1 starFor several days now, I've been attempting to reach out to the company regarding the rejection of my application and to inquire about the reasons behind it. Unfortunately, I have been unable to obtain any response. I've sent multiple emails, attempted phone calls, and reached out via both the website and application platform. Despite these efforts, I have not received any replies.Review fromSamarian J

5 starsI had to come back and leave a review. While waiting on my status from ApproveShield, I started to do my review on this company and got scared looking at the comments on this website. People were making it seem like this place would deny you for anything. That is not true. My experience was nothing like that, it was great. The communication was great, all of my things were uploaded correctly. It was quick and easy. Please don't let these comments scare you, I feel others did something wrong. Thanks ApproveShield. Great companyReview fromJim E

1 starThe worst service possible, They cannot read or provide any other ways to submit stubs. I have taken like 15 pictures of my stubs 3 times now and every they say they cant see them. If you just looked at the stubs and my bank account then you could match the stubs to the pay at my bank. Their help chat takes 3 days to respond and if you are not the first name on the application they dont even let you know. Beyond stupidity.ApproveShield, LLC

First, I want to sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience you've experienced. I understand the confusion regarding our message system. Please know it's designed to compile communications directly into your file for thorough review, though this can lead to delays outside regular business hours. We received your message late on Friday and regrettably couldn't respond until then ext business day on Monday. Regarding the submission of your paystubs, I appreciate you taking the time to send them multiple times. It seems there was an issue with the visibility of crucial details due to the photos being partial. Our agreement with our clients requires a full view of the paystub to ensure all information correlates correctly. As a solution, downloading the stub as a PDF from your payroll system and uploading it directly might avoid this issue, ensuring all details are clear and visible.Thank you immensely for your feedback. It is crucial in helping us improve our service. If theres anything more we can assist with or any further information you require, please don't hesitate to reach out.Review fromRyan G

5 starsI recently applied for a complex & they use Approveshield for their tenant screening verification check. I had a very positive experience, I uploaded my documents which included 2 pay stubs and my bank statement. On day 3 they called me and explained they would be conducting a 3way conference call with my bank for verification which was fine, day 4 my screening was complete and I was advised my information was as sent over to the apt complex awaiting a final decision and this took 1 day fully. Day 6 I received my approval email. The process was fairly simple, Approveshield sent daily text messages updating me throughout the process and I was approved quickly for move in. Overall I had a good experience dealing with this company.ApproveShield, LLC

1 starI have applied to several apartments in the Atlanta area, make 5x the rent, plus a disabled veteran with monthly benefits, just to be denied based off an apartment that is not on my credit report. I've sent messages after messages explaining that the information is incorrect, just to receive nothing back in return. This process is ridiculous, tedious and intrusive and I would highly suggest to run away from properties who uses this system. I am a stand up citizen and served my country and currently make enough to cover my neighbors rent but when I am slapped with an email stating fraud and it does not belong to me, I hear crickets. I hope I get a response from here because its nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone in a timely manner.Review fromLily L

5 starsHonestly a bit surprised by these reviews. I recently applied and was approved by an apartment that uses approve shield as their third party screening company/income verifier. After seeing these reviews I was TERRIFIED and convinced myself I was going to get denied. I have to say my experience does not align with other folks at all. Approve shield kept me updated every single day of the process through messages on their website with the analyst working on my application. On day three my analyst (***- who was great I must add) and I joined a teams webinar to complete a bank account validation. Two days after that I was approved. During the webinar he informed me the last thing they needed was the rental verification from my old apartment and then my application would be ready to finalize. They tell you from the beginning it takes approximately 5 business days to process an application and mine took exactly that. I am not trying to dismiss others experiences with approve shield- rather encourage you not to let these reviews scare you into applying to your dream home if they use approve shield. Who knows the individual circumstances of each of these cases. I say if you know you meet the income requirements - go for it! Your experience may be more similar to mine.ApproveShield, LLC

Thank you so much for your kind words, we have a lot of great people here that work very hard alongside *** (we agree with you that he is pretty great) to provide exactly this experience, and I can't express enough how thrilled I am to see that you took the time to tell us about it! As you correctly mentioned, virtually all of the reviews and comments written on this site are submitted by people who have individual circumstances that prevent them from meeting the criteria of the communities where they apply, which ApproveShield does not control. Thank you for recognizing that for what it is and for taking the time to help put other applicants minds at ease.Review fromJanessa M

1 starI applied for an apartment who uses this company and I was told after submitting my bank statements that I needed ****** to RENT, when I made 3xthe rent price. The analyst then proceeded to tell me I owed another community money, which was not on my credit report and *** also had 2 other apartments after the one she claimed I owed! Makes no sense and this company is useless and a scam!!Review fromMarjana J

1 starIf I could give 0 stars, I would! If you're applying to any housing and ApproveShield is the company they use, RUN. Over 3 weeks of dealing with this company which is overall a complete scam. It was an absolute nightmare, they're extremely intrusive with access to our bank and the miscommunication is beyond unprofessional. We've been back and forth between a rep ******** ******* and ******* then the actual leasing office. Every time we spoke with a rep, the leasing office was told something different than what we were. After about 2.5 weeks it began to feel almost personal as if the company had it out for us to get approved. Every time we were told this is the last thing that's needed, they circled back wanting us to do something that we've already done or something that should've been asked but wasn't. I have a list of additional complaints and unprofessionalism we've experienced but I'll save that for our lawyers. Please do your research and diligence when applying to housing! Also look at all these other reviews, they are NOT LYING!Review fromBrittany K

1 starHello. I need to speak to someone ( a manager or supervisor regarding my application). I have spoken with **** several times regarding my offer letter and paystub that was submitted and explained that even though my start date was the same my time card/direct deposit was not set up and I got behind a pay period with my job and was only able to upload my first paystub. He then said that if he could verify my employment through my manager that I still work there then we could move forward. The HR team has verified my employment with them via email to ************************* and now my application status is saying that my application is denied because I didnt upload two paystubs when I have explained my situation over 3 times to **** and verified that I still work for that company. I have not been at this job for over 60 days and Im behind one pay period. How is my job not meet the income/employment verification after I did exactly what what was asked of me if I was not going to be able to provide the two pay stubs because of the pay period confusion? I was told by **** that he would verify and then that was all that was needed and after HR verified its saying its denied because I dont have two paystubs. Below are the text messages regarding verifying my employment. I told **** that they are not able to change an offer letter that was already sent out and I did start on that date but I did not receive my first paycheck until the paystub that I submitted and my actually start date was on 03/04/2024. My credit is good, my rental history is good, and I have verified and submitted all required documents via email and on the approve shield app. This company is a scam. I even had my employer email from HR that I still work for this company, and I have gotten no response as to why I would be denied for not having two pay stubs after jumping through hoops to prove my employment.
