Between December 2024 and June 2025, I was charged around $2,100 for personal training sessions at Fitness 19, processed through ABC Fitness Solutions. However, I was medically unable to use these services after being diagnosed with a herniated disc and spinal scoliosis in late November 2024.I informed the trainer I was unwell around November 27 and the trainer suggested I freeze my account. I signed a freeze form on or around December 4, but was still charged for December and January. I was told theres a one-month policy before freezes take effect, which was never clearly explained. I never booked or attended any sessions during this ********* a non-native English speaker, I wasnt informed of my right under California Civil Code ******* to cancel due to medical conditions. Staff didnt explain the terms when I signed the freeze form and couldnt provide any contact info for complaints.I am requesting a full refund for all charges from December 2024 through June 2025, during which I received no services. Aside from the murky contract language that entraps you into a recurring subscription with no escape, it can be extremely frustrating and uncomfortable for a consumer to share their private information, especially when it is more likely to be compromised as the years go on and technological advancements increase. I brought a situation to the attention of this agency on four separate occasions, but received zero displays of concern for the following. I received an unnerving phone call from a scamming agency, masking themselves as ABC Fitness, the company which owns the contracts at my local gym, Edge Fitness. The individuals calling were in possession of my name, phone number, address, and were requesting my bank and tax information, stating that my account was overdue. Upon making an outbound call to the genuine ABC Fitness support line via ******, a representative stated my account was current and there were no overdue payments or issues, and stated that the call was not made from a true ABC Fitness **** I am uncomfortable continuing to make payments towards a subscription attached to a company that so blatantly shares and/or sells my information, as I am sure the general public would agree. The contract states the membership may be cancelled once an email is received requesting the same. I sent over four e-mails, which were met with replies ridden with grammatical errors, every one stating I may not cancel early. The reason? Unknown. I have paid off my remaining balance over the phone to close out my contract, as they would not allow me to cancel early, despite this situation. Even still, there is a remaining balance showing on my app, which shows as a regular monthly payment. I sent over five e-mails and called three times to resolve this issue to no avail. I am disappointed in the customer service and overall services that this company has provided, and simply wish to forewarn others in an effort to avoid an inescapable financial burden.Business Response

Like many have said before me here at the Better Business Bureau, "ABC Fitness Solutions, LLC" and their partners are predatory and un-American at best, and in all honestly more like a totally fraudulent scam. Working closely in cahoots with 3rd parties like Gold's Gym, they conspire to make it EXTREMELY difficult for paying customers to cancel their accounts and then continue to bill hard-working Americans, even having the nerve to add "late fees" and even when the card on file has been closed out with the bank. Their customer service is inaccessible, and passes you off between ostensibly separate business that nonetheless clearly have intimate contact with each other. The barrier to account cancelation is rendered practically impossible for all intents and purposes. Their phone numbers are automated and only allow you to make a payment or view information on your account, but you are never able to reach an actual person to cancel your account. I emailed them saying i would like to cancel my account but have received no response. I have tried countless times to get through to a person on their multiple phone numbers and even appeared in person at the partner location only to be turned away because the account could not be closed by anyone present at that time. This company needs to be investigated. Their online portal doesn't work so I can't pay my bill and their automated phone line keeps telling me it's unable to process my information and hangs up. I had a membership with Anytime Fitness in ****************** and found myself never really using this facility as I had another gym I was/am apart of. I reached out to Anytime Fitness numerous times to cancel and obtain a copy of my membership agreement (as I never received this upon signing). After multiple attempts, I finally received my contract with a signature which does not resemble my own.Regardless, I proceeded to follow the instructions as described in the emails I received by them. After numerous attempts to cancel, I finally received an email stating I fulfilled my cancelation request via email and that I needed to pay a cancelation fee along with the remaining balance I owed ($586.87). I called the number provided which was an animated exchange and provided my credit card information. By the end of this transaction, the automation stated my current balance was $0. At this time I assumed my debt was cleared, and I did not receive any further communication from Anytime Fitness, further assuring me my account was successfully canceled. I recently received a notification from *********** that my account was sent to collections, which was a surprise to me as I never received notification this was occurring since providing my credit card information. I have attempted numerous times to resolve this as amicably as possible with ABC Fitness Solutions yet they keep increasing the balance on my account. I am confused and running out of ideas on how to resolve this problem as professionally and humanely as possible. I have provided documentation on our conversations and the email stating my account was canceled. I have the day I called them to pay my cancelation fee and provided my credit card number, but looking back at my account, it does not look like it was ever charged. I am rejecting this response because:
I have provided documentations for multiple attempts to cancel at which time ABC fitness would not accept my cancellation, even after providing my credit card information. I then cancelled payments when they failed to stop charging my account.
I am appalled that businesses can get away with taking advantage of people like this. And when reviewing if this has happened with Anytime/ABC fitness is the past, it appears this is a very common occurrence.

