I have reached out to this company multiple times in attempt to cancel my membership that is on a reoccurring billing cycle. I have sent emails to both the location and customer service with no response. Both customer service and the franchise have denied responsibility and being able to cancel my subscription. I have also gone in person to where the manager was unavailable and made yet another call yesterday and was told I would be called back immediately and they would handle it, and this was not my billing cycle starts in three days and I no longer wish to be a member at this gym location due to maintenance issues. They have had a mold, urine is regularly on the back floor. The air conditioner has been broken for the last two *******, and there is not adequate lighting in the parking lot in a dangerous area of town. I tried to resolve this with the company but have been getting a runaround. This is for the TruFit Antioch Location and their main customer service line

I am filing this complaint against TruFit Athletic Clubs and ************************* regarding an erroneous debt collection attempt for personal trainer fees that were paid in full and properly canceled. The debt in question, related to account **********, is invalid, and I request immediate cessation of collection efforts, correction of records, and removal of any negative credit reporting. On October 18, 2024, I fulfilled my contract with TruFit Athletic Club for personal training services and paid the full amount of $2,179.00, as evidenced by bank statements I have provided. I also submitted multiple cancellation requests per the contract terms, including emails and in-person submission to TruFit employee ****** ***** (photos attached). After persistent efforts, I received a signed cancellation document from TruFit on December 27, 2024. ****** ***** advised me to stop credit card payments due to known issues with canceling personal trainer services, which other clients have also experienced. Despite this, ************************* continues to send collection notices for an alleged outstanding balance, which is inaccurate. This situation has caused undue stress and threatens my credit standing. **Desired Resolution:** 1. ****** my payment history and cancellation requests. 2. Immediately cease all collection activities for this alleged debt. 3. Update TruFit and *********************************, and notify any credit reporting agencies, to reflect that no debt is owed. 4. Provide written confirmation within 30 days that this matter is resolved and records are updated. I am prepared to provide additional documentation if needed. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will escalate the matter to the ************************************ or seek legal counsel.

I had a month-to-month membership with TruFit *********** for $33/month. I stopped using the gym on December 1, 2024, and my linked debit card expired January 1, 2025. I attempted to cancel by phone in December, but the employee told me cancellations must be submitted via email. I informed them I was driving and could not safely email at that moment. They refused to assist with cancellation over the phone.Despite my clear intent to cancel, TruFit continued charging my account through January, February, and March, even though the payment method was inactive and I never used the facility. I later received messages from a debt collection agency (*************************) stating I owed $263.58 far more than the $33/month I was ********* early May, I called and spoke to a manager who acknowledged my concern and said he would work to resolve it. He said he understood the situation and acknowledged that the gym system DID show that I had not used the facilities since November 2024 He never followed up, and the debt was not resolved or removed from collections. This is an unfair billing practice. I made a good faith effort to cancel, I did not use the gym, and I am now being pursued for an inflated balance I do not owe. I am requesting that TruFit immediately recall the debt from collections and clear the charges entirely.

Good morning, I had been in contact with someone about my account since December of 2024, I came in around March/.April of last year and signed the paperwork to cancel the membership . From March- November I was still charged the monthly membership fee for both accounts during that time frame which ended up being around $420. When I contacted the gym about the fees still being charged and wanted to get a refund. At that point I was informed that I was behind two payments on the personal training membership and that money would go to even out the account. I asked for the 2 month payments they were saying I was behind. I sent in screenshots from my bank showing that money did in fact come out of my account and I was never behind . It is now June 2025 and there has been no resolution to the $420 that is owed to me. I have attached screenshots of the money coming out of my account referring to the personal training months they said I did not pay .

This gym has been proven that it is not safe for my children to fulfill a personal training contract with Tru Fit Gym employees due to the *** scandal that recently transpired. Teenagers were able to film and upload to all social media sites of two employees (manager and personal trainer) having *** in the manager's office through a transparent door. Both my children who are minors have one on one personal training at *******, and I no longer feel safe my children having these sessions alone. I want to cancel the personal training sessions that are under contract immediately.

