    I rarely post negative reviews, but I feel the need to warn customers about the experience I had with ********************. I selected my preferences when I signed up, and I selected that I didnt want more than a $200 early termination fee. I got an email saying they had found me a great new plan, and it looked like they were only implying that my new plan would have an early termination fee if I were to cancel it early. The emails said NOTHING about my current plan and what kind of fee I would be looking at if I cancelled. I accepted the new plan, only to get hit with a $300 ETF from that company. I didnt know that was happening until I got my final bill with them. Conveniently, that bill hit my email 3 days after I cancelled, and because it was out of office hours for energy ogre, I was outside of their 3 business day timeframe to cancel and remain with my current provider. Energy ogres best option was to give me a $30 credit (crediting me for the energy ogre service for a few months). They took no responsibility. I was able to cancel my energy ogre account and stay with the company they moved me to, but I will now still have to pay the $300 ETF from my previous provider. Not at all worth moving companies. I believe they purposely left this out of my emails/documents so that I would still sign up with them. Beware! Theyll take advantage of your situation.

    My overall experience with Energy Ogre was not horrible. They were responsive and answered my questions, however, the plan they had me enrolled in with BKV energy was more than I expected. I realized there is no guarantee on finding the best rates, but my biggest frustration was limited control of what plans were available. Energy Ogre is good for individuals who want to pay for a service that does it all for you. Personally it is not worth it when I can do my own research.Overall, I found a cheaper plan doing my own research, but overall experience was good, easy to cancel, and my money was refunded. I did have to contact the energy company myself to cancel but I was going to do that regardless if Energy Ogre did.

    Energy Ogre is no longer worth the monthly payments. They no longer fulfill their stated obligation of shopping the energy markets for the best deal for their clients. All they do is automatically enroll you into an existing current contract and then force you to pay a termination fee to get out of it. Their service is a scam.

We assure you that the renewal we performed was not an automated process, but a custom price plan that we negotiated with the current provider. The purpose of this short-term renewal was to place you in a better cycle for when the plan expires. The rate on this plan is a little over a cent higher than the current market average. However, Energy Ogre strategically chose this plan since the savings with a fall or winter renewal are estimated to be greater than the difference in what you will pay with a summer renewal. This strategy would allow future enrollments to occur at a time when plans have been lower historically as opposed to the current renewal cycle when prices are climbing.Typically, renewals with the same provider do not come with rescission periods to back out of the contract. In this case, as a part of the negotiation with the provider, we secured a 7-day rescission period for our members. Unfortunately, the renewal was performed on 4/2/2025. It was accompanied by a confirmation email with the details of the plan. We received contact regarding concerns about the plan on 5/4/2025, at which time we would have been unable to reverse the enrollment without incurring an Early Termination Fee. Please keep in mind this fee would have been assessed by the provider, not Energy Ogre.Please be advised Energy Ogre is not affiliated with any providers. We work solely for our members and always with your best interest in mind. This plan selection was done with the goal of substantial improvement to long-term savings with the trade off of a slightly higher short term contract.     pure garbage of a company. Do not sign up for this as you cannot cancel. you cant get ahold of anyone on line to cancel and they do not get you the best rate. Its a pure scam and should be shut down.

    They no longer work with the customer they now work for the ********************** companies. They have horrible customer service and they signed me up with a contract at a higher rate then average and a $150 early termination fee!!

    I have used EO for about 8 years now. They have been great at placing me on the best electricity contracts and getting me the lowest rates. I have never missed a contract renewal, which I years past without EO, I would forget and get a woper of a bill at the highest rates. I truly believe EO pays for itself and gives peace of mind.

    If I could give no stars this would be the time! I live in Texas and it’s hot! Thanks to Energy Ogre my electricity is set for disconnection tomorrow! I’ve never even been late on a bill before now. After a call with a rep who could care less she said there is NO ONE above her to talk to and i could possibly receive a call back! A call back when my electricity is set to be cut off tomorrow!!!! They swear it’s the company’s fault that autopay didn’t go through and that’s who I need to contact. Problem is THEY setup the autopay, however, the autopay for Energy Ogre have ALL gone through… All they do is take your info and sell it, they could care less if you have actual electricity.

    Hi Kayla,

    Thank you for providing feedback on our services. We apologize for the inconveniences you experienced, we always strive for our services to be as helpful as possible but there are times when circumstances out of our control cause issues for our members. We certainly would not want you going without power at all, let alone in the Texas heat—and making sure that you have power to your home is a major concern of ours.

