1 starI am a retired Federal Employee. In December, 2024, I received a letter from the Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield program that stated that I would be automatically enrolled in their ******** part D program and if my income was over a certain amount that I would need to pay an Income Related Adjustment Amount. If I did not want this product I had to "Opt out". This predatory business practice impacted me because I did not read my **** mail in a timely fashion. I opted out of the part D program in January 2025 via telephone, certified mail, and FAX and received an updated card listing my pharmacy benefits as FEPRX (which it had always been). Federal employees did not need ******** Part D as we are already paying an insurance premium for prescription drug coverage through our Blue Cross health insurance policy. In February, I called the mail order pharmacy and told them to correct my records. Today, June 5, 2025, while reordering a mail order prescription I learned that Federal **** had still not updated my account and I was still listed as having ******** part D. The pharmacy program told me that they could make a temporary correction to FEPRX and would again ask **** to send an official correction. I contacted ************ to complain, again. Just so you know, Federal employees with Blue Cross Blue Shield were enrolled in ******** Part D automatically and WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION. If I wanted ******** part D I would purchase it. Blue Cross Blue Shield has no right to purchase this product for me. Asking me if I want to "Opt Out" is non-sensical and should be against the law as they are making decisions for me without my permission. There was no reduced insurance premium for opting in to ******** Part D.Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas

******* illegally enrolled me in ******** Part D WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. ******* was negligent in failing to update and correct their computer records with CVS and ******** Part D after I called, emailed, and certified mailed them on January 15, 2025. I had a telephone conversation with FEPBlue Pharmacy employees in March 2025 when they assured me that all future pharmacy prescriptions would be handled under FEPRX. After posting my original comment on June 5, 2025, I reviewed my pharmacy receipts and discovered that Federal Employee Program Blue Cross Blue Shield (FEPBlue) lied to me and NEVER UPDATED MY FEPRX pharmacy benefits with CVS Caremark. As a result, I was overcharged by *** when I picked up prescriptions in April and May, 2025. I had three prescriptions receipts in which I paid NON INSURED prices because FEPBlue failed to update my account with CVS. CVS told me to file paper pharmacy claims for reimbursement because they could not reimburse me for a prescription for a controlled substance after 7 days. I filed the claim form with a letter, copies of the prescription receipt, and my FEPBlue Insurance card which clearly has FEPRX on it. I was told it would take ******* six weeks to review them. FEPBlue never followed through and corrected my pharmacy account which resulted in me being overcharged non insured prices even though I had pharmacy coverage with FEPBlue for 24 1/2 years as a Federal employee.Review fromArthur M

1 starI recently changed over to this company so I could keep our familys physician. They offered me their advantage PPO claiming it would help with the price of my medication, however that was a complete lie! Ive been denied medication I was on prior to switching to them because they claimed being pre diabetic doesnt qualify me for the medication. They want me to have diabetes before they will cover it, even though theyre taking over 180 dollars out of my SSDi check for being a disabled veteran! Now Im at risk of diabetes because Im no longer receiving my medication because of this companies greed and lies. I clearly asked was it covered prior to switching over. Do not, especially if youre a veteran get them for any of your insurance needs.Review fromEric J

1 starBlue Cross Blue Shield is not a great insurance company because they will take your money, and when you try to go to the doctor they will say your insurance is not active. Please do not purchase Blue Cross Blue Shield as an insurance policy for health because they dont care whether you live or die , and all they want is your money! They are all a bunch of savages!Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas

1 starI live in ******** and have BCBS of Oklahoma and their office is in ** looks like, there is an address for TX on my card.I have severe heart disease and need close follow-up. I have had a BCBS PPO plan for 4 years and have used it every year without a problem in ***********, *******For 2025 without any notice and mentioning anywhere in their plan's brochure they changed the plan limited to the state of ********. Each state ******** is limited to coverage for the same state BUT, Blue Cross Bue Shield is a private company and even when you check on their website they claim you can use your BCBS all around the US that are in the network.I contacted customer **********************, and they told me " Yes, this is a new change, and you have to fill out a ****************** form to be approved. It will take 2 weeks to be processed and after approval is good for 3 months".I filled out the form on Jan 1st,2025, and by Jan 3rd, 2025 I got confirmation they had received my form and it was sent to be processed. by Jan 28 I called to see why I had not heard anything back, they told me one of my request forms was lost and the other one had not been checked yet ( no one even opened my requested form and they lost one of them ). What if I did not call to follow up? This is about someone's health and life. No one is holding them accountable for their failures. Even after I called to follow up, they treated me like they were doing a favor to me to do their job.I have to call and have them do their job. This is unbelievable. **** is getting worse and worse.Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas

1 starI got my ******** through my employer. I have been taking diebatic medication ******* for a while. When I tried to refill recently, they prescribed a generic brand which is out of stock. Called the cvscaremart and bcbs and it seems they don't care that I am out of medication. Not getting correct explanation, one persion said it is new medicine and other say could be cost. One persion suggested pay ~$400 and ask for copay assitance! Horrible service. I think insurance company just can not change the medication because it is more expensive. They are caring about money more than what is best for the customer, There has to be better way communicating this with customer.Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas

1 starAs a state employee it is very disheartening to be restricted to ****. This is one of the most poorly performing companies in the world. The member portal is a waste of time with no useful information available. Every time I speak to a health advocate I get completely different information about in network providers. They are absolutely incompetent and their systems do not communicate. This is the worst insurance company *** ever worked with.Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas

1 starWhat a hassle dealing with BCBS of Texas. We recently switch to them and they will not cover my Daughter's medication that she has been taking for 4 years because it is in the wrong format (oral dissolving vs chewable). They totally ignore the reason she takes the *** in their denials and think taking 12 pills per day vs 4 is a great idea. I have wasted so much time going in circles with their customer **********************. The "customer advocates" don't advocate for the customers, they just toe the company line. Their review doctor even question if the reason we need to change to the type of pill (due to an allergy to the dyes used in the regular pills) was valid or if we were making it up. Apparently a letter from a Doctor saying their is an allergy is not sufficient.Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas
