I hired this company to move a $4000.00 gun safe I just ourchased which was left at my driveway. Called multiple companys to see who was able to relocate my safe from the driveway to the inside of my house. Chapas Moving Service was the only company that was able to do it. I spoke to the manager ***** and gave him the details. Informed him the safe weight was 700 its. ***** stated his guys were capable and experienced in moving heavy items and also was insured if any accidents happened. ***** gave me a set price of $450.00 and said he could do it between the hours of 1:00pm-3:pm.The person arrived on time in an unmarked box trucked. He looked at the safe and said it is heavy and needed help. He asked if he could look at where the safe was going. I showed him where and he said ok and will return shortly with help. The gentleman returned shortly and the proceeded to remove the packaging around the safe. After they removed the packaging they started to remove the gun safe from the pallet it was on. They both safely placed the safe on the dolly which apparently was the wrong ****** for the job. I let them used my dolly which was better suited to move the heavy safe. As they attempted to move the dolly the gentleman controlling the dolly felt it was to heavy and said he was going to lower it and told the other guy dont let it slam to the driveway. As soon as he finished saying that it did. The safe hit the cement driveway really hard. The gentleman controlling or trying to control the dolly became upset. This time I attempted to help because obviously they couldnt do it on there own. We were successful in getting it to the front porch. The main guy suggested to get a ramp to make it easier for the 4 steps we had to deal with. They returned with the ramp and proceed to move up the ramp. In doing so he or they lost control and the safe tilted and fell to the ground casing damage which the owner and ***** refuse to repair.
