Date of Transaction: June 28, 2023 /August 22, 2023/ August 23, 2023/ October 02, 2023 Amount of Money Paid: $4,409.00 What the business committed to provide you: 10 Days Holy Land Pilgrimage What the nature of the dispute is: It has been nearly a year since the business canceled the trip due to the war. They have not reimbursed me yet. On October 24, 2023 an email was sent about processing a refund when they receive their funds back minus $300 that they were not going to refund and obligate us to use it as credit or lose it. It has been a year since I paid. I contacted them on January 3, 2024 and received no response. I contacted them on June 13, 2024. As of June 19, 2024 they are getting back to me and mailed me a refund for $4,100 and a $300 credit as of June 19, 2024. They held my money for a year and I do not want a credit with their company, I would like my refund in its entirety. They charge fees for late payments and I paid on time, but they are irresponsible in refunding on time. I kept a clear line of communication and they didn't always respond. This was a very unpleasant experience and I would like my refund in full because the trip was canceled on their part and because it has taken nearly a year to return $4,309.00 to me. Payment was maid via Zelle to Group Name: NP-2981. I can provide email correspondence and receipt upon request. Thank you for looking into this matter.Business Response

We are relieved that the traveler has received a refund/reimbursement. It has been a long process to retrieve the monies from the third-party vendors related to the trip. Traveler's money is not 'held', but distributed out to the airlines, hotels, ground transportation and tour guides for each trip. We will further investigate if any communication was lacking during this unusual event, and this will be addressed. We do issue late fees for late payments if necessary. As stated, our records do not show any late payments from this poster. In this extreme situation, the company did issue travel credit in lieu of nonrefundable deposits. Company policy regarding nonrefundable deposits is clearly stated in our terms and conditions at the time of registration and can be viewed on our website at: *************************************Customer Answer

Nativity Pilgrimage has strict policies on charing late fees to its customers.
Customers will receive late fees if they are not paid in full:
100 days 61 days prior to departure$150
60 days 30 days prior to departure.$300
30 days day before departure.Subject to cancellation
Where Nativity Pilgrimage imposes practices to discourage late payments and to receive customer payments in a timely fashion, they did not act in the same manner. It took an entire year to receive a portion of my refund.
Because Nativity Pilgrimage canceled the tour I paid for, I am entitled to the $300 the company withheld from my original payment and is forcing to use as credit towards another trip. The website of Nativity Pilgrimage states, No refund will be made for any used portion of the tour unless arrangements are made prior to departure from *****************. There was 0% of the trip that was used. Therefore, I am to receive my $300 as a reimbursement check and not as credit. I am requesting a full refund.

Amaris

Went on a 14 day pilgrimage trip this company put together to ******, *****, ******** 4/29/24-5/12/24. Their brochure and itinerary advertised 35 sights/places we would see and visit. We only saw 17 of the 35. Terrible planning and really fraudulent enticement. 4 weeks ago emailed 3 members of the business, one the president or owner of the company. Have had NO RESPONSE. One week ago left a message for one of the people in the email, was told once they got my name that she was at lunch and would return my call. She has not returned my call. Asked for 50% back of what I paid because we saw less than 50% of sights promised in the fraudulent brochure and itinerary.Business Response

April 29 through May 12, 2024 I attended the advertised Pilgrimage. As you will read in my letter, it was very much false advertising, and we were not able to see many (13) sites promised in the brochure. We did not see them due to not physically enough time in the day to travel so many miles and visit that many sites. Nativity clearly did not research what they were advertising versus reality. I asked for partial refund of $1000. The company has completely gone silent. No response at all. They have also ignored others who have been in contact with me from this trip. The priest who went with us is also very disappointed and feels that the company should issue partial refunds. This was very deceptive advertising!! And we are wondering since the money went through the mail if it is also mail fraud?Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
Until this company actually issues my partial refund, this is not acceptable. Their response states they are waiting on the guides report. It was made very clear in my complaint that it had nothing to do with the guides performance and everything to do with the company promising a trip that was not actually physically possible. I am in contact with others who have also sent complaints weeks ago about this trip to Nativity and they are still being ignored. I believe they only have responded to mine due to BBB being involved. I expect you will be receiving complaints from the others shortly.I am very thankful for BBB being involved to help insure this company actually follows through with my partial refund of $1000. I do not want to travel with this company in the future so anything else would not be acceptable.

