Massive price gouging.I've been charged an okay rate for the past few months and have been looking at jumping ship, but the rate did not change. Leading me to believe they renewed with ********* this month my rate jumped from around .58, to 1.29. This is more than double the current rate, and far more than any of the competitors are charging. They appear to be abusing the system and the delay in billing cycle changes to cheat customers and I've filed a complaint with the *** and contacted a class action law firm about the matter.Companies that engage in these deceptive practices should no longer be allowed to operate in the state where they engage in them.Frontier Utilities, LLC

1 starFrontier Utilities is a terrible company. They are very deceptive with their billing methods. They use a 28 to 35 day billing cycle and frequently won't inform you in your acct what day the billing cycle ends until late into the cycle. Their customer service is based in a foreign country (Ecuador I believe) and their agents can only help you if your issue fits their word track scripts. Wnen you ask for a US based agent they give you the runaround, I guess hoping you'll get frustrated and hang up. When it came time to renew my contract they first offered me a rate about 1/2 a penny less than my current contract. When I shopped around I saw they were offering new customers a rate 2.1 cents lower than my current rate. After spending over an hour on the phone with their CS rep they refused to give me a better rate. So I left for Gexa energy at the exact same rate as Frontier's new customer rate. I have since found out Frontier and Gexa are owned by the same company. So, I guess I will be experiencing the same crappy billing issues.Review fromJustin P

I had a frustrating experience with Frontier Utilities that has left me disappointed with their customer service and billing practices. As part of their offer, I earned a $100 credit for using over 1,000 kWh during my billing cycle. However, despite meeting the requirements, I never received the credit. The issue stems from my decision to renew my contract just before it was set to expire. The contract renewal occurred during my billing cycle, and instead of honoring the credit, I was essentially penalized. The $100 credit was not applied, which felt unfair, especially considering the renewal happened only a day before the contract was supposed to end. I was caught in an odd situation where I ended up paying more than expected, despite fulfilling all the conditions for the promotion. This experience has been frustrating and leaves me questioning the transparency and fairness of Frontier Utilities' billing practices. I expected better customer service and a clearer understanding of how their promotions work. Based on my experience, I would hesitate to recommend Frontier Utilities to others looking for a reliable energy provider.Frontier Utilities, LLC

1 starThis Rep for this company sounded so sincere while giving me all the ins and out to why there services would be a great fit for me. I explain the company issues and amount and usage charges I was receiving and he claimed he was calculating at my rate with his company @9.2 per kwh and explain how I was being over charged by at least 100.00 per the last two months on my bill. Henry seemed to want to help and guide me through. I asked him to call me by in two days and he did. He ensured me no contract and a fixed rate @ 9 cent per kwh. We talked about our family values and God. I sat down to read my email and low and behold I was hit with a contract 36months and a rate 15.2 per kwh. I texted the # he called me from and and expressed my disbelief in all the deceitful information he gave me. I call the 866 number provide and the recording said thank you for the 400.00 pmt. I am so disappointed .Review fromSteve B

1 starVery deceptive prices and added charges to bill. I signed up for .14$ per kw and had to pay .1658 per kw. No help from customer service and very hard to understand. Don’t make the mistake and sign up.Review fromScott M

1 starI got the "Free" Night EV plan. Reading the EFL, it says 500kWh($0.114), 1000kWh($0.145), 2000kWh($0.161) but I was actually charged... drumroll.... $0.185 per kWh for using only 876kWh! To get to those hard to reach low per kWh prices, I had to charge my EV 300kWh+ within the 2 weeks time I had gotten the bill. I drive a lot and my job is 20 miles away plus go out on weekends but I was only able to get about 176kWh night EV charging. This company is a scam and they are doing fraud in my opinion. The ETL was not clear and I had to talk to someone from FU after getting my bill to understand the label. You have to pay $0.131kWh, you get EV credit for the night-time charging, then you have to pay all of the TDU, taxes, fees, on top of the $0.131kWh which makes it NOT a good value AT ALL! Stay far away from this Company. I think they also own Gexa since they have the same EFL and offer.Review fromChristine P

1 starI spoke to agent early April 2024 and requested my energy service to be cancelled May 28,2024. I have been out of that property since January and I keep paying my energy because I know what I signed up for because my lease at the apartment expires May 31st 2024. But to my surprise I still keep getting bill for June to July.. someone must have been moved in that apartment and agent fail to notify to cancel my service. On frontier utilities record my service requested to be cancelled July 2nd. So how am I liable for this usage and plus cancellation fee of 200 for not finishing my contract with frontier. I’m going to file lawsuit if they fail to fix this. I have proof of my lease and message from my agent about cancelling my service.Review fromCamaron H

1 starFrontier Utilities Deceptive Sales Tactics Signed up from Frontier Utilities, LLC for their Frontier Simple Saver 12 at 14.4 cents for 500 kWh, 19.0 cents for 1000 kWh and 21.3 cents for 2000 kWh. I was truly surprised after opening my first bill with a usage of 327 kWh at a rate that should have been 14.4 cents per kWh for an energy charge of $47.09 instead the energy charge was $63.83 at a rate of 19.52 cents for 327 kWh for a total bill of $83.97 with the average price paid for electric service was 24.9 cents per kWh. The Deception lies within the Usage Credit that if you use 500 kWh or more (>=500) you receive a $50.00 billing credit towards your total bill. There actually is no way to get to 14.4 cents per kWh. This is the very definition of a Deceptive Sales Tactic and they should be ashamed.Review fromC.T. L

1 starDon't waste your time. First it's impossible to switch to them without calling, then going through 20 minutes of sales pitches for everything under the sun, PV panels, smart thermostat, etc. Then they scam you with requiring a $275 deposit after supposedly running a credit check. My wife and I have 800+ credit scores and perfect payment history. After an hour on the phone, then another 45 minutes texting with someone from India on their chat links, they insisted it would take up to 3 days for someone to reach out to do a manual credit check....what did they use my social for the first time I called to transfer? Total joke of a company, definitely will not be going with them...ever!
