On January 11, 2024 we went to Gillman Chevrolet Harlingen to buy a 2024 Suburban. They didn’t have the color that we like (beige). They. Offered to bring one from a dealership in Seguin, Texas. They asked for $ 500.00 down to bring the vehicle to Their dealership in order for us to buy it. On January 12, 2024 in the morning we received a call from the salesperson (Yasmin) informing us that they had some issues at the dealership in Seguin (someone getting fired). Latter in afternoon, she call me again to inform us that the vehicles was not longer available but they had a vehicle available in color (grey). I told them that we were not interested in the color. Bottom line we paid to get a specific vehicle, they couldn’t provide it as they promised that fine just refund our money. This seems like they use deceptive practices to sell cars. Since the vehicle was not even in Seguin like they told me.Business Response

I purchased a used Honda CRV 2012 model in June first week from Gillman Chevrolet in Harlingen. They
explained to me that the car was in good condition. I drove for 2 months and from the 3 rd month onwards I
started seeing engine light on the meter. I went to get a maintenance checkup and the service guy at
******* told me that the Engine was making some weird noise which was a bit concerning. I called the
salesman and he mentioned that if you can drive just drive until it stops working. But even after that
phone call, I visited Gillman Chevrolet in Harlingen and he said the same thing. Then after a couple of
weeks, as the car was behaving lazy and it was not moving on pressing the gas, I went back to Gillman
Chevrolet in Harlingen, and they told me to go to Gillman Honda *** ****** as they are specialized in
Honda cars. Then the real game began, they told me that there are a lot of chronic problems I have
(paperwork given by Gillman Honda *** ******) which should have been addressed before they sell the car to
me. Then they also said the starter might be creating problems as the starter was not a Honda starter. I
fixed 2 emergency repairs of many other chronic problems and spent ~$360. Then I went back to
Gillman Chevrolet in Harlingen asked what we can do about all these chronic problems and the sales
manager was showing the problems to me and said the Gillman Honda was overselling me, but it was
not true. I can see the problems and he was lying straight on my face assuming I know nothing about
cars, in fact, I made a mistake saying that I am driving for the first time and got a car for the first time. He
then made a deal for 1 of many problems saying he will do half price i.e axle leak. Then on 11/08/2022
the salesman told me to come over and he will exchange the car for no cost. When I went there, they
began tricking me by giving me a trade-in price for my car i.e $7500 for the original cost of ~$16,000
including ttl which was purchased in June's first week. They started showing me a car worth of $18, 000
which is $3000 more expensive than the one which I purchased. They said that I will be losing just~
$2500, but that is not true. Both the salesmen and the manager know that, but they had a plan. I kept
on telling them I cannot afford a single dollar more than what I already spent on my car. Just for a quick
summary, I paid $5000 down payment, 1050 or payments so far that equals to ~$6000 and I have~
$10,100 left to pay off my vehicle. Now after making a calculation and everything they gave me a bill for
the new car that was worth $18000 as ~$22,000. Now they have had the plan they are trying to
convince us that we are losing only ~$2500 but in reality, we were losing much more than that according
to the above summary I have given here. My request to Gillman Honda is to exchange my car for
another similar car with no extra money as I received a car with many chronic problems which I cannot
afford to get them fixed. They showed me a ~$18,600 worth car, I am paying ~16000 for my car, and I can pay
the difference (~2600) and exchange the car. This is what the salesman told me on 11/8/2022 and he
and his manager tried to manipulate us.Business Response

This
customer purchased a used 2012 Honda back in June 2022. He purchased the vehicle as is with no
warranty.
Three
months later customer claims he is having problems with the vehicle.
Our
service manager has previously addressed the concerns with customer.
We
have offered to repair the vehicle, but the customer wanted to trade in and we
could not meet the customer expectations
As
a goodwill gesture, Gillman is willing to assist the customer by repairing
his vehicle.
The
parts that we have agreed to repair are; back rear strut, left front axle seal,
crank and PCM sensors.
Thanks,
David

Gillman Chevrolet Harlingen scammed my elderly parents out of a 2019 Chevy Equinox that they recently purchased. The car was only driven 400 miles when it began to misfire, so they brought the car back to the dealership. That was 3 weeks ago and the dealership has no ETA on when the car will be fixed. My parents do not have transportation to get to and from their doctor's appointments and are now stuck with a car payment but no car.Business Response

on July 30th 2022 with 39,717 miles
On September 19th customers came to our service department stating that vehicle was shaking when
turned on plus the check engine light was on. Car at this time showed
40,499 which is 782 more than at time of purchase.
On Sept 22nd,
2022 our service department took in vehicle for diagnostic and found a misfire
on cylinder #3. Technician then swapped injector and coil to see if misfire
would resolve but misfire on cylinder #3 continued so the next step was a
compression test to check piston PSI and found oil on cylinder #3. At this time
engine tear down was required so customer was notified to get approval for the
engine tear down. Our service
advisor attempted several times to communicate this information to Mr./Mrs.
****** but due to scheduled doctors and hospital appointments we did not
receive office approval until Sept. 23rd 2022
On Sept 26th 2022 technician began teardown on engine and once completed it was determine a
new engine was needed due cylinder #3 wall scored. This was non repairable and
required engine replacement.
On Sept. 29th 2022 service advisor notified Mr./Mrs. ****** that a new engine was going to be
required. The next step was to submit this claim to ******* ****** for approval
of new engine.
On Oct 3rd,2022
Mr. ****** came and visited with our service manager, John T**** to get an
update on his vehicle. Our service manager told customer that we were still
pending approval from ******* ****** for the new engine and once we would get
the approval we would notify customer. Mr. ****** was happy to know of
the progress but also inquired about a loaner. Mr. T**** explained that he
would do his best to find a loaner for him. Mr. T**** told Mr. ****** that as
soon as he would find a loaner that he would notify him. Mr. ******
understood the shortage of vehicles and would be waiting for Mr. T**** to call
him.
As of today,
Oct 6th2022 we have not been able to secure a loaner however the new
engine has arrived and is being worked for installation.
Our goal is to
complete the repairs by end of this week.David *****
