      My partner ****** scheduled a move with Hawk Movers, and they assisted us on July 27, 2024. Among the items they transported was our ******* refrigerator, which I had wrapped in cling film prior to their arrival. Upon arrival, the movers loaded it into their van and covered it with their blankets. However, when they reached the destination, they were unable to fit the refrigerator through the building's door. I instructed them to take the refrigerator to the freight elevator on the other side of the building and requested they reload it into the van and drive it around, but they refused. Instead, they opted to move the refrigerator using a dolly without securing or covering it properly. During the process, the refrigerator fell off the dolly, landing face down, which resulted in scratches, dents, the screen popping out, and the door handles being crushed to the point where fingers could not fit through them. Once I finally got the refrigerator inside and plugged it in, it was no longer working. I submitted a claim for reimbursement, but they have only offered me $300. Although I did not purchase additional insurance for the move, the confirmation email from the movers suggested that most customers do not find insurance cost-effective, implying that my property would be safe without it. I originally paid $2,879.99 plus tax for this refrigerator nearly four years ago. Considering depreciation over the years and the fact that the refrigerator is now unusable, I am seeking a more reasonable compensation amount of $1,000.

        My apologies **** unfortunately we will not be able to increase the settlement offer. In that effort to communicate, we send two emails to every move we schedule. Both of which state our policy regarding damages. The bullet points are at the top of the email. We place them there in an effort to make them seen. This information is also stated on the contract. This is accessible to you from the time your move is booked. One of our goals is to be as open and transparent as possible, before, during, and after your move. Many movers would have simply denied the claim. Our settlement offer was more than required by the **** which is our governing body.




      Hawk Movers does not provide full coverage moving insurance for your upcoming move.  We are governed by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.  As a Household Goods Carrier we are liable for up to .60 per pound, per article.  (This is the case with all movers)

      If you wish to purchase additional insurance there is a link to a third party vendor on our website.  The majority of our customers do not find this to be cost effective, but we offer it as an option.  *********************************** Hawk Team works very hard to maintain a 96% claim free status.  We achieve this with an ongoing training program, as well as, providing all the needed equipment to get you moved safely.
