I hired Bryan Fagan law firm to transfer my guardianship for my adult Autistic son from ** to ***** when we moved. I was told that it would be simple and could be done within 6 months and the cost could be under $3,500. From the beginning there were many mistakes made on the attorneys end that they continued to charge me for. I was charged for things that they said they did that were never done. I have a charge to file a motion to show a co guardian is deceased when we are both alive, they continually charge for nonsense. After my case didn't move forward for month(even though I continued to be charged) I went to the courthouse and they said they were missing paperwork that the attorney supposedly filed months prior. The court also said they hadn't heard from my attorney in months. I've had numerous unanswered emails and calls to them. I've asked them repeatedly to stop charging my credit card but they continue. I've asked for a copy of my bill repeatedly and they will not provide one. They've charged around $9,000 and it's not finished and it's been almost a year.

My main complaint is that they charged my girl friends credit card $2,432.00 on Friday June 13th, without her permission. We were told by the Firm upon hiring them, her card would be used to open the case but would not be charged. We were told they would obtain a new card for when my Trust Balance needed to be increased. They also told us they would not charge anything without notifying me. None of the things they said were carried out this way. Also, I've paid close to $10,000 on my case and haven't even been to court yet! When they say they have a "Team" working FOR you, what they mean is they are billing you for a Team. Every meeting and phone call get's billed to you for EACH person in that meeting or on that phone call. I've tried to terminate their services and I'm being told they will continue to work my case (and bill my case) until the Judge signs the order of withdrawal. This is insane! I attained the lawyer; not the Judge. He didn't pay the Firm. I did.

Date of Transaction:I hired the Law Office of Bryan Fagan in June 2024. The attorney withdrew from my case in June 2025.Amount Paid:I paid over $10,000 for legal services related to a simple, uncontested step-parent adoption. What the Business Committed to Provide:The firm committed to handling the step-parent adoption efficiently and professionally, including timely filing of all required documents, clear communication about case progress, and competent legal representation from start to finish.Nature of Dispute:The firm failed to file essential paperwork on time, resulting in nearly a year of delays and the dismissal of my case without notifying me. Despite providing all requested documents promptly and contesting excessive billing, I was charged primarily for internal meetings and delays that did not advance my case. The attorney eventually withdrew, citing my unpaid balance, although I had attempted multiple times to resolve billing disputes. The firm showed poor communication and a lack of transparency throughout the process.Whether or Not the Business Has Tried to Resolve the Problem:No. Despite my multiple attempts to contact them and sending two formal demand letters, the firm has not provided any meaningful response or resolution.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.

This reply is disingenuous at best. I have reached out multiple times, including via email and through formal demand letters from my representative, and have not received any resolution. I did question the billing, in writing by my representative, and was ignored.

Offering a line-by-line review after withdrawing from my case, getting it dismissed, and still sending new charges is not helpful or sincere.

The firm's response here does not reflect the actual experience I had, which included lack of communication, excessive internal meetings billed to me without progress, and ultimately a failure to appear in court that led to the dismissal of my case. Now they continue to send invoices despite no longer representing me.

This is not customer service, this is damage control.

I hire Bryan and Fagan for a non contested divorce in Oct 2024. I was told a deposit of $2000 and $500 a month and that it was fairly simple and would only take a few months. Since then they have stood me up for numerous meetings they set with me and cost me time from work, they have ignored phone calls and emails, passed me to three different teams between ******* and San Antonio firms delaying my case and not informing me of the process, they have requested the same documents that I have provided each team repeatedly claiming they dont have those documents, they have over charged and claimed in numerous management meetings how sorry they were and would fix it only to not fix it for months and when our last meeting happened on 5/16 got an attitude and told me theyve done nothing wrong theyve given me a small courtesy credit, only for the next day to be emailed to my private account from another client of theirs telling me she got my information from the firm because they sent her some one my personal information and case documents to her email. The client apologized for reading them and invading my privacy. No my divorce has been delayed I dont have a lawyer had to fire them and Im down thousands and have been doing nothing during my divorce but fighting my own lawyers and being caused financial stress and emotional stress and have to worry about my personal information being leaked.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.   I have already met with management at both the ******* and San Antonio firm both on the lawyer side and finance side since I was bounced back and forth to both and it resolved nothing, and meeting with finance does not resolve the poor practices, delaying of my case, false promises, and sharing my personal and case information against my will with other clients. It does not rectify me still having no divorce being out of thousands and having to hire a new attorney because you all broke client confidentiality. And Frankly, *** had other clients email me and seen others say the same poor practices has happened to them. This appears to be the fraudulent way Bryan and Fagan practices not with just me but for years with others as well. So their justification that they told me of mishaps, and staffing issues, and family emergencies has oddly be going on for years now and is a pattern.

I retained this firm for a modification hearing. I was told they could help with me a new hearing. After paying over 3k, I was told by the attorney the day before the hearing, that she didnt think we could get the hearing that she spent all of this money preparing for. She reviewed the results from the initial hearing, and made the decision at that point. If this was contingent on that review, why wasnt it done first? There is also a loan I took out with ******, that was sugggested by the company via email. I cant get them to respond to me after several emails and a phone call about where this money is. And theyve drafted my account for over $1200.00 when it should have come from that loan I put into the trust.

