Transaction date: 12/4/21, total amount $2,386.43, inv#*******. For the first time, I went to the Rio's Interiors Anniversary Winter Sale. I was undecided on purchasing a bed that they had as a Doorbuster special. I asked my sales rep until what time I had to make a decision. She said all day, but the additional 10 % early bird discount would only be available if purchased before 11:00am. I was still hesitant, because the bed had light leather on the bed panels and I prefer the darker colors. I have a toddler who is an artist, so darker furniture is better in our home. Since they had two additional unfinished beds, I asked if one could be finished in the dark leather for me to purchase. This was approved by ************, so I ordered the bed. It would be ready for pickup in about two weeks. I would receive a call. The next day, I received a call from the sales associate that processed my transaction. She admitted that she had made a mistake. She shouldn't have given me the 10% discount on the doorbuster item. I either needed to pay the 10% or take the bed with the White leather. We are human, so I appreciate her admitting her mistake; however, why should a customer pay the price for an associate that made a mistake. The sales rep made an error and gave me the 10% Early Bird Special that wasn't applicable on Doorbusters. She mentioned it and applied it. I had my heart set on this bed, that now I can't receive it the way that I purchased it, if I don't pay additional money. I tried to talk to the manager, ******, but her last response was that ************ didn't approve the 10%. Apparently this was on a piece of paper, that I didn't read close. If not even an employee knows, how do they expect the customer to know. I asked to talk to ************, but he is unavailable until January. This is not good business practice. The company should have done the right thing and let me pick up the bed with the dark leather, that I paid for.