I attempted to resolve an issue with Glofox (ABC Fitness) and since the issue could not be resolved, I attempted to end service. *********** has:1) Refused to acknowledge their delay in responding to my repeated requests to resolve the issue.2) Because of their delay, my cancellation window closed and they are charging our small business 3 additional months of service. In an attempt to work with them to lower the cancellation to one month penalty, they simply said it was my fault (for their tardiness) Since working through the glofox platform to retain our data, I noticed: 3) Glofox had been withholding customer payments for 2 months (allegedly they transitioned to Stripe and never validated that we were getting paid)4) They raised our prices on the last month without disclosing it.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I made repeated requests prior to the 30 day cancellation window. I first tried calling about my service in December.
The cancellation window started on January 6th
January 10th: The first time Glofox finally responded to me via email (clear delay tactic)
No response for days
January 13th: Follow up because we received no response
January 16th: Notified the success manager 'was out this week' (clear delay tactic)
January 21st: Follow up because we received no response
Communication with ***** during this time (who was not the 'success' manager and couldn't take action on our account
January 31st: ******** (our success manager?) stepped in and made clear they were non-flexible on cancellation.
Last note: The company has a monthly and quarterly billing cycle (there is no price savings for a quarterly vs. monthly subscription). I offered to pay an additional month as a compromise, given their clear attempt to delay cancellation. They refused.

I have been in email and phone communications with *** trufit for several months now. I tried to cancel my membership at TRUFIT McCrelless in **, **, in July of 2024. There is no way to cancel online or over the phone, so I went in person. I received a torn piece of paper with a member # I have never seen and was told I would need to pay another month of membership. I tried to dispute this because the company itself stalled on letting me cancel my membership for months already. I emailed *** trufit, have tried to call them back, I finally received a copy of my agreement and did send a check to pay the remaining balance on my account after disputing it to no end. The company is still calling, emailing, harassing me, and have sent my account to collections which has now negatively affected my credit score even though I tried everything, including mailing a check to *** to settle the balance. When I called ***** ****** with ABC Fitness Solutions (who is harassing me) there was no answer after being on hold for nearly 15 minutes and no other recourse for me. The automated account response stated I DID NOT HAVE A BALANCE/NO BALANCE DUE. I want to know WHY MY ACCOUNT WAS SENT TO COLLECTIONS & WHO THE COLLECTIONS AGENCY IS so I can contact them and get proof of debt. This is absolutely criminal. ABC fitness is charging people who cancel their accounts and hurting their credit by selling their "balances" to collections agencies and customers have no way of talking to a representative? Absolutely against the law. I want a refund for every ***** I ever wasted on this membership. By the way, I stopped attending the TRUFIT gym because the machinery was in disrepair constantly and was entirely unsafe to use. I deserve a refund. I never received the quality of service I was promised upon beginning this membership in the first place and paid that membership for over a year just trying to find out how to cancel. We received her written notice on November 4, 2024, and her account was placed in pending cancellation status with $82.27 remaining due. This amount represents her November dues and the annual fee. Once this amount is paid, her account will be cancelled. If she has sufficient proof that her written cancellation request was previously received by ***, please have her submit it so that we may backdate her cancellation.

I am a college student who on June 27th 2024 cancelled my membership at the local ********************* since I do not go to school locally and will be away plus moving postcollege for my internship. Crunch was told and requested to cancel, I even said there is no crunch near my college, so Ican not request a freeze or any other resolution but to cancel. My account was in great standing. Crunch told me that is not a problem, but you need to call ABS as they are the billing company and handle cancellations. I called *** on June 27th 2024 and made the request. *** says to me that you need to let them know locally as we just take payments, once they let us know we can cancel for you. SO back to ****** and explained that *** says this is the franchise that needs to process. ****** says that is not the policy sense BS. I call *** over and over and over, speak to people, leave messages. I am now also getting billed my annual fee and monthly fees. This has been going on 6months. My credit card company says to dispute it all or go to small claims. On Dec 12th, 2024, I call Crunch and speak to ***** who has tried to help me for a few months. He knows the situation, has notes in the computer that we spoke before, and also wanted to cancel and really is sympathetic. He asks me to call *** 1 more time and call him back at the end of the week, ***** is going to speak to his GM . BC was called 15th time in a 6-month time frame that evening 12/12/24 at 7pm and left a message. I called ***** back and confirmed that we will speak by end of week and also the *** number I called is the right 1. On 12/13/24 I called *** AGAIN! before I called the *** and file my complaint. Magically someone answered and we discussed the situation. He told me I cannot cancel until I pay 1/13/25 bill, membership closes 2/13/25. i also will be using social media , the *** and My legal representation if a refund is not received within 10 days of this response.
if a refund is not received by 1/12/25 ( thats 14 days but giving 4 days grace due to non business days) I am well prepared to get what my money back.
