April 2021 we purchased solar panels and a Generac generator from Simple Solar, representative Gene M*****, who was a co-owner and sales representative. The other co-owner was Jory P**. We received the panels but to this date have not received the generator. I have been communicating with Jory by text but never by phone. Soon after signing papers Gene was no longer av**lable, I thought due to health. We received a proposal showing amount of loan as being $23,104, which is what Gene told us the cost would be when he presented the plan to us. I have lately learned the persons name as the author of the proposal was not generated by him and is a fraud. I contacted ******* Financial in an effort to get help in getting the generator and learned the following: The generator was not mentioned in the contract, therefore they could not help us. The loan amount was $29,692., a difference of $6588. more than we agreed to. Also they did not require a proposal but a Instillation Contract . Gene M***** had told us he would give us a Generac generator if we decided to purchase the solar. I told him we knew he could not "give" us a generator and he s**d "I can do anything I want to, I am a distributor for Generac, they cost over $6,000." We signed the contract because we thought the difference was the cost of the generator. Soon after signing the contract Gene became unav**lable, this was January 2022. He had a health problem that we tried to be considerate of but soon his phone was no longer a working number and we started texting Jory P** for answers. At first he would answer my questions via text only, never by phone. First he couldn't get the generator because of the pandemic, then he couldn't find anyone to install it. Finally he had his installer back and was scheduling it but the installer had a car wreck and was l**d up. I had texted Jory on April 4th to see where we stood on the installation and told him I had the next 2 weeks free, but no response. I then texted him asking him to please communicate with me on April 5th or I was going to have to take other steps. He took that as a threat and didn't respond. April 20th I texted him and begged him to communicate with me, that is when he told me his installer had had the wreck. Jory told me my alternative was he would try to get me a different brand generator or he would pay me for the Generac. I asked him how much and he s**d $2k - $5k. I reminded him the one promised was $6,588. I have not heard from him since. Now all phones are no longer working and this is the second time this has happened but two of his former employees s**d the company had closed and the partner Gene M***** is no longer with him and nobody knows where he is. However I have located him at another solar brokerage firm but have not contacted him yet. I am trying to find an attorney. I am 81 years old and cannot afford this kind of loss.
