my lease expiration at Boardwalk at Starcrest. My lease ended on **August 31, 2024**, and I vacated the premises accordingly. Under **Texas Property Code ********, landlords are required to provide at least **60 days notice** of rent increases for lease renewals. However, I was only notified on **July 16, 2024**, which did not provide the legally required notice period.Upon receiving this short-notice rent increase, I visited the leasing office and spoke with **Manager ****** ***********, who informed me that I could not renew my lease due to an alleged balance owed. At that time, I verbally informed her that I would not be renewing my lease, as the rent increase was unaffordable. Per her request, I also submitted written notice of non-renewal via the **MyResMan app and email.** Despite this, I was never notified of any outstanding rent owed after moving out, in violation of **Texas Debt Collection Act (TDCA) *********, which prohibits misleading debt collection practices Given these violations, I contest any charges against me for unpaid rent, as Texas law protects tenants from being held liable when landlords fail to maintain a habitable living environment. Additionally, any attempt to collect an alleged unpaid balance without proper notification violates **Texas debt collection laws**.### **Requested Action**I formally request that:1. **Any outstanding balance be removed**, as I did not receive proper notice of rent increases or any balance owed after moving out.2. **A written confirmation stating that no further collection actions will be taken against me.**3. **A full explanation of any charges** that may still be applied to my account, including evidence that proper legal notice was given.due to these fraudulent charges on my credit report I loss the ability to get a government position as well as the ability to rent a house
