1 starWhat a HORRIBLE COMPANY! They paid one time and now, with the same paperwork, suddenly, it's not good enough, then added clinical notes and additional paperwork, STILL they want more. They never return information and KEEP REJECTING every claim wanting MORE AND MORE of basically the same information - I wish to the good Lord I would have read these comments before paying them hundreds - SAVE YOUR MONEY and RUN AWAY! You'll have to cancel and waste tons of time and paperwork.Manhattan Life Group, Inc.

1 starThere claims department is terrible! I filed a claim back in May and I've been getting the run around since the first day. Once I was able to get the claim properly filed, filing out continuation forms every month is even worse! Calling the numbers listed as well as any numbers attached to documents the company sends is a waste of time. No one ever picks up. I have to submit the same exact forms every month to continue my claim and just like clockwork, I receive multiple responses telling me something is incomplete and I refile the same exact forms and it's accepted or I'm told something completely different isn't completed. Of course since no one ever picks up when I call or replies when I try and chat online, I'm left trying to play the guessing game with Manhattan. I just want someone to communicate to me so that I can get immediate responses to my questions. Thank you.Manhattan Life Group, Inc.

1 starI have never been so disappointed in a medical insurance company. A family member was diagnosed with cancer and the insurance is refusing to pay the claims even though they are covered. The claims department is very slow. There is no sense of urgency. They do not put patient care as their top priority. Delaying treatment is not an option yet Manhattan does not care. I would love to speak with someone of importance who does care about their clients.Manhattan Life Group, Inc.

1 starI called manhattan life disability department over 4 times requesting forms to be mailed to my house and I never received them. Every time I call, they lie and say the papers were mailed. They also told me an automated system sends out the mail and blame it on the postal service. I had someone from that state mail me a letter and got it in 2 days. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!! THEY WILL TRY TO GET INTO YOUR ACCOUNT AND TAKE AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE THEN TRY TO SAY YOU HAVEN’T PAID YOUR BILL!!!!!! IN ONE MONTH THEY WENT INTO MY ACCOUNT 8 TIMES AND NOW THAT I TRY TO PAY THIS MONTH THEY’RE TRYING TO SAY I OWE FOR LAST MONTH AS WELL EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A BANK STATEMENT SHOWING THEY NOT ONLY TOOK MY PAYMENT FOR LAST MONTH BUT THEY WENT IN SEVERAL TIMES OVER TAKING MORE MONEY!!!!!!!! I have dealt with 5 of your supervisors that were no help at all. They all had different excuses and when I told them what they’re doing is illegal they threatened to cancel my policy and not pay for some of the services I had done. Y’all are corrupt. Y’all are bullies and thieves. Y’all know it would be cheaper to keep all the money y’all took from me instead of me paying for the services I had done!!!!!! I have emails and recorded phone calls. Y’all keep blaming the agent that started my policy saying he gave me the wrong info and because of that he put me behind in my payments. That’s NOT my fault he’s contracted through y’all. Maybe y’all should better train them!!!!! I should NOT have to pay to cover up yall mistake!!!!!! I’m an army widow living on a fixed income and y’all want to steal what little money I get!!!!!!! 1 starI have a cancer policy with Manhattan Life and have been trying to collect on a claim since March, they keep requesting more info and I have collected just a few dollars. They refused to pay for my wife’s chemo treatment, when I send what they ask for they in turn send a letter for more info. It has been almost 5 months. This company is a rip off. I have had this policy for many years and the first time using it they won’t pay.Manhattan Life Group, Inc.

After much more stress I was able to collect some more money but was still not paid the amount that I should have received. I definitely would not recommend this company to anyone. They are the hardest company I have ever delt with and their customer service is awful.

1 starFilled out all doctor & job forms and you claim it's not good enough. Job gave partiial disability dates. They had no light duty under my limitations. Doctor will only put dates i was seen not days of no work. I'm getting the run around

1 starMy father has a cancer policy with Manhattan life. It has been such an unpleasant experience dealing with them ever since he was diagnosed with Acute Myloid Leukemia. Every claim submitted was a struggle- from getting wrong information to having to send documents with diagnosis EVERY time we sent in a claim. The last straw is this. We filed a claim and after a few months, the account online, my fathers account says a check was mailed to him. After approximately a month goes by and no check in the mail. I called and they stated the check was cashed. We NEVER received the check. The representative told me to contact the local authorities. What? Ludicrous! I do not know any details of bank, when it was actually mailed , etc... she said there was nothin Manhattan Life could do. I asked "do you have a fraud department?" She said there was nothing she could do and hung up. The check was suppose to be for $653.

1 starAbsolutely worst company to deal with! Horrible customer service! You never get the same story and can't even speak to a claims examiner. They do nothing but dent even though there is medical evidence of you needing to be on short term disability. They claim they fax forms but no one ever receives them!! Their customer service reps claim to know medical stuff yet they give misinformation and have spoken horribly about my physician. Do they even grant anyone STD?? All the revenue they bring in of people paying their premiums and they just pocket it all!!Manhattan Life Group, Inc.