My husband and I paid ***** to nativity pilgrimage for a trip to ****** 10/23-11/3/23. We also paid ******* intl ins. $656.00 to fully insure our trip. We are senior citizens, my husband a 20 year veteran of the air force. We saved every ***** for this trip because it was the highest on our bucket list and do to our age and health probably the last opportunity to do it. We thought going with a church group would be safe and our payment would be 100% secure. Due to the conflict in ****** our trip was understandably cancelled by Nativity Pilgrimage . We were told by nativity pilgrimage to file to the insurance for the refund. They helped us file the claim. The insurance denied the claim and said Nativity cancelled and they were responsible to refund us. Per Nativity Pilgrimage we appealed to insurance but they again denied responsibility because Nativity Pilgrimage cancelled trip. After telling Nativity pilgrimage about the appeal being denied they said thank you for appealing to the insurance, we will refund you the $***** dollars that you paid us for the trip. Since than this has been an ongoing battle with Nativity Pilgrimage to get our refund. We have called and emailed and each time were told the checks for our group would be going out next week. Our last email sent on 5/16/23 has not been answered. We are on a fixed income and need your help to receive our rightful refund. Please let us know if you will help us get our refund. Thank youBusiness Response

We believe the response from Nativity Pilgrimage to Ms. **** was crossed with her complaint on BBB, due to the aftermath of the ******* storm and power outage. We do have a record of the May 16 email from the traveler. Our Operations team member responded within 48 hrs. of returning to the office. This is our policy.
Any resolutions of a group travel issue are processed under group guidelines as we continue to work with the third-party vendors involved in the pilgrimage. This particular pilgrimage was rescheduled to a future date, so the group as a whole will not resolve until June 2024. Nativity Pilgrimage will continue to communicate with all affected parties until the issue is resolved.Initial Complaint

Paid a trip for February 2024. October cancelled still awaiting my full refund till date 03/28/2024. This company has not responded to emails, calls since Febuary with me after my initial February 2024 complaint. I 2ant my FULL refund tbey cancelled the trip not me. Credit is issued if customer cancelled trip and $300 taken I didn't cancel tbis trip. They owe me $1300 after 9 months of trip cancelled is absolutely ridiculous and to keep pretending you do not knowbthe traveller is absurd. Shame on you ****** ****** and your business of fraudsters ******** *****, ******* ********* and yourself. Your running a total scam to Christians. [Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]Hello, I have sent several emails complaints and seeking resolution with this Nativity Pilgrimage company to get my refund. I have sent several evidences to proof my transaction with them and I will attach them here again as well. I have contacted this company several times, they have stopped responding to me and have several times claimed to not knowbthevtraveller when I send everything showing who I am in details. There's nothing I signed citing if THEY camcelled trip I get a future travel future nothing. I do not want a travel voucher I want my full refund I paid for a trip, they cancelled, I get my money back nothing else.
I have written to the attorney generals office about this today as all my efforts for this seems futile.
They have no rights to keep my $1300 I paid towards a trip they cancelled NOT me. Trip was for Febuary 2024 to ******. That didn't happen, I had no plans to go any other times. They need to refund my funds, the business saying on my complaint traveller should contact them to resolve this has failed as I have sent in several almost 20 emails and they stopped responding Febuary 22nd 2024 more than a month ago.
I am not satisfied with the outcomes of my several complains and nobody is taking my complains seriously. I want my full refund, I never signed anything to get a future. I do not want a travel voucher and will not be traveling ever with this company.
I paid these funds $300 in July 2023 and $1000 in September 2023. This is almost 9 months I have been asking for my refunds since October 2023. This company has no basis to hold my funds. I want my complete refund and I have been asking it.
The BBB is here to help customers like me, and I get back I have no basis for my complains when I attached evidences of my business transactions? Unbelievable. I want my refund I have no desire to ever travel with this company ever, there's nothing I signed for them to issue a voucher instead of a refund whatsoever. I never signed anything of sort and for them to just decide by themselves to issue a future travel credit it's a no. I want my refund nothing else.
I have filed a complaint with the ********************** because this company is a total scam. Scamming others as well as me. Just in my group 14 each lost $300 for travel plans for a trip they cancelled and mine is entire $1300. They have no basis to hold my funds. Trip didn't happen refund my money.

