BUYER BEWARE! I ordered a used Galaxy S10 phone on February 24, 2021. Per their terms of sale, this seller warrantied the phone for two weeks. The phone arrived on March 1. I did not use the phone for the first 5 days I had it because I did not know I could transfer the data and sim card myself. I am not close to a phone store, so at day 5 when I went to town and stopped at the **** store to have them transfer my data and sim card. They showed me how to transfer the sim card but would not transfer my data (supposedly due to Covid). The tech told me to use the Copy My Data app to transfer the data from my old iPhone to this new Galaxy S10. After buying a hard case for the phone and a screen protector (I wanted to make sure the phone would be protected for a long life), I went back home and tried to transfer the data. The two phones would not communicate using the Copy My Data app, despite the **** tech implying that this was a simple thing to do as if he did it every day. I tried updating the operating system on the Galaxy, but the data still would not transfer. I just assumed that the iPhone and Galaxy were incompatible using this software. It never occurred to me at that time that there might be a problem with the Galaxy preventing the data transfer. I finally was able to transfer my data by moving it to my PC from the iPhone, then on to the Galaxy. The Galaxy phone seemed to work ok. Next, I loaded a couple more apps, one of which was the Celsius Network app. Initially, this app worked ok, but after about a week, it started crashing. Whenever I would restart the app, it would run correctly for a while, but then while I was not using the app again, it would crash. This went on for a week or so, and I finally got fed up with it, uninstalled the app, then reinstalled it. Again, it did not occur to me that this might indicate a problem with the Galaxy. I just thought there might be a software glitch between the app and the Galaxy since I never had a problem using that app on my iPhone. Before I could determine whether or not the Celsius Network app was going to crash again, the touch screen started intermittently quitting. At first, I was able to restore the touch screen by restarting the phone using the buttons. This was when I first submitted a complaint comment on the Swappa website. By that time, I had used the phone for about 3.5 weeks. At that point, I had three problems with the phone. I thought they were all unrelated. Looking back, I suspect they were not unrelated and that the phone was faulty from the first time I tried to used it, as evidenced by the Copy My Data app not functioning properly. The seller recommended I hard reboot the phone. I tried, but without the touch screen, that is not easy. Fortunately, the touch screen started working for a few hours, so I immediately backed up its data, wiped my ****** account from it, and performed a hard reset. Following that, the touch screen worked again for the rest of the day. The next morning, I discovered that the touch screen was not working again. It never worked again. The seller, Amafah Electronics, stated that I must have either dropped the phone or caused water damage. Neither of these accusations is true. In fact, the first thing I did before using the phone was to install a hard case and a screen protector to protect the phone from any future damage. Before buying it, I noticed in the online photos advertising the phone showed scratches and dings on the metal case at the bottom of the phone. After it arrived in the mail, I saw that those scratches are actually gouges in the metal. The only way a phone could get its outer metal gouged like this is if it was dropped or otherwise physically damaged. Based on this, it is reasonable to assume the phone was already damaged when it arrived. Despite a complaint conversation spanning 22 comments between me, this seller, and Swappa, I did not find successful resolution of having been sold a phone that obviously did not work properly. Swappa was of no assistance in getting a refund on this phone despite me checking the I need Swappas help box on each comment I submitted. They even went so far as to tell me I needed to send a separate email to someone at Swappa to deal with this issue. This left me wondering what was the purpose of the I need Swappas help box. Swappa told me to contact Paypal since they were the payment processor (even though I bought the phone with my **** card). About six days after submitting to PayPal a description of my situation, PayPal responded to me that the seller was willing to refund my purchase if I sent the phone back. They provided me the mailing address for the seller, so I sent the phone back. The PayPal email stated, To receive the refund, you'll need to initiate the return shipment and upload the tracking information in the ***************** before April 24, 2021. There was no link in the email for a webpage describing how to do that and this dispute had not been recorded in my PayPal account because I had purchased it with my **** card. Therefore, I could not figure out how to get to the ***************** to initiate the return. I sent the phone back in a box without using the PayPal tracking system. PayPal then told me that they would not refund the money unless I could prove that I sent the phone back. I told the PayPal rep that their email was lacking guidance on how to initiate the return. She told me that they were aware of this problem but that they could not fix it. Huh? I called the post office to see if I could get information confirming that I sent the phone, but they need the tracking number to do that. I do not have the tracking number, so cant confirm that I sent it back. I asked the seller via Swappa comment if they received the phone, but they never responded. I gave up trying to get my money back directly from the seller, from Swappa, and from PayPal. Instead, I went to my last resort, and filed a complaint with ***** since I had used that credit card for processing. After working with **** for two months, **** rejected my dispute because I could not confirm I had sent the phone back. In the end, this seller got my phone, a new hard case, the new screen protector, and all my money. I got dozens of wasted hours and a reduced bank account. As I said at the beginning, BUYER BEWARE but not just of this seller. Also, beware of Swappa because they were of no assistance at all in this matter. I cant say much for the poor communication I experienced with PayPal either. My simple advice AVOID THIS SELLER. If you choose to buy from this seller, or even from Swappa, I hope you dont get stuck in a situation such as I have described. If you buy from this seller and find ANY PROBLEM AT ALL with the phone RETURN IT IMMEDIATELY. Otherwise, you could end up like me.