    Based on the information provided and looking at your account we can see that you received a disconnection notice due to your autopay not functioning properly. When setting up your account for the first time, we provide the information for your autopay method and it is then up to the providers processing system to attach that to your account and start taking the payments. For some providers this can take up to 2 billing cycles to process so there are times in which even when you have autopay as your preference and it has been put in place that it does not actually take payment.

    Once we have given the information to your provider we then will check back on it to make sure its correctly charging, and in order to do this we require the login information for the provider account. Unfortunately, your provider has been having issues with getting us the details to have an account set up for us to be able to check on your information. This caused a delay in being able to verify your auto-payment status. We do apologize about that delay, but unfortunately we have no control over their processing times and have to work to their pace.

    On the call that you had with one of our agents, we did offer to help make the payment while you were on the line so we could confirm that you were no longer at risk of disconnection but it was decided not to do so as you wanted to have the issue brought to a supervisor. We understand the frustration of not being able to speak to someone directly and needing to wait on a call back, we are a smaller company and so there are times in which our supervisors may already be assisting on another account or in a meeting but we make sure that all requests for a supervisor are reviewed and responded to as soon as the supervisor is able.

    I see that one of our supervisors did reach out via phone call to leave you a voice message, and she followed this up with an email for you. If you still need assistance with your account, we would be more than happy to help get any issues resolved, we would just need to know the best time to contact you over the phone or we can correspond over email if you are more comfortable with that.

    after finally getting a password that worked on their dashboard, I used my Amex card to get the $120.00 yearly service, I submitted the green complete button, and nothing happened, so I registered again, pressed the green complete button, nothing happened. No confirmation that my relationship with them had started. A very unfriendly user type dashboard. And lo and behold, my Amex card was charged twice instead of once. I've emailed them, they said they would credit the $120.00 back to me, fairly soon,. still the other $120.00 charge, is still setting on my Amex pending. I've emailed them to remember there are two yearly charges, and I expect them both to be credited back. No response about the 2nd charge. They closed the account, quickly, and said "We're sorry to see you go". What's the Buzz? I didn't even have an password that worked on the page, and no confirmation that my contract had started. Pitiful, I hope it's resolved. I take my finances very serious, and never settle for silly mistakes.

    I've been with Energy Ogre since 2017. I've been very pleased. I was aware of issues and higher prices with providers in 2022, as everything increased post covid. While my bills were higher in 2022, so was everything else. I also signed my sister up in 2020. She's been pleased as well. We've never had any issue reaching a representative at Energy Ogre and they have always been responsive. Occasionally, there is a provider that requires I go in and set up something outside of Energy Ogre, but it's rare and I verify the request with E.O. Because I have my credit locked, I don't use providers that require that info. I auto pay and have never been late and if that's not good enough, oh well. I know that often the longer the commitment, the better the rate, so I've been okay with 12 month plans. Based on my experience, I was surprised to see that E. O lost it's accredidation through BBB. I hope energy costs go down in 2023 and I hope to continue receiving excellent customer service from E.O. If something changes, I will leave another review.

    Energy Ogre signed me up for a 12 month contract with the highest monthly payments with a $200 early cancellation fee with a certain energy provider on top of charging me $10/month for their "services" which there are non existent since once I'm signed up with a year contract they don't have to do anything. When I originally signed up with them they explained they would find me the lowest service each month. When I called to see if there was anything that could be done to lower my energy rate they said no, and I asked about the $10 service fee and why I was getting charged if I didn't get any service from them and was told I could cancel if I wanted so I did.

    Energy Ogre knows you have options for finding an electricity provider, but the market can be misleading in regards to advertised rates. We charge a monthly service fee of $10 a month because we work for you! We do not get any incentives or “kickbacks” from the providers. We also place our members at fixed contract rates (with cancelation fees) in order to guarantee the rate. This protects our members from risky real-time market pricing.

    We are disappointed that you did not see the value in our service. While plan selection is the most front facing aspect of our service there is a lot that we work on behind the scenes for our members! We analyze the potential benefit of new rate programs as they come into the marketplace compared to your current plan. We monitor your account to ensure your provider has not tacked on any unnecessary additional charges or fees. We track your usage and send you monthly forecasts so you can monitor your consumption. And, of course, handle any issues that may occur with your provider or your account. Rates rose higher than they have in years, causing many Texans to struggle.
