On September 26, 2022, BBB contacted Mellow Maid LLC regarding advertised claims they use "EPA Approved - Safer Choice MeetsU.S. EPA Safer Product Standards” products and uses products that kill knownviruses like the Flu and Covid-19.
BBB Code of Advertising states the primary responsibility for truthful and nondeceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared tosubstantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast.Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertisingmedium or BBB.
BBB requested Mellow Maid LLC to substantiate the advertised claim by providing theproduct(s) including the company/companies and product name(s) that are EPASafer Choice Certified and are EPA Registered Disinfectants for use for the Flu andCovid-19 or discontinue the advertisement to address BBB’s concern.
As of October 25, 2022, Mellow Maid LLC failed to substantiate the advertisement by providing BBB with the approved EPA product(s) used as advertised.
