1 starMy dads truck broke down had to do a rebuild on the transmission for $1750 we thought that was a pretty good deal that was in October on the 15th I believe then on January 21st the truck was leaking transmission fluid so called the shop it was still under warranty we had to pay a wrecker of our choice to come get it their wrecker wanted to charge us 200 for such a short distance they had the truck from January 21st until January 31st I kept having to call to get updates they would tell me it would be ready a certain day and then it wouldn’t be ready then they said they had to replace limes that should’ve already replaced the first time and that it would cost another 235 for that then they said they had take the transmission apart then they said they had to change something else each time I called to get a update I was told someone would call me back which didn’t happen finally the manager John called and tried to tell me that my dad would owe over 1000. more for their parts and labor that should’ve been done to begin with so when I got upset then he decided they would go ahead and only charge 275. even though their work was still under warranty and they obviously did not do the job right the first time they tried to say my dad drove the truck without transmission fluid much I knew for a fact was a lie seeing how the transmission fluid was all over my driveway and he hardly goes anywhere to begin with so after picking the truck up on January 31st he drove it home parked it in the driveway and when he went to leave to go to the store the next day there was a big puddle of transmission fluid on the driveway once again my husband calls the show the lady at the front give the main bosses number the main boss was more upset that he was being bothered on a Saturday than the fact that his employees are doing bad work on customers vehicles and he hung up on my husband so I most definitely will never take anything to their shop and I would never recommend them to anyoneReview fromVirginia Z

1 starMy transmission receipt "remove dismantle and inspect all internal components' "Rebuilt/Reconditioned transmission assembly with rebuilt/exchanged torque converter. My car when you park- you still have to nudge it for the car to turn off. Robert was very sweet in the beginning to "get our business". When picking up my car, Robert told me "the car is vibrating". , only the transmission that actually failed on me. I told him upfront, my car never had this issue. . Went back again with my husband, told him the same thing, the car is vibrating very loud. Robert informed that we could buy the part for the motor mount and fix it, but they could not do if for free. I told him I only wanted my car with the transmission. not to pay for other services "they did". My husband then said "well we can take it to a mechanic and have him look at it". At that point Robert completely lost his composure, and asked my husband "ARE YOU THREATING ME"!!! My husband said "NO" . So then I asked Robert if I could get a copy of all the notes taken when the car was brought in to see if they made notations of the vibration (mind you my car did turn on, it just would not go forward or backwards. Robert responded "oh nice" and said no these are for our records. Needless to say nothing came of that. I just had to drive around with a noisy vibrating car . This was 05/15/24. Fast forward now, 01/14/25 I took my car to another mechanic for some lights I still had on (Robert did note the lights on my car as well). In doing so I mentioned how much we paid for this rebuilt transmission and the shop left my car vibrating. As the mechanic put the machine to get the reading. he asked me "you said you paid how much to rebuild the transmission, my response $4344.00" he said ma'am- this transmission came from a junkyard. Mechanic informed me I could have bought the part for $2500 at a junkyard. . Deceptive practices. NOT BBB APPROVEDReview fromMalerie A

1 starRichmond location: Went in because I noticed my RPM fluctuating and a high pitch noise. They told me they need to look internally on my transmission because they can’t just figure out what’s wrong from the outside. Next day I agreed for them to drop the transmission for $550 because they gave me no other options and I trusted their advice. I was under the impression that there was seriously something wrong with my transmission when they “dropped it.” They gave me an estimate for a rebuild which was almost $5000, so went to get a second opinion at another shop and at the dealership. Took my truck to the dealership, ended up I did not have any issues with my transmission. GMC even said there were no signs of tools on the bolts to take off the pan(universal saying they dropped it from the front?) I asked Andrew for the codes they scanned and there were no codes that had to do with my transmission, only the body control module. The dealership did a diagnostic for a few days to look into the transmission as well, but they did not find anything wrong with it. Dealership took apart my transmission just like they did and everything was fine (yes I spent more money to take a look at my transmission).
Addressed this with Andrew and basically all I got was it was my choice to let them drop the transmission for $550 and I could’ve told them no..and they were just going off of what I said and what his technician said on what was going on with my truck. I understand that I could’ve told them no, but what I don’t like is they did not say anything about body control module and went straight to “we need to take the transmission apart.” After dropping it and asking for the codes a few days later, he finally tells me the overall issue was the body control module. Even if this were the procedures that they absolutely had to go through, they quoted me for a rebuild which was absolutely unnecessary as well as dropping my transmission to look into it. No refund was given to me.Universal Transmission Complete Auto Repair, LLC

Hello, when you have issues with body control module, you would have codes present. If there is no codes present you would go to the mechanical side of the transmission. This is when we do an RDI. I am glad that the dealership fixed your vehicle.Review fromAdriene W

1 starExtremely Unprofessional Service; Mechanics are unreliable; my truck was transferred from shop-to-shop like they had no knowledge of what they were doing & ALWAYS A DIFFERENT MECHANIC/SERVICE PERSON; they took over a month to get an engine replacement & they put in a piece of junk that only lasted 5months & WONT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY/PARTS after I paid $4650. The day it was ready, I picked it up and the Reservoir Box had OIL in it-BRAND NEW RADIATOR but OIL was in the overflow, so I dropped it back off IMMEDIATELY AFTER PICKING IT UP & they claim they “FORGOT TO CHECK & FIX THIS ISSUE & they FORGOT TO PLUG SOME OF THE MOTOR PLUGS BACK UP PROPERLY…WOW!!!
This place/company is a BUNCH OF CON-ARTISTS WHO RIP OFF ANYONE THEY CAN…PLEASE DO NOT HAVE YOUR VEHICLE SERVICED AT ANY OF THE LOCATIONS, UNLESS YOU WANT A HEADACHE & a HUGE LOSS TO YOUR POCKETS!Universal Transmission Complete Auto Repair, LLC