Unfortunately, on a recent visit, I was approached by a manager named ****** ********* (typically present on Saturdays), and a woman named ******** *********. They took me into the office and accused me of providing personal training services to my friends. I made it very clear that I am not a personal trainerI work full-time as an engineering manager. I even offered to show them my work ID as proof of my employment and to clarify the misunderstanding. The conversation seemed to end there, and I returned to my workout.Shortly after, however, I was approached again. This time, they brought up a social media post from Januarywe are now in ****** which I congratulated my friends for completing an online fitness program we all followed together. They claimed this was proof I had been training others. Several of my friends, who were present and overheard the conversation, stepped in to clarify that we all follow the same purchased programs (like Booty by **** or Kikis Fitness) and simply work out together. I am not a coach or trainer, and I have never charged or offered one on one services to anyone from the gym.Despite my respectful and calm behavior, we were told to leave the premises and were met with an extreme and humiliating response: the police were called, and we were issued criminal trespass warnings, and forced to cancel our memberships. We are a group of approximately 10 women who have now all been affected.I am deeply upset by the way this was handledespecially the involvement of the police for a situation that could have easily been resolved through honest dialogue and understanding. The accusations appear to stem from bias and inappropriate behavior. This gym is a sacred space for mea place where I focus on my physical and mental well-being. I have never violated any gym policies and have only ever tried to encourage a positive, healthy environment with my friends.***** B *************************************(956)292-8789Member ID: **********

Date of transaction- 05/27/1025 Cost - ****** Nature of dispute - My wife and I moved to ******* where a TruFit isnt located and weve been given 3 false methods to cancel membership. 1 - my wife was told to contact the ******** # and we would be able to cancel our membership. The ******** said they are unable to cancel due to our account having personal training.2- my wife was told she had to write a letter to cancel our membership.3- The front desk has repeatedly told us the Manager is not at work and they would call us back but never does. I guess they just pay the manager to sit at home?I just got changed again for a month of membership we cant even use and theyre just dragging it out to continue charging me.Member ID# **********

My mother and i went to sign up for a membership. The workers there did an body scan and the same worker told my mom and I that the company had a sale. He explained that the sale including ten sessions with a personal trainer for just one dollar, he said it was a trial to see wether we wanted to continue with a personal trainer or not. We even payed that dollar in cash. A few days later my mother got a $90 charge on her card , so she called the bank and asked what company was charging this and they said it was trufit. My mother and I then went to trufit and asked why we were being charged that amount. The personal trainer manager said that they had a contract in file that my mother had supposedly signed, the contract was agreeing to meeting with the personal trainer three times a week for six months. My mom and i were very shocked because when we signed up for the membership and for the trial, we never spoke about a contract or prices. We told asked them if we could see the contract because we didnt sign any paper saying anything about a contract. They then decided to print out the contract and we realized it was my moms name on it but with my signature. So then i explained to the manager that when i signed the worker had told me that i was signing to agree for the ten days with the personal trainer. Also when i signed that, none of the information was shown on the little screen that they had me sign on. I signed a screen that had safety guidelines and just a blank space to sign on. The problem is that we were lied to and they refuse to cancel the contract, we explained to them that the worker who had me sign lied to me and we told them that they should cancel the contract because it wasnt even my mom who signed the contract and it was her name on it, so she never agreed to it. The manager told us that there wasnt anything they can do to help us. We went to another trufit and they gave us a email of a manager and i told them abt the problem but never heard back

I am writing to formally dispute a contract signed on April 1st with **** ******* at your [Mission, *************************] location. During my consultation regarding the Quick Start program, Mr. ******* recommended an additional program, which I subsequently agreed to. However, I was not informed at the time that this agreement constituted a binding, non-cancellable *********** understanding, when choosing TruFit, was that their services offered flexibility for individuals with frequently changing locations. This implied the ability to cancel or suspend memberships without significant penalty. Receiving the contract via email on April 3rd, after the initial agreement, contradicted this understanding.Upon discovering the contractual nature of the agreement, I immediately contacted Mr. ******* on [Date of call] to express my concerns. His response was that cancellation was impossible, and the only offered solution was a temporary payment freeze. Following this conversation, I contacted TruFit directly on [Date of email] requesting cancellation before my first payment was due on April 11th. To date, I have received no response.I believe Mr. ********* omission of the contractual details constitutes a misrepresentation that influenced my decision to sign the agreement. Had I been fully informed, I would not have enrolled. Therefore, I request a review of this matter and a cancellation of the contract, refunding any payments made. I look forward to your prompt attention and resolution to this issue.