On February 14 2025 Im had my free consultation, at that time I asked the attorney I was meeting with if I could go ahead and use a credit card that I was only an authorized user on, but belonged to my husband who we would be filing divorce on. The attorney said it was which led me to believe that the $18,000 would be fine to give them off this card they took it. They then proceeded in one month to rack up over $18,000 in charges then my soon to ex-husband called the credit card company and claimed charges fraud and the firm called me and said there was a charge back mind you thats all the money that Ive given them is the $18,000 off the credit card when they called me and told me there was a charge back then sent another invoice in this invoice there was well over $7000 paid by me and well over $7000 still owed by me only thing is I didnt give them anything but this credit card because I didnt have anything besides this so how could a credit card company charge back $11,000 but not $7000 off of $18,000 this is a predatory law firm since that time they assigned my case to a new lawyer who will not represent me because well I owe them $7000 they will not however formally tell me that theyre not going to represent me so I can get legal aid mind you my husband and I filed taxes for over $300,000 last year so its not like theyre not gonna get their money in the end . Im a domestic violence survivor this Lawyer was supposed to file the paperwork for a quick divorce. That being said no actual orders have been filed since we went to TRO hearing no actual anything has been done on my case except for to make me look like a fool. You feel enough like a fool when youre domestic violence survivor you dont need your attorney to assault you again. I may add that as of tomorrow I will be giving them all of the money I have access to at this time. Thats when I fully expect them to drop me predatory practice.

I hired Bryan Fagan Law Offices in December 2024. So far, I've paid $3,775.15 for virtually nothing. I was initially promised that we could get everything I was asking for in the divorce, as this was a domestic violence situation. I contested my spouse's filing on grounds of difference in personality, and we contested that. The next step was to file an answer, which they still haven't done months later. I was told that this would only cost $700/month and should be concluded by May 2025. That was clearly a lie, as it's now March and they haven't even set a mediation date. They switched my lawyer with no notice and the lawyer missed our initial client meeting. I had to follow up four times just to get that initial meeting with my new lawyer. She said she'd reach out to the opposing counsel and give me an update. That was a whole month ago, and despite several attempts to get in touch with my lawyer, I've still not gotten an update. I don't know the status of my case and yet I've been charged repeatedly. I left my request with the receptionist expecting a call back with an update. Instead, the paralegal called to ask what I want an update on, and I was charged $63 for that phone call, even though I had already given that information previously. I still don't have an update.I called SEVEN times this morning trying to resolve this and cancel my contract with them/ask for a refund for everything except contesting the divorce (the ONE thing they have done). I was transferred to another client, then to a power company, hung up on multiple times, and finally the receptionist said she'd have someone call me back by this afternoon. I still haven't heard from anyone and I unfortunately just looked at their reviews to realize other clients have had the exact same problems. This seems to be a regular occurrence. They quote a low amount, then charge people astronomical amounts once they sign the contract. This is completely unethical and a total scam. I'd like a refund.

This client has received a credit of $4,552, both as
a courtesy and for drafting documents that were not ultimately used in court
due to a change in case strategy by his new attorney. I have informed Mr.
Colon that while these credits were granted, our policy is never to
revise invoices once issued. Instead, we apply credits to any outstanding
balances or future services/refunds from the operating account if
    applicable.

Despite multiple conversations where I have explained this
to him, Mr. ***** continues to request that we revise the invoices to reflect
different amounts. We have attempted to clarify the application of these
credits, which have already reduced his outstanding balance to $3,254.81.
However, he is refusing to pay, citing a lack of understanding of how the
    credits were applied.

I have offered to meet with him in person to walk through
the invoices and show him exactly where the credit notes have been applied, but
he has declined. That said, I remain available at his convenience to review
these invoices should he decide to proceed with an in-person discussion.

Please let me know how youd like to proceed.

I didn't ask this firm for the work they done When addressing them of this matter they were informed that their services were canceled due to them lying about the services they could provide for me They refused to give me the bar numbers of the attorneys and the office location to address the matter in person When they gave me a video meeting these matters were addressed amongst the fact they couldn't agree what services they actually offered and stated the person who accepted my money didn't know what they did at the firm and had nothing to do with my case, but he was the only person with my card number They also kept charging me after explaining I would be informed about any charges from the team I met with, yet this wasn't the case The whole process was a scam I have been contacting them for months

    Regards,
This complaint was made due to this firm deciding what to due unprepared and consistently build me when trying to ask them to what was asked of them versus them just making money off of me

I also explained to them prior to any agreement and was lead to believe it was understood amongst feasible

They had a meeting where they didn't agree on what they did as a firm and then charged me in multitude asking for my refund due to them disagreeing in a meeting with me what the firm actually did

I only wanted a service rendered which wasn't received amongst blown off when reaching out to them amongst charge to do so after being instructed by them to to ensure any service

I paid more trying to get them to stop charging me then receiving any service