Such a shame as a business. You have absolutely no shame. What is fair and comprehensive to me the customer is my full refund for a trip I paid and the business cancelled not me. You have no legal rights to withhold my funds. I signed no documentation citing if you can't give me the trip I paid for, you keep my funds. Such a shame. Of all your writing above, you did not anwer my complaint not provide a solution which is my refund. This scamming company lures Christians and scams them.
You did not anwer my issue and did not provide a solution. As of today you owe me $1300 I paid towards a trip you cancelled. Where's my refund? Provide the document I signed saying if you cancel trip you keep my funds.
Dishonest business. I will continue to update my reviews monthly and post my responses online and will escalate my complains above BBB. Your not accredited shame on you. 9 months and ongoing. Your business stopped responding to emails after my first complaint to BBB. Why are you holding my funds? I paid for a trip, didn't happen, refund my funds periodt. It has been pulling teeth to get my refunds back. I didn't go on the trip. I'm never going to any trip with your company over my death body will I ever travel with your company. We have diligently reviewed the cases of our travelers during the unforeseen and tragic events in ******. Many of our tours were interrupted by the war, aUecting many of our clients and impacting our business and our third-party partners in the *********. In regard to the required traveler deposits: Our Terms and Conditions clearly state the $300 deposit is non-refundable. Included in our brochures and other binding agreements signed by each applicant. The option to purchase insurance coverage in the event of a financial loss due to a trip is clearly indicated within our brochures and other tour-related paperwork. In the unlikely or unforeseen event of trip cancellations, we also oUer the option of trip transfer credit, ranging in amounts and terms. A message from our CEO: We want to highlight the extensive resources invested in pilgrimage preparation, including itinerary creation, website development, brochure design, marketing materials, application processing, payments, hotel selection, tour guides, and airlines. With a dedicated team of 25 individuals, we adjusted our terms and conditions to align with the realities of the situation. Also, our policy, clearly stated in the brochure signed by each participant, outlines non-refundable fees based on the timeline from registration to departure.Customer Answer

My husband and I purchased a trip for a pilgrimage to ****** with this company. the Trip was supposed to take place on 11/11/23. Due to the war in ******, we could not attend this trip. We purchased insurance for our trip and had the option to cancel for any reason. The nativity pilgrimage encouraged us those of us that had insurance to file a claim and they assured us that they would reimburse us back any money not covered by the insurance company. We received 75% of our trip cost. The trip cost for my both my husband and I was a total of $7998.00 and the insurance company paid us $5998.50. The nativity pilgrimage assured us that they would reimburse $1999.50 which is the remaining 25% the insurance did not cover. They called me back in Dec. 2023 and informed me that we should be receiving our money by end of year or Jan. **** month, all of the folks from our church that purchased the same trip and had no insurance have received all of the money back with the exception of $300. The folks that had insurance and field a claim as suggested are, yet to see our 25 % portion of our trip from the Nativity Pilgrimage company. I have called numerous times since the beginning of this year and every time they tell me I should have in 2 weeks. I am very disappointed with the way they have handled this and do not understand why others with no insurance from our trip have already received all of their money and we have not.Business Response

We were originally scheduled to travel with this tour agency on October 26th 2023 but they canceled our trip and rebooked us for November 3rd 2023. A week before our trip they cancel again due to circumstances in ******. They have promised to refund us about $8000 as they are keeping $600 in deposit fees for two travelers. BBB Business Profiles are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgment. BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
