    I rented a car through Orbitz.com and paid the total price "including all taxes and fees" online. Fox Rent A Car employee, *******************************, added a charge of $50.71 for "insurance" and claimed that the charge was required by Expedia/Orbitz. I called Orbitz and they did not add this insurance fee nor was it their requirement. The agent at the desk refused to remove the charge, despite me declining any additional insurance. I did not want or need any additional insurance and verified this with my insurance company and govt employer.

    WORST Rental company out there - FOX IS A SCAM!! I had originally booked and pre-paid/pay now for a Rental from Fox for 3 days only at $180 for a defective, old, unsanitary & smelly ******* that had over ****** miles on it - that already tells a lot right there, as most top tier Rental Companies target 30K miles, before they replace them. Nevertheless, I did not complain, UNTIL I just received and took a look at my FINAL BILL they emailed me and I about lost it! I just sat on hold for billing over 55 min. just to be told, I had to email customer service and then click! Now, I did and take responsibility for extending my Rental past the 3 days and acknowledge the $20 per day extension fee, but that is NOT my issue here. My Problem is the mysterious, other bogus charges resulting in my Bill now stating I owe them $1362.76. For 1. I SPECIFICALLY DECLINED ANY and ALL offers to purchase Their insurance !! I EVEN PRESENTED MY OWN CAR INSURANCE CARD when I got to their COUNTER- stating MY CAR INSURANCE COVERS RENTALS, so no thanks. YET, my BILL says I chose to purchase their insurance - YET there is no signature NOR my initials signed off next to that?? Hmmm.. ?? Yet, they are wanting to charge me $475.20 JUST for their insurance policy- which I NEVER AGREED to nor signed off on is added to my total bill. The other added charges are just AS bogus, such as charging me for Extra added miles, even though my Rental Agreement CLEARLY states UNLIMITED MILES I guess Fox is so worried that their old, run-down disgusting car is almost at 50K miles now, even though I didnt even drive it more than a few miles, as I stayed in town! So, since Foxs representatives are being completely uncooperative and refusing to make this right, it will leave me with not much choice than to report this Company to the legal authorities in the state I rented the car from. Lawyer up & take this matter to Court! To anyone reading this, take the advice from many on here & dont rent Fox!

    On Nov 9, 2022, I picked up a rental car from the Fox rental center located at the *************. I walked around the car and took pictures of previous damage to the vehicle as instructed. I went shopping for some needed items and. I put them in the trunk and thought I had closed it. Other motorists stopped me to inform me that my trunk was open. I pulled over and tried to again close the trunk. The locking mechanism would not move. I put my items in the backseat of the vehicle and drove to my destination slowly. It was starting to rain from the tropical storm. When I got to my destination, I called the Fox roadside service for assistance. ******* was extremely kind and helpful and in my panic was very understanding. He arranged for another vehicle to be brought to me immediately. The tow truck driver showed up at approx 2 am and only said about 4 words to me. He slammed the trunk a few times and handed me the keys to the replacement vehicle. A few days later, I received an email from ****. **** explained that I was now responsible for $824 of payment to the ************ When she realized I had the insurance through Expedia, she said I needed to file a claim with them for the damages to the vehicle. I am being charged for a broken window that **** said the tow truck driver broke and I am being charged for the tow truck. To top it all off, I have to file the claim, because according to ****, *** does not file claims with third party companies.- I will never use your company again and will continue to tell my friends not to use it as well.- I should not be charged for damage to the vehicle caused by the tow truck company. - I should not be charged for the tow service when the trunk damage on the vehicle was per-existing. - I should not have to file the claim with the third party when I paid for the insurance. - Fox should be responsible for filing any and all claims they wish to be paid for.

    I booked a rental online for Fox Car Rental through ********* on 9/6/22 for the ***********. I had no idea I was booking a third party rental but nevertheless, our flight landed at 11pm and the rental place is nowhere to be found. After much wandering around, we finally realized the pick up location was OFF SITE. This was the very start of the nightmare that ensued. We arrive to a very unkept establishment to find a line at the counter with ONE person working. I watched this employee literally make a rude face at the customer in front of me. When it's my turn, she tells me they dont have the car I selected or one like it. So we opt to downgrade. Then she runs my card which is a debit AND credit card but she says it wont work as credit since it's debit also?? Even thought this is the EXACT same card they took my deposit of $225 with. She offers no options and laughs in my face when I try to tell her it is also a credit card. Incredibly horrific customer service. I was appalled. She also proceeds to say that ******** is a terrible third party app. I asked to speak to the manager who was equally as rude and offered zero help. We even offered to pay cash. We tried other cards, tried giving a credit card number verbally. Nothing. We left at midnight, in an unfamiliar town, with no rental car, had to take the shuttle back to the airport to find there were zero rental cars. We were stuck in the airport past 2am until we could secure an uber. I am completely furious at this entire experience. My husband and I made a trip to celebrate our 25th anniversary and it was the worst experience! I immediately contacted BOTH ******** and Fox Rental the next morning and that was 9/12/22 and as of today, 11/15/22 I have had NO resolution despite MANY, MANY phone calls and emails. I have requested a full refund for the deposit I paid for services I did not receive. They continue to ignore my requests and continue giving horrible customer service. ******** says Fox ********************** is at fault.

    I rented a car from Fox Car Rental on Oct. 3rd,2022 til Oct 10th to be picked up at ***********. When I arrived at airport to pick up car I was informed Fox was off airport property and had to take shuttle to get car. When we spoke to agent he said car rental was thru ******, an affiliate of Fox and had to prove I had collision and comprehensive coverage. I had my insurance card but not policy. They refused me a car because I couldnt provide proof of collision and comprehensive. Ive rented car for years and been asked if I want their insurance and if not, sign a waiver. I had to rent the car from **** at triple the cost as I didnt rent it in advance. I rented this car from ****** was never notified anything about ****** requiring proof of collision and comprehensive. I would to be reimbursed for additional expense.

    On 6/24/22 I reserved car from Fox Rental via ****** for 6 days from 7/28-8/2 at *********** in **********, I was charged $224 with ****** that I paid for w/ my debit card. I picked up the vehicle at 930 pm and gave the balance of $58 and a $150 deposit on a separate credit card. I was told it was a 2021 ****** Corolla. It was not, it was around a 2015 with ****** miles on the car. I drove to car to ******* **. The car was not driving properly and pulling to the left. On the morning of 7/30, the car stalled several times and would not restart. I contacted their roadside and explained the problem and that the engine light was on. I was told to keep driving it or bring it back but they did not have another vehicle to give me. I drove the car back and returned the car at **** am with a full tank. I was charged $99.12 on my credit card. I was told I would be refunded the $224 I paid through ******. I contacted ****** and they state that *** will not refund me so they cannot give me refund. I contacted *** and they state the $99 was an early return fee. I told them I shouldn't be charged that because the car was not drivable and they don't have replacement. I had to go rent care elsewhere. I paid $325 for car I couldn't drive and returned after a day and a half of the 6 day rental. original term was $283.68 for the 6 days. So total charge should have been $95, which they already charged me $99.12 on credit card. I am still owed $224 to my debit card which they refuse to refund. I should not have to pay for early return to bring back a vehicle that did not drive and they didn't have another car to give me.
