On April 18, 2025, I took my son to the dentist at Lovett Dental as they are in network. At the time of service everything went great and as I left, I was told nothing was owed. A month later I receive a bill in the mail for $10.00. I called to ask where this charge came from, they stated that this is a charge to everyone. I ask them to provide paperwork where I agreed to pay this as they stated their system is down and don't know where the paperwork is. I am disputing the fact that they are charging a hidden fee that was not disclosed at the time of treatment or I could have paid before I left the office. They did not bill it to my insurance and sent a bill only to myself for an item that I was unaware of and undisclosed to me.

I had a permanent bridge in upper left of my mouth put in by Dr. ******* approximately one year ago now for which I recall paying about $1,700.00. I have a DHMO (dental plan) from Guardian Managed Dental Guard TX; this means facility has a contract with Guardian to charge according to Guardian's fee structure. They indicated they accepted this ****. After the dental work was completed, I checked my receipt next to the Guardian fee structure and saw I had been overcharged approximately $50. I spoke with ****** in front office and provided her with a copy of Guardian's pricelist. She indicated I had a choice between a refund and a credit on my account; I requested the refund, which I never received. I phoned her several times but never got to talk to her - it seemed she was avoiding my calls, she definitely never returned them - I sent an email with a second copy of Guardian's fee structure attached, and I sent a letter through the **** with a copy to the dentist under separate cover. I never heard from anyone from ***************. I went to their office about 2 months ago and spoke to **** ***** in the front office. She asked me to be seated while she reviewed my file. Finally, she informed me I was due a $43 refund. She indicated the refund would have to be issued from another office and it would take something like 4-6 weeks for it to get to me in the US mail. To date, I have received no refund and have heard nothing from ***************. I have difficulty understanding how someone could run a business as they do. Is $43 really worth losing a patient who always pays in full at time of service? Due to this company not taking care of the refund I was due, and staff not cooperating with my many attempts to communicate about this issue, I have decided to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I would like the $43 refund. But even if I never get it, I believe others should know of how inappropriately this dental office handles its business.

This complaint is regarding dental work done on 10/19/24 and 11/16/2-24. Identical work on crowns on two different teeth. The procedures were covered by my Memorial ******* Advantage plan, via Liberty Dental. In both cases, I was charged a $341 co-pay. The Explanation of Payment indicates the co-pay should have only been $238. Both *************************************************** indicated that I had to resolve the dispute with the Lovett Dental office. I have contacted them several times over the last three months. On March 11, the Lovett Dental on ******* Rd. indicated that they had turned in the request for a refund of $206 to the corporate Lovett office. (341 - 241 = 103 times 2 = 206). Since then, I have contacted the ******* Rd office, speaking with ****** the office manager. I have requested that phone number twice for the corporate office only to be told that they would just refer me back to the ******************* office.I was only able to upload one set of the documents due to the 5mg limit. They are identical for the two different procedures.

I went to Lovett Dental in the fall of 2023. I received a quote for all the work they needed to do, and we paid it in a lump sum with the idea that I would go in for different appointments until it was complete. By fall 2024 they still hadnt completed all of the work. At one point I had to come in 3 different times because they kept incorrectly measuring a crown. Because of how much time it was taking I asked to just be refunded for whatever treatment they hadnt done. The total was around $400. At this point, it has been 6 months and they still have not refunded me. They are impossible to get ahold of and never return messages I leave. Supposedly, corporate is the only one who can issue a refund and they are never available to talk to me or to their Lovett employee I am on a call with. At this point I have paid 6 months interest on money they havent refunded me because it was a credit card. The lady I have talked to the most about this situation is ****.

I was OVER charged a line of credit from (*****) Lovett Dental ph:************ through Sunbit ph:************. I was supposed to be initially charged $3,029 per my dental insurance company (*****). Lovett had me signing off on lines of credit while I was UNDER anesthesia on two different occasions (pull surveillance March 11th &13th) which, is against the *** and they also DOUBLE charged me because they knew I was INCOHERENT. I have reached out to Lovett Dental several times (dates March 19th three times), March 24th, March 25th, April 1st, April 2nd two times, April 4th, and April 7th pertaining to this situation and I have also contacted ****** on April 8th, 2025. (I have documentation from Lovett and my dental insurance company) Not only did Lovett Dental over charge my a line of credit but, they also billed my insurance company (Cigna) on March 11th, 2025 for services that were NOT rendered which is insurance FRAUD and the office has altered my statement of services rendered balance due to show $1,835.00 but, charged me a line of credit with Sunbit $6,916.00 and billed my insurance company (*****) $10,500.00. And I have also, missed three full days of work and nine have days of work. I have reported Lovett Dental to Texas Department of Insurance- Fraud Unit on April 5th, 2025. I also ask that you assist me in retrieving/refund my $3,887 from Sunbit. Lovett Dental- *******, ** location:******************************************************* 9/24/24: I had 2 composite fillings replaced. Lovett submitted $850.00 claim to BCBS Federal Employee, code 219- it was denied $850 (this is my health insurance)09/26/24 Lovett submitted $850 claim to MetLife (dental insurance), MetLife processed it on 09/27/24. ******* reports the total allowed amount (negotiated fee) is $253, they (MetLife) paid $177.10 and reports the total patient responsibility $75.90 for 2 surface composites. I had already paid Lovett $113.84 on 09/24/24.10/04/24 I had 4 composite fillings replaced. I paid $155.36 to Lovett on 10/04/24. Lovett submitted $1532.00 to BCBS, code 219 and it was denied. I have called MetLife and they have no record that the 10/04/24 claim was ever submitted to *******. I continue to get bills from Lovett Dental. I have emailed and repeatedly called the ******* location to ask about the 10/04 claim being submitted to MetLife. The one email I received back stated I had 3 EOBs of denial and that's why they are sending me bills. (The only EOBS of denial I see are 2 of them from my health insurance BCBS- this is not my dental insurance.) When you call the ******* office, they continue to say the 10/04 claim is tied up in "corporate billing". When you call the number that the ******* location has given for "corporate billing", they either never answer, you leave a voicemail and they never call back or the person hangs up on you when you say you are calling about a billing issue.I am seeking to understand why they have not submitted the 10/04/24 claim to MetLife and why I continue to get bills when all claims have not been submitted to my dental insurance.

I have been receiving bills from this practice since May, however it went to my junk folder so I thought it was spam. I finally called and spoke to Maya at their corporate office on 9.19.24 and she assured me I had a zero balance. I kept getting bills. I have called Lovett Dental multiple times and they do not call back. The bill is a mistake on their part to begin with. I also emailed and was told they were forwarding my request to the local office. There was no follow up. I am not chasing them down to pay a bill I don't owe, per their own employee.

I have taken my toddler son to this dentist a few times. Every time I pay a copay in person, I go through insurance, and then the business sends me a bill saying that I owe $1 + $25 late fee. When I called the first two times, they straightened it out and acted apologetic. This time, they were adamant that I owe the extra $26. Once or twice and this might be a glitch in the system, but now I am pretty convinced they are trying to scam people for extra money. I stuck with them before because I thought their pediatric dentist was great. Now it is a new dentist and I will not be hassled for money any longer. These are shady business practices.
