    Our rescue, Haven Animal Rescue of *****, contracted *****************************, owner/operator of Your Pet Taxi on July 5th, 2023 to transport four of our rescue dogs from ***** to the ********** ** to their adopters. We paid $800.00 for her services. The contract stated a nonrefundable deposit of $500.00 and a 30% fee should we be the party to cancel. However, the contract also stated she would (a) share live locations from pick up through drop off at the adopter's homes, and (b) send pictures and videos of the dogs upon request to ensure proper care is provided (food, watering, clean kennels, walks, etc.). Neither of these were done. The contract also states that the defaulting party shall reimburse the non-defaulting party for all costs and expenses reasonably incurred. She picked up our dogs at 8:00am the morning of July 6th, and we were unable to reach her or receive any updates until approximately 5:00pm that evening via my phone call to her. Both ourselves and our adopters asked for pictures and updates numerous times within that timeframe. We received no updates on where the dogs were until 9:11 am the following morning when she was still in the ******* area instead of on the way for her route as we were informed. Upon stating we were not satisfied with the lack of communication and unknown status of the dogs we informed her to stay where she was to allow us to come pick them up. She left our dogs at a doggy daycare with no information given to us on their location beyond a picture of the front of the building. We requested an address and phone number and she declined. Due to her defaulting on her contact terms, we requested a refund of $800 directly from ****** and she refused. We incurred the $800 transport fee with her company, canceled adoptions totaling a loss of $1000 in adoption fees, gas to and from our location to *******, as well as the loss of health certificates for the dogs in the amount of $280. We request a refund totaling these sums minus gas of $2080.
