023 **** Bronco. I asked the order to go through Red McCombs **** as my fianc had purchased her car at that location and been treated well. The order was sent and the dealer contacted me and we discussed details. On March 27th, the **** order banks opened for 24 hours for Bronco orders. The dealer states my order was submitted to **** at that point. At the end of April, I received a text from the sales person **** issued a VIN and a build date for my Bronco.I followed up on the **** tracking website only to learn my 2 door hard top Bronco was now a 4 door soft top. The dealer refused to do anything to make the situation right. My sales person told me the dealer gets $10k on top of MSRP for Broncos on the lot. Custom orders aren't subject to this fee. The dealer stands to make a lot more money by selling my Bronco on their lot than selling it to me via order form from ****. As this was an order made on ****'s Bronco website I don't understand how the order can be reconfigured. Now I've lost my place in line for a new Bronco and can't even resubmit my order until **** reopens the order banks, more than likely in 2024.I am posting this to let others know how Red McCombs **** does business and how they treat their customers.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/08/2023

Sorry for the confusion. I did look into this matter and it looks like our staff did enter the order in correctly. **** came out with some commodity controls that created an issue where the order could not be scheduled to be built. The order was changed to a buildable order at that time and reverted to a 4 door. We can reorder the unit as a 2 door and remove a few items so **** would build it if you like. All our order are at MSRP so it would not be an issue. If you would like to do so let us know and I will try and push the order through quickly.

    Thank you for the response.

I appreciate the offer but I'm wondering who is telling the truth as my salesperson told me something completely different as to why my order was changed.

To make matters worse, I received a text from another RMF salesperson stating he had a Black two door almost identical to what I wanted.  He did not honor the original

MSRP from my order, instead a $5000 dealer market value adjustment was placed on the unit he was offering on top of the MSRP.

I've lost faith in your company and will turn to a different dealer for my new vehicle.

On February 29, 2021 I purchased a 2014 *** from Red McCombs used vehicles lot. They sold me an extended warranty for almost $4000. One month later the car started leaking gasoline and took it in at Red McCombs and they made me drive it to *** dealer, because they couldn't do anything there. I drove the vehicle with it leaking gas to *** and they told me to get out of the care asap because it was dangerous! I told *** I had the extended warranty and after they checked it, they said the warranty didn't cover it and I ended up paying out of pocket. Two weeks ago the car started shaking from the steering wheel and all these lights popping out saying it was the " Drive Terrain Malfunction" the horn doesn't work and the air bags are disabled. Took back to Red McCombs and told me the same thing, to take it to ***! The extended warranty doesn't cover anything! Red McCombs doesn't want to trade in or give me another car. I haven't been able to use my car for two weeks. This dealership sold me a bad car and does not want to take responsibility!

Sorry to hear about this. We can trade you out the vehicle if you like, but we would need you to go to your local bank and find financing. We have been unable to find a lender to approve the loan. The vehicle you purchased was inspected at time of sell and we would hope you would get many happy miles out of it. We cannot gaurantee this of course since it was a highline vehicle with high mileage. Part of buying this type of vehicles on one side is getting a great price but they do come with possible maintanence issues throughout ownership. Either way we would love to help you get our of it and into a different vehicle we just have been unable to get any financing. Let us know if your able to get you bank to approve a loan and we are ready to help.

I am rejecting this response because:

Red McCombs is suggesting she gets a loan to trade in the **** She has tried and has been told that, because she has an outstanding loan, she doesnt qualify for another lone being that she is single and doesnt have the income to have to car loans.  What we request is that she keeps her current loan with Exiter and Red McCombs give ****** a working vehicle.  ****** has taken the car to a mechanic and she has been told that the car has been ruined further with the way Red McCombs changed the cars oil and the time chain is completely ruined.  ****** has missed work and I have missed work to take her to work and from work to her house. This is not acceptable.

Bought a $50,000 car less then a month ago. The motor is ticking, the gears slip & pop out of gear while while driving, the sales rep told me the bubble on the screen inside the car was from a screen protector, there is not a screen protector the screen is cracked/has water in it, the radio randomly turns off while driving & the GPS glitches as well. I would never buy a $50,000 piece of ****. The sales rep & manager @ red mccombs hyundai north west will not help, have used vulgar language & even pretended not to know who I am when going in per their request to try and mimic the issues I have found. I do not want the car or to ever do business with them again
