I bought this insurance through the dentist I was seeing at the time. I do not remember when this was. Yesterday I discovered, by accident, I have been charged for renewal each year in July for at least 7 years, the number of credit card statements I can access. Never in all these years did I receive an email reminder stating my policy would renew on this particular date. When I tried to cancel it, the *** couldn't even find my current address in the system. I moved here in 2016 and do not have any documents citing my previous address. Nor could I find any papers with a policy number. *** advised me to go to the website, email the address listed and put in writing that I wanted the policy cancelled. My first email was returned due to an inaccurate address. My second email was returned as undeliverable, even though I know that had the correct address listed on the website. There has been no activity on this policy for 7+ years, and no reminder the policy was renewing, which I find unconscionable and fraudulent. Ignorant **** who cannot help and no way to even contact the company is beyond just annoying, it is unethical. I want the policy cancelled. I will NEVER do business with this group again or recommend their product to anyone. Thank you for looking into this matter. ***** E. ******Business Response

On 4/10 I checked my bank account as I do daily and found that I had been charged $129 for a recurring payment that 1. I never consented to and 2. Ive never heard of this company nor have I purchased any of their services through them directly or any third party. This company is committing fraud. They've been charging my credit card for $209.00 every year since 2016 without my knowledge or consent. I've tried multiple times to get anyone on the phone who will stop these payments to no avail. I've submitted these charges to the fraud department with my credit card and will be hiring an attorney. I am rejecting this response because: While part of their response is true, part of it is factually incorrect. My wife did receive emails from Dental1 (not the same name of the company she signed up with which is deceptive), she did not open all of them. We were also promised a partial reimbursement which has not materialized. Furthermore, while we're in this dispute, even after cancelling said service, Dental1 (Careington) tried to run our credit card again (see attached). Thankfully we had already canceled the credit card and had a new number reissued. This type of deceptive marketing practices, and false promises are why we're here in the first place. I reject their response because it is only partially true, which is another way of saying it is a partial lie.Business Response

Re: Case #********

Dear Mr. ***************** you for your continued correspondence. While we regret that you remain dissatisfied with the resolution provided, I want to take this opportunity to clarify the steps we've taken and reiterate the findings of our review. As previously mentioned, our records confirm that your wifewho initially enrolled in the plandid open all but the first of the renewal emails. These messages, sent well in advance of each renewal, clearly outlined the upcoming charges and provided ample time and instructions on how to cancel if desired.
Additionally, a partial reimbursement was issued in response to the confusion experienced while seeking clarification on the charges. This check was cashed and cleared our account on April 4, 2025.
Regarding the most recent renewal attempt, as explained in my email dated March 11, 2025, the plan did not renew due to the payment made on March 5 being rejected with the note "account closed." While we were awaiting confirmation on whether your wife wished to continue with the plan, we offered the option to cancel it effective February 28, 2025. However, confirmation to proceed with that cancellation was not received. Subsequently, the bank resubmitted the draft, which again failed for the same reason, leading to an automatic message from the group regarding plan conservation.
Its important to note that at the time of enrollment and within the membership kit, it is clearly disclosed that members authorize Careington to bill the designated account for renewals.
We certainly understand this situation has been frustrating, and we hope this provides additional clarity regarding the events and our handling of the matter. We appreciate your communication and the opportunity to resolve this matter. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at ************************************* or at *********************.

I am rejecting this response because:
Once again, the reason the last payment did not go through is because I canceled that credit card. We did in fact request that the service be canceled when we first spoke. However, as your last message indicates, that communication was apparently never received. Not to mention the initial blaming of Christian Medi-Share for the debacle.Secondly, you have yet to adequately explain why your company engages in such surreptitious billing. Why have a different name on the charge than the name with which the agreement was originally (if not in a furtive manner) made? She made a one-time commitment to Dental 1 and we get a charge on our credit statement under "Careington International." Whereas "Dental1" is fairly self explanatory, "Careington International" rings of a charitable contribution. Whether that is intentional or not, it is underhanded at best.
We never once used the service after the initial purchase, therefore your partial reimbursement is a minimalist approach to correct the deceitful billing and marketing practices with which your company does business.
Regards,
*******

1/15/25: received notification from Amex that Careington Dental had charged $140.76 to my card at 2:31 am. Please cancel this complaint. I've figured out what happened. The company charged me for annual renewal of VSP eye insurance, but the company on the charge was Careington. I found out Careington handles their billing. I do not have a dispute or complaint about this company - other than it would be helpful if the charge actually indicated what it was for and not the billing company.Initial Complaint

Mrs. Chantovia Jackson
Dear Dispute Resolution Department,
We received email correspondence
from the Better Business Bureauregarding a requestfor assistance filed by Mrs. Chantovia Jackson. Core V Solutions, Inc. dba Careington Benefit Solutions
(Careington) is a licensed Third-Party Administrator and processes claims for
multiple carriers. Mrs. Jackson’s plan
was purchased from Continental Life Insurance Company,
an Aetna Company (Continental Life) in June of 2023.
After a thorough review of Mrs. Jackson’s records,
we found that several claims were submitted, processed and paid under her plan.
These claims indicate that her plan was actively utilized during this time. In
addition, the only communication we received from the member prior to the
request to cancel on August 5, 2024, was a call on December 8, 2023 requesting
verification of her address and to have new ID cards sent.
We reached out to the carrier, and they have
informed us that since the plan remained active throughout this period, and
claims were filed and paid to the member during this time, they are unable to
provide a refund of the premiums. Should the member have any additional
questions or concerns regarding this policy, please contact Continental Life by
phone at #800-264-4000, or in writing at PO Box 14770 Lexington, KY 40512-4770.
Thank you for
bringing this matter to our attention. We take every customer concern seriously

I have been charged $29.95 for over a year ( *** stated since 7/1/2021) for a discounted Dental and Vision account. Before calling the company I tried accessing account via website using forgot username, however no account exists using my emails. I have never received any postal mail, emails, or calls from this company. I do not have any information with an account/member. I stayed on the phone 30 minutes being switched to 3 different representatives, explaining my issues each time. The only thing the 1st and last representative stated that they only can cancel. Each time I requested a supervisor I was put on hold and put back in the *****. The only way I discovered that I was being automatically charged is because, my credit card declined a transaction. This is a card that does not have much activity so that seemed odd. I research the charge of $29.95 for 12 months, and thats when I attempted to access their website. This is just ridiculous for a company to continue to charge someone, and they do not see any activity/usage on their end from providers. I would like my funds refunded without any future charges.Business Response
