      horrible place. Horrible experience. They cant start electrical service within 15 days. This place is a ****. and they are the most expensive. Its unfornate this place exists.

      Please do not do business with this company. I had been paying on auto pay with a linked ****** account. Nothing changed on my end, until I got a notice that my bill was due. I went on the website and noticed that for no discernible reason the ****** was not connecting to reliant. No big deal, I put my card info in manually and paid in full. 2 days later my account is closed and terminated. Can they turn it back on? No. Can they wave the fees for their mistake? No. I have already signed up with another provider and will have it on shortly. This company is absolute garbage.

      Reliant NEVER informed me that I still had a bill after I moved out of my apartment in December 2024! I gave the reliant representative my forwarding address when I closed the account over the phone. Six months later, I see my credit score DROPPED 100 points because they sent a bill to collections! I wasn't given a chance to pay the outstanding bill because they DID NOT inform me of it by phone, email, or postal mail! I'm trying to buy my first home! What Reliant did was very dastardly! I will stay away from using them as a provider and keep *** energy!

      They do not care about long term loyal customers. They messed up one of my properties by accidentally disconnecting it- then needed to take a week for a background check- more in depth than a mortgage company. After 15 years, I am taking 7 accounts to ****.

      I have been a Reliant customer for over 14 years. Six months ago I started analyzing all of my bills to make sure I wasnt over charged. My electric bills were so expensive for a one bedroom apartment. As I went through each bill, I noticed charges that were not legitimate. I found disconnection fees of $50 on my account that had not been disconnected. After escalating my complaints to a higher level, Reliant blocked my phone so I was unable to access the Reliant app. This company will not only penalize you by adding illegitimate fees, they will also find ways to punish you for complaining. This week I will be notifying the ************************* to report their behavior. Reliant is unprofessional and unethical in their billing practices.

      The worst company ever they are so rude they dont like to refund your deposit even if you respect the terms of the contract all they do lies the service is high with so many fee dont waste your money

      I had been using reliant for the past almost 5 years and someone else made the mistake of attempting to set up electricity but they messaged up and out the wrong apartment number (mine). Because of this, reliant contacted me and says they were aware of me attempting to cancel my account and that I was going to be charged an early cancellation fee. I contacted them immediately. They assured me I wouldnt have to worry about the fee. Long story short, my bill comes around and they pull out a whopping $539.19. No warning or nothing. The agent who closed out my ticket put a note stating he removed the early cancellation feel but he clearly didnt. Whats worse is the person I spoke to said it was my fault because I had autopay on. In addition to them s******* up massively, they stated the money would take ***** business days or up to two billing cycles for me to get my almost $400 back. I will NOT be using them ever again as soon as this contract is up and I dont have to actually pay that fee. Absolutely insane.

      Reliant PO Box 3765 Houston TX. This company might be fine if you live in a house or apartment with only 1 meter. If you have a house and an out building with a separate meter they can be difficult to deal with. I have 2 meters at my residence. I have never had a problem with TXU. I got one bill and it was correct. Reliant offered me $600 credit if i switched. I called and signed up. I got switched around and told that i would have what they call a collective account. (That is Bad News) They applied the credit to one meter and said that my balance was $0. Then they sent me a disconnect notice. After a long phone time I found out that I owed more money so we paid it and they charged us a late fee. I had the same problem when they applied the second half of the credit. Every time you call them they send you a worthless survey. The people are always polite and try to be helpful but the system is broken and they can't fix it. You can't get your bill by email. You can wait for a paper bill but if you miss it because of travel or it gets lost in the mail they want to shut off your electric. I have been calling them to get the bill amount but you can't trust them to get it right. This month we had to pay twice because the amount I got on the phone was $16.22 short. It is not a big problem if you stay on top of it but if you don't you risk having your electric shut off. If they are not a lot cheaper than anyone else i am leaving Reliant.

      About 3 or so years ago I went with Reliant Energy which advertised free nights or weekends but when I joined the rep would only match what I was paying already. I gave them a chance anyway and when it was time to renew again the rep gave me a hard time giving me the free nights or weekends. She stated that if she gives me that she will have to raise the price to make up for it. This is a farce. A new company was offering good rates and offered to pay my cancellation fee up to a certain amount. So I went with them and paid Reliant what I was given to cancel the fee and called them and said I would not be paying anymore because they refused to give me the free nights or weekends AS ADVERTISED. The rep said she refused to remove the 70$ fee remaining as they probably had a good reason not to give me the advertised rates. ????? YET They sent the $70 to collections and it is now on my credit report for years. The kicker is it looks like it was closed and reopened so it stays on my credit report. Reliant Energy has A LOT of nerve with their false advertising They need to take that off my credit report OR REIMBURSE ME FOR THE 2 YEARS I WAS WITH THEM FOR FREE NIGHTS or WEEKENDS Since this was so long ago I dont even have the account number anymore though I could probably find it if I go throught endless files. Since its been over 3 years they need to take this off my credit report. STAY AWAY FROM RELIANT ENERGY
      PS I did call them and they said they wouldve resolved it but it is no longer in their hands. They gave the account to *** but this shouldve never happened in the first place.

      If I could put zero stars i would because I was lied to by a reliant supervisor and told that my money would be put back on my card and it wasn't and then told that I would receive a check and it been over 18 days and I still haven't received my money back so I do not recommend reliant energy to anyone I really think they should be shut down and out of business
