    I purchased a home with a warranty on a pool cover. The seller had scheduled repairs to be made but as of sale date repairs were not made. This seller has warranty information and said that the cover has had issues and they have had to replace pulleys and sliders before, but no worries it has a warranty. So I called ******* to discuss this, and he asked for pictures of the pool and issues. I agreed that I could have them the following day, he said no need he has a guy in the area and could take a look at it. *** goes buy my house, met my mom, talked to me on the phone asking the issues, then left. I received text messages from ******* at 10:30PM stating that we owe 950 dollars for a service fee. I returned the messages with a call asking again about the work, that he supplied pictures for, stating we only asked for you to look at it one, and two wouldnt it be warranty work, with some charges of course for parts/ or labor. He said no they charge was 225 for the call, 475 in labor, 375 for parts, and 150 cleaning fee. I explained that I didnt ask for the work one, and two this would be warranty work. He stated that Coverstar doesnt offer warranty on wearable parts, just on the cover itself and the mechanism. I said ok. So now lets discuss the guy being there for 45 minutes and charging 475. He said price is what it is and if I dont like it he will go back and take the parts then he hung up on me. I asked even for warranty on a $15,000 pool cover, on work that wasnt asked for? I asked that we meet at a reasonable price and he told me payment is due now or he will go take the parts off and leave it a mess like it was again. I offered to cover parts, as that is a reasonable price, but they were already there and only supposed to take pictures. At the time I contacted previous owner who stated that yes they did replace these items as warranty work last time. I told **************** would like to dispute the cover damage as it has a hole and would be damaged and not fixed.

    They installed the pool cover in April 2022.It malfunctioned 6 weeks later.About 4 1/2 months later it broke.They fixed it for $425.That was Oct. 2022. We did not use it in the winter.My pool maintenance guy opened and closed it when he cleaned the pool.We started using the pool in May 2023. The cover broke again (would not open) in July.They said it would cost $525 to come and fix it again.But in the end they did not fix it all summer.Poor response from the company.I paid a guy open the cover who knew how to manually open it or we would have had no swimming.I told him that it sticks in the same place since the beginning problems.That was July 2023.I heard from him Aug. and he Said he would fix it.In December I told him it was my last attempt to contact him after leaving voicemails and texts.He finally texted me that they would no longer be servicing pools in our area.He would refer me to someone but never did.I absolutely wish I had not wasted almost $14,000 on this automatic cover.

    We have serviced this customer twice. The first time was free of charge.This pool is used occasionally as an Airbnb or weekend rental according to the customers pool service company The issues found and addressed were user error related. The guest receive no proper instructions on how to operate the cover before they arrive.   *********** tech stated the the cover has had issues primarily after guest have used the cover. We did not sell this cover or receive any compensation from this homeowner other than the service call we performed over a year ago. Our contract was with her pool builder. We have tried to find a service company to help her out but are unable to find one. We would be willing to accommodate this customer if they would be willing to pay a travel charge.
