Unless you are a true pool chemist yourself, DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY for a "new plaster" job. They do not offer to balance your new plaster chemicals, do any brushing, etc. It is not an option on their contract, so please hire a company that provides this service; it is worth whatever the cost. We ended up with some immediate plaster problems and since you are on your own, whatever happens is your own fault and they cancel their warranty. There is no other choice. So now we are left with a bad-looking job and a chemical nightmare. In addition, I was shocked at how rudely and aggressively I was spoken to by the owner when I first contacted him about the problem. There was no excuse for this behavior.

Ms. ************ had the option to have our company perform Aftercare brushings and water chemistry balancing for an additional fee. We extended that option to her. What is included with the price of the replaster is a one-time brushing with some muriatic acid applied to the water for the purpose of removing plaster dust particles that are free-floating in the water as well as some dichlor to aid in the initial sanitizing of the water. This service was completed on the pool by our company. Ms. ************ chose to have her pool service professional take over the after care of the surface and water chemistry balance rather than engage our company for that service. In July 2022, Ms. Throckmorton contacted our company regarding the pool surface finish. A technician was sent to investigate the condition of the surface and the water which directly effects the surface stability. The water sample was processed by Leslie's Pool Supply and showed Calcium Hardness at 200 ppm over the recommended range, alkalinity was at 47 ppm and is recommended to be kept at 90 - 100 ppm, cyanuric acid was at 120 ppm and the recommended level is 30 - 50 ppm. These chemistry levels result in a very aggressive water that will breakdown the materials in the plaster surface finish. I explained this to Ms. Throckmorton but she did not receive the information as factual and a responsibility of her pool service professional. The 10 year warranty for the surface material explains that improper water chemistry will void the warranty of the material. As we were not responsible for the aftercare of the pool after the surface material was applied and the ongoing care of the water chemistry balance and care of the pool and as the water chemistry was out of balance to the point of being corrosive to the surface materials, there was no warranty recourse. However, we did offer to do a one-time polish of the surface to return the surface to a smooth feel but this offer was not accepted by Ms. ************.

"......had the option to have our company perform Aftercare brushings and water chemistry balancing for an additional fee. We extended that option to her." ".......rather than engage our company for that service." This was never offered to me. "However, we did offer to do a one-time polish of the surface to return the surface to a smooth feel but this offer was not accepted by Ms. ************." The two offers above stated by the Authentic owner did not happen. Their contract clearly states "Customer responsible for chemical balance and brushing pool/backwash or clean filter as needed until all dust is removed." So I never questioned this policy and he never offered to provide these services. "I explained this to Ms. Throckmorton but she did not receive the information as factual and a responsibility of her pool service professional." I have no idea what this statement means, other than it is a personal criticism. Of course I understand that pool chemistry is important to the plaster. Yes, I expected that our pool tech could take care of the water chemicals (I never denied that), but when the chemistry went wrong and the plaster looked bad, all I did was ask for suggestions for what to do about it. In return, I got a nasty phone call telling me what a horrible pool tech I employed and how badly negligent we were. I did not deserve that treatment and I do not deserve these inaccurate comments. I stand by my statement to not hire this company.
